Across the battlefield, Leon stared down the monster with a storm of power already activated.
Leon had already activated his Transcendent rank Mana Body Enhancent, his level 65 Elental Surge, and his Transcendent rank Raijin’s Descent.
The air around him trembled violently, like reality itself screaming under pressure. A lightning symbol blazed between his temples, crackling with golden-white energy that seed to pulse with his heartbeat.
CRACKLE! ZZZZAP!
And lastly, a level 72 rare rank Ice affinity skill—Frostmail Guard—which created a shimring chainmail-like ice shield all over his body for defense without restricting his movent. The translucent armor caught the ambient light, refracting it in prismatic patterns.
The ice clung to his skin like silk over steel—cold, yet comforting—its faint chill sharpening his senses with each breath.
The sheer pressure of his combined power caused the ground beneath his feet to cave in, cracks spreading outward in a spiderweb pattern.
CRRRUNCH! RUMMMBLE!
Raijin’s Descent alone was thrice as effective as before because of his increased affinity rank. The boost to his physical capabilities was staggering, making every muscle fiber sing with compressed lightning energy.
His epic-ranked sword was now covered in different types of Auras—a violent combination that wasn’t stable, the energies clashing and spiraling around the blade in chaotic harmony. But that instability made it even more destructive, unpredictable, and devastating.
His lightning was different now, deeper and more refined. Leon had reached level 2 in his Lightning Aura, the golden-yellowish energy crackling with greater intensity and control than ever before.
His epic-ranked sword was layered with a chaotic blend of Auras: level 2 Lightning Aura crackling with golden-yellow energy, level 1 Ice Aura spreading frozen veins along the edge, and Wind Aura generating a screaming current. But most dangerous of all—the black shimr of newly awakened Space Aura twisted through them, destabilizing everything.
Yes. He had finally unlocked Space Aura.
Raw energy flickered off the blade like living plasma, tearing faint scars into the air itself as if reality struggled to contain the weapon’s presence.
The monster, seeing the sword and recognizing the deadly combination coating it, realized imdiately that this weapon was one hundred tis more lethal than it had been before during their previous encounter.
It was genuinely shocked by the progress this strange human had made in such a relatively short period of ti.
One year. Just one year, and he’s transford this much?
The ancient consciousness felt sothing it hadn’t experienced in centuries—genuine fear.
Not just concern or wariness, but actual terror at the potential of this strange human. It had been discovered earlier that the human’s racial order was higher than its own, but seeing this progress with its own eyes made the threat horrifyingly real.
This creature... if I don’t kill it now, I never will.
It had decided on a new strategy. It needed only one chance—one perfect opening to go for the kill. This situation had beco too dangerous. It could no longer afford to toy with its prey or plan to devour the human while alive for maximum evolutionary benefits.
That opportunity was gone now.
Kill him now, or die later. Those are my only options.
The monster waved its hand deliberately. From inside the ground, a sleek black sword erged, rising smoothly as if the earth itself was offering a weapon. The blade looked similar to the monster’s own obsidian body. Still, it appeared much darker, as if light itself died trying to reflect off its surface.
It had predicted sothing like this might happen during its year of ditation and recovery. So it had created this weapon, knowing that with only its physical body, it wouldn’t be able to fully utilize its strength against an opponent of this caliber.
The weapon beca covered in an Aura of its own—a mixture of two elents that created a muddy brown glow. Level 4 Earth Aura combined with Level 1 Life Aura, creating sothing dense and primordial.
Leon felt pressure from that Aura for a brief second. The weight of it pushed against his own energies like a physical force trying to smother him.
But then it was gone, overwheld by his collective violent Aura combination. The unstable spiral of Space, Lightning, Ice, and Wind refused to be suppressed, each elent feeding off the others’ aggression.
His combination wasn’t successful in rging into perfect harmony—the energies still clashed and fought against each other—but that made it more deadly and destructive in its own chaotic way.
Since unlocking Space Aura, everything has changed.
Then their eyes t across the distance.
Leon’s heartbeat slowed—not from calm, but from brutal focus. Every muscle in his body coiled like a loaded spring, the silence before a godlike detonation.
BOOOOOM! BOOOOOM!
In the next mont, massive sonic booms erupted behind both of them simultaneously. The atmosphere itself seed to crack and splinter from the sheer force of their launch.
CRRRAAACK! WHOOOOOOSH!
The ground beneath their feet didn’t just crack—it detached completely, chunks of earth floating montarily before being pulverized by the explosive force of their departure.
In the next millionth of a second, both combatants t in the middle of the field.
Both their swords connected.
BOOOOOOM!
The shock of the impact traveled up Leon’s arms like a thunderclap through bone, his ears ringing from the sheer force of it—each nerve ablaze with pressure.
The impact was cataclysmic. Kiloters around them, the ground didn’t just shake—it obliterated like pieces of a cubical puzzle struck by a sledgehamr. Massive chunks of earth flew into the air, the shockwave radiating outward in a perfect circle of destruction.
CRRRAAASH! RUMMMMMBLE! WHOOOOOOM!
Leon was pushed back a re half ter. They were almost equal in this clash, though the distance he’d traveled before impact was marginally less than the monster’s.
I’m barely weaker in both strength and speed. But only negligibly.
The difference was minimal now. He was content with this result—he could easily see the monster moving around, track its movents with his enhanced perception. Unlike before, where he couldn’t even follow the creature’s motion, now every attack was visible, predictable, and counterable with the help of a combination of his spatial awareness and upgraded perception.
I’m confident. I can win this battle.
They ca to a halt—though "halt" was generous, as the pause lasted only a millionth of a second. But in that infinitesimal mont, the monster’s head was filled with thousands of chaotic, shocked thoughts.
It had expected a difference in the strange human’s strength. It had prepared humans to be stronger than before.
But this was just absurd.
Dear gods... what kind of monster is this?!
But what shocked the ancient consciousness even more than the raw power was sothing else entirely—their Aura clash was equal.
The human’s chaotic combination hadn’t been completely obliterated by its Level 4 Earth Aura and Level 1 Life Aura.
How is this even possible?!
The suppression from Level 4 Aura alone should have destroyed the human’s lower-level Auras instantly, crushing them like an adult stepping on an ant. That was the fundantal law of Aura combat—higher levels dominated absolutely.
Yet not only had the humans’ Auras survived the clash, they felt equal in power.
This is madness. This defies everything I know about cultivation and combat.
The clash of destruction continued like flashes of light eting in the empty plain, causing devastation across the land and reshaping the landscape with each impact.
BOOM! CRACK! BOOM! CRACK! BOOM!
Leon was just a shade weaker in strength and speed, but the monster wasn’t able to completely overpower him. After hundreds of direct slashes—each one capable of splitting mountains—they remained locked in brutal combat.
CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!
Space bent like liquid glass, snapping back into place as his form reappeared.
Leon teleported.
Not using his ti dinsion’s master control, but through his actual Space affinity. The movent was almost instantaneous—a true spatial displacent rather than the hundred-ter jumps he’d relied on before, his limit much greater than before.
FWOOSH!
He appeared directly behind the monster’s back, sword already in mid-swing toward the creature’s exposed spine.
Got you!
The monster was barely able to block the attack in ti. Due to the awkward angle and its weird defensive stance—caught completely off-guard by the sudden teleportation—it couldn’t properly counter.
CLANG! SCREECH!
The force of Leon’s strike, combined with the monster’s poor positioning, sent the creature sliding backward across the ground. Its feet carved twin trenches through the earth as it was pushed back dozens of ters.
SCRRRRAAAPE! RUMMMBLE!
Leon paused deliberately after that exchange. He didn’t attack continuously or press his advantage.
He wanted to let this mont sink in.
Feel that? That’s what it’s like to be outmaneuvered. To be caught off guard. To be helpless.
The monster regained its footing and jumped back to correct its posture, repositioning itself with its weapon raised defensively. But Leon noticed sothing crucial—the creature’s hands were trembling slightly where they gripped the black sword.
Fear. It’s actually afraid now.
Leon couldn’t help himself.
The laugh echoed through the shattered plain like a war cry—the kind of sound only soone who had once tasted despair could make when turning the tables.
"HAHAHAHA! You fall apart so easily now... how disappointing."
The laughter continued, loud and mocking, a complete reversal of their previous dynamic.
