Everyone knows how powerful and mystical dragons are," she began, her voice calm but layered with disdain. "But dragons are dragons. Inheritance Grounds are Inheritance Grounds."

Her eyes turned distant for a mont.

"It has been countless eras since the Dragon Race supposedly perished. Entire civilizations have risen and fallen. Yet their so-called Inheritance Grounds remain intact... unchanged... still active."

She looked at him aningfully.

"That alone should tell you enough."

Wang Chen felt the implication hit him instantly.

His pupils contracted.

A cold thread of understanding crawled up his spine.

If the Dragon Race were truly extinct...

Why would their inheritance systems still function perfectly?

Why would they not decay into ruins?

Why would they not collapse like every other ancient relic abandoned by ti?

Mo Huyan watched his expression carefully. When she saw the faint horror flash across his face, a trace of appreciation flickered in her eyes.

Good.

He understood quickly.

"There are thousands of so-called ’Dragon Inheritance Grounds’ scattered across the lower and upper realms," she continued. "But everyone who has reached a certain height knows these are not the true grounds."

"They are manifested copies."

"Bait."

Her tone sharpened slightly.

"They exist for one purpose: to attract cultivators. To trap them. To harvest them."

Wang Chen’s throat felt dry.

"Harvest...?"

Mo Huyan’s lips curved faintly.

"The nourishnt gathered from those who enter—blood essence, karma, destiny fragnts, Dao comprehension—it is all siphoned away."

"Fed."

Her voice lowered.

"Fed to the true ground."

A heavy silence filled the black space.

"The real Dragon Race Inheritance Ground has never been found," she concluded. "It lies hidden, sustained by the continuous flow of nourishnt from these false grounds, waiting for the Dragon Race’s true revival."

The words echoed in the darkness.

Wang Chen stood there motionless.

If this was true—

Then the countless immortals descending now were not explorers.

They were fertilizer.

And he...

He had been walking willingly toward one of those gates.

A slow chill spread through his chest.

For the first ti since arriving at the center of the Seven Cloud Converged World, Wang Chen did not feel like a hidden expert observing from above.

He felt like a piece on soone else’s board.

"Hold on... wait a minute."

Wang Chen’s composure cracked for the first ti since stepping into this conversation.

"What do you an thousands of Dragon Inheritance Grounds? Weren’t there supposed to be only seven?"

His brows drew together tightly.

"All this ti, people believed there were only the seven. Seven dragons. Seven continents. Seven grounds. If there are thousands of them—even in the Upper Realm—then why would immortals descend here?"

His thoughts collided violently.

Seven.

That was the narrative.

Seven dragons forming seven landmasses.

Seven inheritance grounds.

Even Li Mie had mories of seven.

Even Zi Han operated under that frawork.

Now Mo Huyan was calmly saying there were thousands.

And worse—

That they were all fake.

Phantoms.

Feeding chanisms.

The implications were nauseating.

In short, they were bait.

Thousands would throw themselves into these so-called inheritances seeking treasure, only to beco nourishnt. Blood, karma, destiny, Dao fragnts—all siphoned away to sustain sothing hidden.

Out of those thousands, perhaps one or two would stumble close to truth.

The rest?

Fuel.

The shock on Wang Chen’s face deepened.

A faint frown appeared unconsciously.

Mo Huyan observed him carefully. Sothing in his reaction made her expression change.

For the first ti since this conversation began, solemnity settled over her features.

"Hmmm..."

Her voice lowered slightly.

"You truly are unfamiliar with this?"

Her gaze sharpened.

"It is impossible for anyone who has touched the Upper Realm to not know this basic knowledge."

A pause.

"Unless..."

The air around her subtly thickened.

"Unless soone is actively erasing it."

Wang Chen felt it instantly.

The space trembled—not violently, but with precision.

It was not ordinary laws.

It was not simple Dao fluctuations.

It was Authority.

Fate.

Karma.

Destiny threads twisting like invisible serpents around Mo Huyan’s form.

Her eyes closed.

Within the suffocating darkness of the Thousand Soul Flag, strands of unseen light shimred faintly, as if she were reaching across vast rivers of ti, brushing against hidden currents buried beneath layers of deliberate concealnt.

Wang Chen’s breathing slowed.

He did not interrupt.

He did not even dare shift his stance.

Monts passed.

Then—

Her eyes opened.

The solemn look in them had solidified into sothing colder.

"The plan to revive the Dragon Race..."

Her voice was no longer dismissive.

It carried weight.

"It appears things have changed far more during my absence than I anticipated."

Wang Chen’s heart thudded once.

"Changed how?"

Mo Huyan’s gaze pierced through him.

"The ’seven’ narrative you speak of is not ancient knowledge."

"It is recent."

Her voice was asured.

"Deliberately simplified."

"Clean."

She let the word hang.

"Too clean."

She continued, "When information condenses from thousands into seven, when complexity becos mythology, when a distributed trap becos a neat legend... that is not natural decay."

"That is editing."

A chill spread slowly across Wang Chen’s back.

Editing.

Not forgetting.

Not erosion by ti.

But morphing information.

Soone had pruned the truth.

Trimd thousands into seven.

Turned a sprawling parasitic network into a romantic legend of fallen dragons and noble inheritances.

And if even Li Mie’s previous life mories only contained the ’seven’...

Then the erasure had reached extrely high.

Mo Huyan’s voice lowered.

"If this knowledge is suppressed even in the Upper Realm... then the ones pushing this revival are no longer rely remnants."

"They are organized."

"And patient."

The darkness seed to grow heavier around them.

Wang Chen felt a thin thread of realization tighten in his mind.

If immortals were descending here—

If the narrative had been cleaned—

If the seven grounds were only the visible tips—

Then the center of the Seven Cloud Converged World...

Might not be a battlefield over treasure.

It might be a feeding station.

And for the first ti since stepping onto this path, Wang Chen felt sothing unfamiliar pressing against his calm.

Not fear.

Not yet.

But the awareness that the board was larger than he had calculated.

And that so pieces had been moved long before he was born.
