Since the monster had gotten away, Silva decided to head towards the city. He had only looked in that direction when a massive blue blast ca his way.
Reacting fast, he leaped to the side as he dodged the attack. It slamd into the ice and destroyed it for hundreds of ters; the ice froze up imdiately after.
Silva looked ahead. The attack had co from the city. He spotted four figures flying his way as well — they had white wings on their backs and armor that looked like it was made of ice.
Beneath the armor, they looked like humans with extrely pale skin but three blue eyes instead of one.
"Oh shit, it seems I might have triggered them," he said.
They flew in fast, and even before they were in range, they all took out staves. The staves had curved, sharp heads that looked made for cutting, and the sa blue balls floated in the curve.
They began firing blasts of ice at Silva, each one heavy and powerful. Silva dodged quickly, retreating fast, his eyes darting around as he registered the position of each of them.
"I'm not here to fight, please," he said. "Well, I don't even really know the reason why I am here. This is supposed to be so sort of test," he said and then looked at them.
"Maybe the test is to keep attacking and going, maybe," he said. A smile ford on his face. "If that's the case, then let end this."
He sprouted his wings and shot into the sky.
The four imdiately shot after him. They flew shockingly fast, catching up to him slowly. They fired at him as they chased, but Silva was too agile for them; he dodged swiftly and then launched higher, even faster.
When he felt the distance was enough, he allowed himself to drop. They weren't expecting it. He fell, and when he was right between them, he pulled out his sword, spun around, and slashed. His sword struck all four, sending them flying.
They slamd into the ice and skidded for a few ters before coming to a stop. Silva flew down and waited for them to get up.
They all got up and attacked at the sa ti, flying forward at full speed. They attacked with their staves, the sharp sides coming for him. ɪꜰ ʏᴏᴜ ᴡᴀɴᴛ ᴛᴏ ʀᴇᴀᴅ ᴍᴏʀᴇ ᴄʜᴀᴘᴛᴇʀs, ᴘʟᴇᴀsᴇ ᴠɪsɪᴛ noⅴelfire
Silva dodged with ease, moving back just before the attacks reached him and dodging with only inches to spare.
His eyes watched everything as they attacked. Seeing that their attacks didn't reach him, they started blasting again, but then he took off into the air.
They thought he would keep flying around, but when he was a few ters off the ground, he attacked with a massive fla arc.
They reacted fast and scattered. The fla arc ripped into the ground; the ice froze imdiately after, but Silva now had the opening to take one or two down.
He rushed downward at one of them, coming with an overhead slash, but the ice angel blocked the attack with its staff. It skidded back along the ice for a few ters before coming to a stop.
It looked up, and Silva was already attacking again. Flas exploded from Silva's sword as he slashed.
Boom!
An explosion knocked the angel backward, its armor lting in streaks where the black flas touched. Silva didn't let him, his wings flared open as he appeared behind it mid-air, his sword carving a blazing arc. The angel's staff ca up in defense, but the impact sent it crashing into the ice. It hit the ground hard, motionless.
"One down," Silva muttered, eyes flashing with black fire.
The remaining three circled him warily, frost gathering at their feet as they began to chant in unison. Their staves glowed with azure light, the orbs humming like crystal bells. Shards of ice spiraled upward, rging into lances before shooting toward him.
Silva raised his sword, the black flas wrapping around it like a serpent. He spun once; the blade howled through the air, burning through the incoming lances. The sky rained molten fragnts, steam bursting where fla t frost.
The angels switched tactics, diving toward him together. Their movents were sharp and coordinated, each strike from their staves carrying both physical force and a burst of cold magic. Every hit could've shattered a mountain. Silva grinned.
"You're pretty strong, I'll give you that."
He ducked low, sidestepped one swing, then drove his fist into the gut of the nearest angel, black flas erupting from the contact. The creature scread. Silva twisted, kicking it aside as his sword shot up to parry another's downward strike.
Sparks of frost and fire collided violently. The angel's staff cracked under the pressure. Silva's eyes narrowed, and he slashed across its chest — the cut left a line of black fire burning through armor and skin alike. The angel fell, convulsing.
Two left.
The air grew colder instantly. The remaining angels crossed their staves, and a blizzard roared to life, engulfing the entire area. Visibility dropped to nothing. Silva felt the mana thrum around him, sharp, wild, biting.
He closed his eyes, feeling through the frost, his aura expanding outward. When he sensed movent, he swung.
A streak of black fla cut through the storm, colliding with one of them. The angel scread as the fire devoured the cold, lting through armor and flesh alike until it crashed to the ground.
The storm faltered, leaving only one standing. Its wings were tattered, its gaze furious as ice gathered once more at its staff's tip.
Silva's smile deepened, his sword lowering slightly.
"Your turn."
He blurred forward, moving like a ray of light. Clang! Clang! Clang!
Their collisions caused multiple shockwaves to spread all across. The ice angel was getting pushed back farther and farther, but it didn't want to let up.
Silva was about to land the finishing blow, but the blast from before was fired again, coming straight for him.
