Laden’s heart sank in his chest when he heard the voices coming from the surrounding area. They were doing a vast range of things, from Laughing to Mockery or chuckling.
But one thing was quite uniform about all of the sounds that ca from Laden’s surroundings— They were happy.
At that mont Laden’s mind had already been calculating a lot of things and reasoning where he was. had actually gone wrong.
"Why did I believe it was only two people that should be here," he wondered.
He couldn’t point out the exact reason that made him suddenly conclude that only two people were going to be waiting for them in that place.
"Now is not the ti to keep thinking pointlessly; now is the ti to kick so butts," Pri shouted from the Nascent Space.
He hadn’t been really interfering or interacting with Laden that much for quite a while now, especially since they had arrived in the wilderness.
He only spoke when the situation needed him to or when it was ti to battle.
"Are you serious? we should fight four or five people at the sa ti," Laden asked.
"Stop being a baby; even if there are a hundred people, we will take them," Pri said arrogantly.
"These aren’t senseless beasts; these are smart Summoners that have worked together for a while," Laden reminded.
"Excuses of the weak. Let’s fight," Pri shouted.
Laden was then snapped to reality by the thick words that ca out again.
"We are a really peaceful bunch of people, so we won’t be asking too much of you," the leader said.
"Drop the mike over there and leave your bags too and then scurry away," the proposed leader said.
Laden felt the first part of his words was doable as he didn’t really have anything to do with Mike anymore, but the second part was sothing he couldn’t accept at all.
The golden fruit in his bag was too precious, and it cost him a lot for him to get, so he just couldn’t let it go like that. Even if he got it for free, he knew it would greatly help his growth, so he wouldn’t be letting it go like that.
Caleb also looked at Laden with reluctance on his face; it seed he also had things he wasn’t willing to let go of in his bag.
"We have no problem letting go of Mike here, but your other request for the bag, that will be impossible," Laden responded firmly.
"Hahaha, you seem to not realize what sort of situation you currently are in; this isn’t a negotiation, it’s an order," the leader said again.
"Mike, won’t you tell your bodies over there who they are dealing with?" the leader said.
Hearing a question directed at Mike, Laden shook his head regretfully while preparing for what to co.
"Leader, I told them, leader, I told them everything, how you and your girlfriend act while you are with us."
"Your tendency to run in fear when you are alone with ladies," Mike said.
Behind the tree, the leader couldn’t hide his embarrassnt as his face imdiately flooded red; he wanted to shout and berate Mike when he suddenly felt danger approaching.
Bammmm!
A loud sound of tal and wood coming into contact with each other resounded in the environnt, accompanied by wood splintering everywhere.
Laden had used the opportunity of the short distraction that the leader was about to feel to get ready and attack directly.
With his staff he rushed towards the direction the voice had been coming from before anyone else could react and attacked directly.
His staff hit cleanly, knocking the leader unconscious in a straight blow.
Since no one was prepared for Laden’s sudden attack, the leader hadn’t gotten the ti to summon his spirit for battle, making him defenseless.
Seeing his surprise attack work like magic, Laden didn’t rush to attack soone else; instead, he retreated back to his previous location.
After a few seconds had passed, the group could finally get a grasp of what was happening, making all of them co out of their hiding spot and summon their respective spirits.
Of the five people that were currently surrounding Laden, there was a very diverse array of summons among them. It ranged from Raccoons to what looked like a Mole and Birds and then finally a Cat like Summon.
"None of them have a particularly strong looking Summon, that’s probably why they are working together like this," Laden muttered.
"But they are still too much for to handle on my own,"
"I need to think of sothing," he thought.
Getting their leader beaten and knocked unconscious directly seed to have infuriated quite a lot of the students as about three of them ca charging straight at Laden at the sa ti.
Despite their domineering charge, Laden felt like he could still handle these three if he tried his best especially with his new staff increased staff mastery and then his high combat techniques knowledge.
The first student arrived in the blink of an eye, and then with a sharp swing of his staff, he cut off his path of escape, and with another swing, he sent him to the ground.
The other one arrived but this one was more careful and was able to dodge Laden’s first attack and even prepare to counter.
But Laden wasn’t easily hit, he weaved acrobatically and even skillfully guided the attack towards the one he had hit to the ground earlier.
The attack connected and that Student was instantly neutralized giving Laden the opportunity to focus on one now but before he could do anything the others finally arrived.
"Ohhh, I get it now," Laden said with a smile.
"Mike, tell sothing embarrassing about this guy," he said while pointing to the figure closest to him.
The students imdiately went wide-eyed when they heard Laden’s words while turning to Mike.
He heard about the Leader’s own, so he couldn’t afford to let Mike expose him like that.
Laden instantly capitalized on that distraction and landed a decisive blow on his opportunity.
He did the sa a few more tis and it kept on working until he had beaten all of them to a pulp or knocked them unconscious.
"So they are all really weaklings; Mike seed to be the only one capable of actually fighting," Laden muttered.
"Ohhh yes, before I forget,"
"You have all been... Exhud,"
