Chapter 111: Adolescent stage at last?
" I understand, Sir Rugard." linda said before glancing at Rugard in silence. " Could you please let go of my hands now?" Her words seed unexpected to Rugard.
" Of course. I didn’t an to make you feel uncomfortable." Rugard revealed an embarrassed smile before letting go of her hand.
His eyes twitched when linda took a few steps away from him afterwards. She glanced at the Dark sphere with a worried look before moving towards the cart where her children were still sleeping, standing beside it as she watched over the Dark sphere as if waiting for any signs of change.
" Looks like she was already awake awhile ago..." Rugard muttered to himself before sighing again.
He watched as several skeleton soldiers returned one at a ti, placing monster corpses by Su Ping’s barrier yet linda didn’t seem startled by the sight nor did she seem to care, instead most of her attention was on the Dark sphere.
The caravan stood in place while Su Ping underwent his evolution away from everyone’s eyes, within the dark Sphere. A large pile of monster corpses soon grew with ti Infront of the dark sphere.
" It’s been awhile yet he hasn’t shown any signs of awakening yet. Could this unknown state of his last longer than we think." Rugard said before glancing at the other carts filled to the brim.
" Luckily we’ve got an ample supply of food."
" The skeleton solider’s seem to be returning lesser and lesser with ti. Now they barely return at all." He contemplated on another matter that had risen.
" It could be that they might’ve co across a level 3 monster or where bested by skilled Lvl 2 rare tier monsters. Either way, that’s not a good outco."
" If we stay here for too long, we might risk being chanced upon by wandering monsters attracted to the scent of the corpses, or worse, Whatever took down those skeleton solider’s could co right back to us." Rugard was experienced in traveling through monster plagued routes like this. With the constant disappearance of the skeleton solider’s, he was able to piece so conjectures together.
" Why don’t you take a break within the cart, you’ve been standing for an awful long ti." Rugard said as he approached linda.
" I’m fine. I don’t need to rest, all I want is to..."
" Help your husband?" linda turned silent when Rugard finished her sentence for her.
" I don’t see any way you can help him if you strain yourself like this. Do you really think your husband would be happy knowing that his precious wife is hurting herself."
" Why don’t you just go in and get so rest why I’ll stand guard and keep watch over him." Rugard gently placed his hands on linda’s shoulder’s to reassure her.
" There’s no reason for you to worry about , I’m perfectly fine." linda avoided his hands, taking a step to the side. " I’m just standing, I don’t see how that’s considered hurting myself. Why don’t you go take a rest instead, you’ve been walking all night haven’t you. I’m sure you deserve so rest more than I." linda offered him a light smile.
"...." Rugard felt awkward from being avoided so openly.
" Hehehe, I appreciate your thoughtfulness but I’m not tired in the least." Rugard retracted his arms and rotated his shoulder to show off his energetic body.
" I’m glad your still quite steady."
" Well that’s that. If it’s ok with you, I’d like to continue watching over my husband." linda said yet Rugard couldn’t help but sense so irritation in her voice.
"Since you look bored, why don’t you go over there and gaze at the stars instead. I hear it’s a wonderful pass ti." linda added.
Rugard knew that saying anything else would only irritate her further so he simply walked away, acting as if he was patrolling the caravan yet the Undeads seed more adept at that than him.
Like that, Ti slowly went by without a sound. Soon the first light of dawn peaked through from behind the horizon.
linda leaned against the cart with her back, arms crossed Infront of her chest while her eyelids would drop from ti to ti only for her to force them up, refusing to accept a mont of rest until Su Ping was out of the Dark sphere.
Her focus suddenly wavered when she heard yawning sounds co from behind her. linda turned to see l and Sal waking up from their rejuvenating slumber.
" Mommy? Your awake already?" Sal rubbed his eyes ever so gently while yawning.
" Mommy, where’s daddy." l escaped the confines of their blankets and slowly walked over to her mother.
" Mommy, what’s that big black upside down plate?" Sal tilted his head in confusion while staring at the defensive skill protecting Su Ping.
A warm smiled made its way onto linda’s tired face, She wasn’t overwheld by her children’s consecutive questions but pulled them into her embrace instead.
" Daddy’s inside there but he’s still asleep so we better not wake him ok." linda hugged her children.
" Daddy’s inside that thing?" Sal’s cute face turned surprised.
" Is that a new type of house daddy made." A trace of astonishnt could be seen on l’s face.
" Mommy can’t we wake daddy up, it’s already morning." Sal said, peaking over his mother’s shoulder at the Dark sphere.
" No, Daddy shouldn’t be disturbed while he sleeps so that ans non of us are allowed to disturb daddy." linda placed her son down on the cart and patted his hair.
" But mommy..." Sal said, reaching towards the direction or the Dark sphere.
" No Sal..." linda said, this ti in a more stern tone. She looked at her son wandering why he was so insistent all of a sudden.
" Mommy, is daddy’s house supposed to break like that?" l pointed behind linda.
" That’s what I wanted to ask." Sal turned towards his sister.
linda blinked before turning around in an instant. Her mouth was silent while her eyes brimd with anticipation when she saw spiderweb like cracks begin to spread all over the dark sphere.
