Chapter 143: I’m a dragon not a fox.
Next to her were Sal and l who she had managed to put to sleep.
" Did the fool disturb your rest." Su Ping said as made his way towards her. linda smiled helplessly but shook her head.
" Fortunately he didn’t wake up the children." linda said with a smile. Su Ping suddenly let out a breath before sitting on the edge of the bed, next to her.
" Did you enjoy the walk with lady Victoria." linda asked with a look of amusent on her face.
" Whatever could you an..." Su Ping replied, for so reason he felt a bit uneasy from his Wife warm gaze.
" I see the both of you must’ve been rather intimate." linda leaned forward and whispered into his ears. Su Ping stiffened, wondering how she knew but then it struck him like a light bulb.
He was so absent minded lately that he forgot about Victoria’s scent that lingered on his body.
" Well, why don’t you tell , between her and I, who’s touch do you prefer the most." Su Ping gulped when his wife suddenly wrapped her hands around his neck from behind, her chest pressing against his back.
Even while she wasn’t as powerful as all the other won he’d encountered, Su Ping still couldn’t help but feel helpless against this woman, She was his wife after all and the last thing he wanted was to hurt or upset her.
" Why would I need to choose when the only woman I’ve been with is right here with ." Su Ping held linda’s hands in his, giving them a gentle kiss.
" You sly fox, you always know when to use that slippery tongue of yours don’t you." linda pouted when she felt his gentle touch, since he was behaving like this, she didn’t have it in her to tease him any longer.
" On the contrary my lady, I’m a dragon, not a fox." Su Ping unwrapped her hands from his neck, he then pulled her onto his lap before she could react.
" Well then mister dragon, care to indulge this hungry woman for a round or two." Su Ping felt his blood boil when his wife seductively stroked his chin, while bitting her lips in an arousing manner.
" I thought you weren’t going to tease anymore." Su Ping said with a sigh. The children were still here so he knew she was only playing with him. With how much noise they made the last ti they did it, linda obviously wouldn’t want them to do it here less they scared their children awake.
" Well you left here while you went out with another woman. Can’t I punish you for that as well." linda giggled. Like Su Ping had guessed, she was only joking, even though she did want to take him here and now, she knew that now wasn’t the ti for such things.
" How did your endeavor go with Lady Victoria." linda suddenly asked. Su Ping was silent for a brief mont before smiling.
" It went well, Lady Veronica was more intriguing than I realized and it seems she has nothing against us." Su Ping replied in a vague manner, still cautious. linda didn’t mind, she nodded as if the both of them had reached a consensus before hand.
He now realized why she had been so insistent on him entertaining the heiress, it seed his brilliant wife was hoping for him to ensnare her as well, there by gaining them an ally within this strange environnt.
The more ti he spent with his wife, the more Su Ping noticed that she had a talent for coming up with plans or in so cases, sche’s.
She was the one who had pitched in the idea of using Esralda to gain a favour from her house back at the inn, at the ti, Su Ping was actually about to kill her.
if not for linda, things might’ve turned out differently, after all, The girl, no matter what her background was, had attempted to kill his family, it wasn’t surprising that Su Ping would’ve forsaken all rationality at the sight of her.
’ Now that Victoria’s on my side, I can be said to have gained significant control over the Montgory household, and even their viscounty. Since she’s the first born child, even if she’s an heiress and not an heir, she should hold significant power within the household, power that I can use for my own benefit.’
’ If I can get one of the viscount’s sons under my control or even his wife, I should be able to take over the viscounty without much issue but that will be difficult since I’ll have to leave the estate after the planned gala for Esralda’s return, tonight.’ Su Ping couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. It was situations like this that had him blaming fate for hindering his progress.
" Darling you shouldn’t worry so much, Let’s just take it one step at a ti. I’m sure everything will turn out alright." linda traced her finger along his chest before staring into his eyes.
Seeing his wife reassuring gaze, Su Ping sighed before nodding. Like she said, he shouldn’t always be in a rush, sotis it was better to think things carefully and take on step at a ti.
The both of them stayed in that posture for awhile, linda soon feel into genuine slumber in his arms while Su Ping simply watched over her in silence. Soon the sun slowly dipped behind the horizon. Su Ping felt a tranquil feeling staring at the setting sun.
Knock knock
Su Pings senses perked up when he heard a knocking coming from the door, aning soone had co to see them.
[Dark Tentacles]
Several dark tentacles erged from shadows in the room before stretching towards the door.
’ These things really are helpful.’ Su Ping smiled.
A maid was waiting outside with so neatly folded fabric in her hands. When she heard the door knob clicking from the other side, a look of relief washed over her face.
" Sir, these are outfits prepared for–" the maids face suddenly paled, her words lodged in her throat when she saw two purple black tentacles holding the door open while the third one swayed Infront of her as if observing her.
" You may enter." The maid suddenly shifted her focus away from the dark tentacles and to the man who’d just spoken.
The maid stared at the tentacles feeling wary but in other to fulfill her duty, she walked into the room. Her heart sank when she heard the tentacles locking the door behind her.
She approached the the bed where the dark covered man was sitting at the edge of the bed, with a beautiful woman sleeping in his arms while two children slept on the bed.
" Sir, these are the attire specially made for you 4 for the 4th young misses gala, courtesy of the Montgory household." The maid was frightened by the man before her, hurrying to state her reason for coming.
The maids body shivered when the three tentacles approached her, slithering round her before finally taking the wrapped attire in her hand.
" I see, please do thank the mbers of the Montgory family on my behalf." Su Ping nodded.
" I’ll be sure to do as you’ve asked–" The maid said before stiffening.
" Master..." Her deanor turned from frightened to docile and submissive.
’ Good, she didn’t end up like victoria.’ Su Ping let out a sigh of relief, the last thing he needed was another.
" There’s no need to call master, just Mister Su will do just fine."
" As you wish Mister Su." The maid nodded before taking her leave.
Su Ping was glad that it didn’t take him more than a second to warp the mind of the maid.
’ Lvl 1 units seem easy to take over. But unfortunately I couldn’t ask her to bring more servant’s to brainwash... If I did sothing like that, I’m sure I would’ve alerted anyone watching.’
Su Ping was disappointed he couldn’t speed up his take over but he was still pleased that he was able to turn the maid in an instant. The maid didn’t even notice the skills effects on her before it was over in the blink of an eye, he had also taken extra percussion to make sure no one would notice anything strange and he hoped no one would be able to until it was too late.
With that done, Su Ping turned towards the wrapped clothes the maid had brought. He was amused when he saw that they had even brought so clothing for l and Sal.
’ I guess they don’t want to miss this event.’ Su Ping chuckled. He had actually planned to have them stay here on the pretence that they were not all dressed for the occasion but from the looks of it, that plan wouldn’t work.
’ But this suit is going to be a problem...’ Su Ping stared at the black suit, similar to the ones used in 18th century england.
