Chapter 65: Proxy Acquired.
" Ok... I’ll tell you, but promise you won’t run away ok."
" Run away? Why would I–" linda’s sentence froze in her throat as her eyes widened and her face paled the next mont.
Su Ping had undid his illusion and was now standing before her in his Draconian form. Staring at the formidable looking creature Infront of her linda’s mouth unconsciously opened but Su Ping reacted quickly.
Erging behind her, he covered her mouth with one hand while he wrapped his hand around her waist with the other, pulling her body onto his.
linda’s muffled scream was heard but due to Su Pings actions, it was to light for it to escape the room.
’ Did I expect too much... Is the plan really going to fail here.’ Su Ping’s expression creased as he thought of maybe leaving now before things turned even more troubling.
linda’s muffled scream soon died down, replaced by silent sobbing as tears stread down her cheeks. Su Ping felt her stop struggling in his arms as if she had resigned herself to her cruel fate.
"...?" linda was stunned when she felt the creature suddenly release her, she hurriedly approached the door to flee, right now all she could think of was grabbing her children and leaving here before this monster would harm them but.
" l l..." She froze when she heard the creatures demonic voice turn soft as it called her na. She didn’t know why yet she sensed a deep pain in it’s voice.
linda turned towards the creature only to see two streams of tear’s dripping down it’s cheeks.
" It’s ok...you don’t have to take the children and leave. I’ll be the one to leave, after all, it’s my fault for keeping this secret from you for so long." The creatures heart broken expression revealed a forced smile.
linda stiffened at the sight of it’s frightening fangs but at the sa ti, she felt a painful pang in her chest.
Her expression soon turned conflicted as she watched the creature walk towards the open window, the moonlight illuminating it’s glistening dark scales.
linda realized that he really was intending to leave. Su Ping naturally didn’t have anything else in mind to do with her, since the plan had failed, that was it, all he could do was figure sothing else out.
’ I can’t threaten her with the children, that would only cause more troubles in the long run, after all, one should never ss with a mother and her children.’ Su Ping nodded inwardly as if recalling a mory where a criminal had ran out of the hotel with a child in hand. He thought the child’s faith would’ve been sealed, but the next day, he was stunned when the sa kidnapper returned to the hotel with that sa child, only the criminal looked like soone who had been through hell.
Before he could say anything at the ti, the lady staying with the child at the hotel had collected her child as if nothing happened before heading back inside, what frightened him the most was that the criminal beca even more anxious since the lady didn’t respond to his pleas, he actually borrowed Su Pings phone and called the police himself.
The incident had made the headlines that day and everyone was left wondering just what happened to the criminal to have pushed them to such levels.
’ Yes..., I’m definitely not trying anything like that, who knows if the captains wife might be related to witches or sothing worse.’ Su Ping shivered inwardly at the thought.
" l l?" Su Ping who already had one feet on the window ledge was surprised when he felt a pair of soft hands that wrapped around his waist all of a sudden, as if unwilling to let go.
" Please don’t leave darling, I’m sorry for acting rash. I promise I’ll listen, you can tell why is it you look like this, so please, please don’t leave and our children behind." linda’s sobbing face was placed against his scaly back.
In the end, she didn’t want her husband to leave because of this. The fact that him, who she knew as a greedy man, would actually be willing to give up everything he had struggled to acquire to her and the children was one of the reasons she decided to hear him out, another reason was the fact that her husband had suddenly co ho a changed man, now willing to talk to his wife and even treated her better than she ever thought was possible. She felt that if she were to let him go now, she would definitely regret it for the rest of her life.
’ Yes! She took the bait!’
Su Ping felt extrely happy inside. He spotted Ming Yao in the corner of the room with a pout on her face.
’ This little fur ball.’ Su Ping rolled his eyes at her before clearing his throat in his mind then beginning to play out the remainder of his plan.
He consoled linda before the both of them sat by the bed and talked things out. linda was surprised to learn that her husband was a demon who had crossed to this plain from the Abyss years ago in other to recover from severe injuries. He had spotted Captain who had died from being beaten to death due to drinking, linda found the idea plausible since before marrying captain, she already knew he was a maniac when it ca to drinking.
Seeing the late captains death as an opportunity, he disguised himself as him, his plan was only to rest in the physical plain and recover his injuries but after eting her his plans took on a different change.
" I couldn’t think of going back after eting you... Yet I knew I couldn’t tell you about what I was." Su Pings expression turned saddened but linda took the initiative and held his hands in hers, her face was blushing from his words but she took the initiative to console her husband.
" It’s ok sweetie, I know now and that’s all that matters." linda said warmly, finding his intimidating figure more and more attractive the more he talked.
