Laden ignored the alarms that were blaring in his head telling him to stay out of battle for a reason even he couldn’t possibly understand.
He dragged his injured body straight towards the area he heard the monkey leader’s roar from.
"We need to help the monkey leader," he said in an exhausted tone.
Although he was pushing himself to the absolute limit, Laden’s body wasn’t complying.
He tried moving with his top speed, but he wasn’t able to reach even half of that, which was a sign of how tired he was.
Due to his much slower speed, Laden was only able to arrive at the leader’s battlefield a few minutes later.
"How did they even fight till they got so far away?" he mumbled.
But before he could even arrive at the exact location, Laden had realized that sothing was wrong.
"There are no sounds of battle," he said with furrowed eyebrows.
That prompted him to walk faster so he could arrive in front there as soon as possible.
"Ohh," Laden said the mont he arrived there and saw the scene in front of him.
The golden fur of the monkey leader was covered completely in blood; so appeared to be his blood, but most weren’t. They seed to belong to the hyena leader, who was currently lying lifeless on the floor.
With its body completely pulled into two halves.
"This must have been just like the type of fight I love best," Pri said, causing Laden to raise an eyebrow.
"What type of fight?" he asked.
"A brutal fight," Pri said in an oddly excited voice.
"Masochist," Laden muttered before approaching the monkey leader, who was also lying on the ground completely exhausted.
The monkey leader seed to have sensed Laden’s presence as it quickly sat up to look at him with its eyes filled with worry and its mouth making faint sounds.
"Pri, what is he saying?" Laden asked.
"I think he is asking about his mbers," Pri responded angrily.
"Your mbers are fine, at least most of them," Laden said in a low voice while he rembered the bodies of dead monkeys he had seen.
Everybody he saw and rembered seeing made Laden frown deepen while a thought ran through his mind.
"These beasts even attack themselves in groups for no obvious reasons,"
"They really are a bunch of evil beasts," he thought with gritted teeth.
Despite having a slightly pleasant experience with the golden-furred monkeys, Laden knew that this group was extrely rare and special, but he couldn’t point out what caused them to be like that.
Upon hearing Laden’s response, the monkey leader gave Laden a curt nod showing its appreciation before standing up to head to his cave.
Laden stood there for a bit, confused about what to do next. He had wanted to co join the battle here, but he arrived late, and it had ended.
And now he had no other plan, leaving him confused. He was wondering if he should return with the monkey leader to harvest so parts since he was still doing the Academy Entrance Test.
Or should he just head back to where he had left Caleb since a few hours had passed since he left?
Ultimately, Laden decided to return to the monkey group and harvest parts of the beast he had killed with his own hands.
Since there was no more imdiate danger or combat, Ladan had canceled his fused form with Pri so he couldn’t heal anymore, and he had to move slowly.
It took him a bit of ti, but Laden finally arrived in the Forbidden Zone that was marked on the map.
Wooooooooo! Woooo Hoooo! Wooooooooo!
Laden heard chattering monkeys all around him; they were so large and resounding that Laden could feel it in his brain.
"They are hailing you, Laden," Pri said.
"Now you are the lord of these monkeys," Pri said, shaking his head.
Before Laden could say anything, he suddenly noticed multiple golden monkeys approaching him with all of his kills.
"Ohhh, that saves a lot of stress," Laden said with a smile.
At the far end of the line of monkeys, one of them was even carrying the corpse of the special hyena Laden had killed first.
The Monkeys arrived and slowly dumped all of the bodies in front of Laden before running off to join the group again.
"I guess it’s ti to get into collecting parts," he sighed.
Laden picked one body at a ti, harvesting a small part of the skin and keeping it in his bag, including that of his biggest kill.
And after about ten minutes, he was done with all of them, and he had nothing else to do in the area, so he decided to leave.
While Laden prepared to leave, he looked around to see if he could find the monkey leader, but he was unable to spot him, so he decided to give up and leave.
Without hesitation, he turned towards the direction he ca in and sprinted away as fast as he could.
When Laden got to a notable distance away from the area, he suddenly heard a loud chatter behind him.
Wohoohahaaaa!
The monkey that had brought him here was standing ten ters behind him and was making waving gestures as if sending him off.
Unknowingly a soft smile ford on Laden’s face as he turned around to continue his journey.
"This small journey wasn’t too bad, Pri," Laden said with a smile.
"We got a fruit that should help you evolve, a lot of beast materials that should be worth a lot of points, and we even made friends."
"Never doubt this Primordial one’s words ever," Pri responded with its usual arrogance.
Laden went silent as he thought about the myriad of events that had happened in the last few hours, and he dragged his injured body through the forest.
But the silence that they wallowed in won’t be lasting too long. Not too far behind Laden was a familiar muscular boy with a sinister smile on his face.
"Finally found you, Laden."
