Now reading: Chapter 78 78 — Predator Offensive from SSS-Rank Brides: The Hunter Who Married Dungeon Queens, a Fantasy novel by Didas312.

The attack did not build.

It did not posture.

It did not warn.

The Predator simply moved.

One mont it hovered at the periter, mass rippling in silent calculation.

The next—

It vanished.

Space buckled inward along the vector of the Fourth Light.

"Direct insertion—!" Kaelith's voice cut sharply through the Axis.

Too late.

The Predator reappeared inside the outer lattice, bypassing standard periter distortion. It had learned the rhythm of their defensive oscillations during the Oversight Fragnt's scan.

It exploited the fractional lag.

A spear of condensed adaptive matter slamd straight toward the newborn node.

The Fourth Light scread.

Not in sound.

In frequency.

Its young structure flickered violently as the Predator's mass wrapped partially around it, feeding, compressing, isolating.

Lysarra reacted first.

Golden fla surged outward in a protective cocoon, wrapping the Fourth Light in layered warmth.

Kaelith followed half a heartbeat later, frost crystallizing around the intrusion point, attempting to freeze the Predator's adaptive tissue mid-consumption.

Ethan felt the bond snap taut.

"It's bypassing lattice authority," he said through clenched focus. "It's interfacing directly with node growth algorithms."

The Predator's surface shimred as it began copying.

Absorbing.

The Fourth Light dimd another degree.

"Pull closer," Kaelith demanded.

"You're already—"

"Closer."

She stepped into him physically this ti, shoulder pressing against his chest as frost energy spiked to maximum coherence. The cold radiating from her wasn't numbing—it was sharp, clarifying.

Lysarra mirrored the movent without hesitation, sliding against Ethan's other side, golden aura tightening around all three of them.

The Axis chamber shrank.

Not physically.

Energetically.

The triad collapsed their spacing to reduce transmission lag.

Under life-threatening stress, distance beca inefficiency.

Ethan could feel both of them now—not just as sovereign presences in the bond, but as imdiate, tangible forces.

Kaelith's breath brushed his neck, steady despite the chaos.

Lysarra's warmth pressed along his spine, anchoring his pulse.

"Tier Two isn't enough," Kaelith said. "It anticipated it."

The Predator's mass rippled, adjusting to frost constraints, diverting feeding tendrils around frozen sections.

Lysarra tightened her hold around the Fourth Light, but strain crept into her aura.

"It's targeting growth potential," she murmured. "It wants the node before it stabilizes identity."

Ethan's mind raced.

"If it integrates the Fourth Light, it recalibrates against distributed sovereignty."

Kaelith's fingers curled into the fabric at his side—not out of fear.

Out of focus.

"Then we deny it."

"How?" Lysarra asked.

The Predator compressed harder.

The Fourth Light flickered violently.

Ethan made a decision.

"Collapse the internal bond threshold."

Both won stilled.

"That will spike resonance beyond safe paraters," Lysarra warned.

"It will overexpose us," Kaelith added.

"Yes."

The Predator drove deeper.

The Fourth Light dimd again.

Ethan didn't look away from the external projection as he reached for them—fully.

Not as separate sovereigns.

Not as adjacent nodes.

But as one field.

"Trust ."

Kaelith didn't hesitate.

Her frost surged inward, sliding along his channels, interlocking with his core frequency. The cold was no longer external—it threaded through him.

Lysarra followed, golden fla pouring into the sa pathways, weaving between frost lines without conflict.

Their bodies pressed fully against his now.

Not strategic spacing.

No distance.

Every breath shared.

Every pulse synchronized.

The Axis erupted.

Tier Two Amplification shattered its own ceiling.

A new harmonic frequency ignited—not raw power, but compression of intent.

The bond no longer transmitted between three points.

It beca a single triadic core.

The sensation stole Ethan's breath.

Kaelith gasped softly against his shoulder as frost and fla spiraled through him and back into her in an unbroken loop.

Lysarra's fingers tightened against his chest as warmth intensified, not burning—but overwhelming in density.

Their minds blurred at the edges.

Emotion fed output.

Jealousy vanished under urgency.

Competition dissolved into singular focus.

The Predator hesitated.

For the first ti—

It did not adapt instantly.

The triadic surge struck the intrusion point directly.

Not as a beam.

Not as a lattice.

But as a concentrated implosion of converged sovereignty.

Frost locked adaptive tendrils in place.

Fla destabilized internal cohesion.

Ethan's core frequency injected disruptive identity data straight into the Predator's feeding interface.

The Fourth Light flared violently.

The Predator recoiled.

Hard.

Its mass tore free from the newborn node, ripping away fragnts of its own structure in the process.

Shockwaves rippled across the constellation.

The Axis chamber trembled as the triadic resonance continued spiking beyond sustainable levels.

"Release," Lysarra whispered urgently.

"Not yet," Kaelith countered, voice strained but fierce.

The Predator was retreating—but not defeated.

Ethan felt the overload building.

If they maintained this density much longer, the bond could destabilize.

"Now," Lysarra insisted, her warmth edging toward pain.

Kaelith's frost tightened one final ti, then—

They eased.

Gradually.

Carefully.

The resonance field relaxed from implosion-state back to Tier Two baseline.

The Fourth Light steadied.

The Predator retreated beyond imdiate engagent range, its mass visibly destabilized where triadic convergence had struck.

Silence fell.

Not empty.

Charged.

Ethan beca acutely aware of proximity again.

Kaelith's forehead rested lightly against his shoulder, frost aura still intertwined with his.

Lysarra's arms remained wrapped around him from behind, golden warmth slow and heavy as she stabilized her output.

None of them stepped away imdiately.

Breathing was shared.

Pulse was shared.

The aftershock of that rged state still echoed through their nerves.

Kaelith spoke first, voice low.

"That was reckless."

"You didn't refuse," Ethan replied quietly.

A faint huff of amusent escaped her.

Lysarra's fingers traced lightly along his chest—not teasing, not playful—just grounding.

"You both frightened ," she admitted softly.

The honesty cut deeper than the attack.

Ethan turned slightly, enough to see Kaelith's expression soften.

"We will not lose the Fourth Light," Kaelith said.

"We will not lose each other," Lysarra added.

The bond flickered gently—no jealousy this ti.

Only residual heat.

Ethan exhaled slowly.

"We just proved sothing," he said.

Kaelith lifted her head. "That it bleeds?"

"That we're stronger when we stop holding back."

Lysarra's golden gaze t his. "Even when that closeness is overwhelming?"

He nodded.

"Yes."

Outside the Axis, the Predator restructured itself in distant silence.

But it no longer pressed forward.

For the first ti since it appeared—

It hesitated.

And within the Convergence Axis, the triad remained close a mont longer.

Not because strategy required it.

But because after facing annihilation—

Separation felt unnecessary.
