Roman nodded as she handed him the paper.

"You can’t use it to pass your class if that’s what you’re thinking about, but you can use it to practice, just like this." Neia held a book in her hand, and the spell circle ford.

"Ohh." Roman smiled, but the next mont his system ca up.

Neia watched as her spell broke and the book beca visible. She looked at Roman, a little bit angry.

She still couldn’t figure out how her spells hadn’t worked on Roman. Even if he was an illusion mage, she should be far stronger and able to put him under a spell, but it was impossible.

Roman did as she wanted and turned around with his eyes closed. After so ti, she told him to look, and the mont he looked at her hands.

Roman knew what was happening, but he couldn’t tell her; he had to play dumb, and even if he did, she wouldn’t believe it, so there was no use.

"I don’t know what to say. Maybe I’m blessed," Roman muttered with a smile.

"Have you co up with a spell yet, is that what you’re trying to learn?"

"Yes, I already have a spell circle, but projecting it is still a little hard, so I end up casting the spell. I should be able to do it after practice with this spell circle. I’ll see you later." Roman spoke as he walked away.

"I’m used to talking to him a lot. Maybe I should try flirting with him to see if he’ll accept." Neia chuckled to herself as she waved Roman back.

Roman exited the library and went towards the dorm, he was going to train a little with Ava so she wouldn’t be suspicious.

Roman arrived at his room and pushed the door open, but Ava wasn’t in. She was probably training since the weather was good, the sun was covered by clouds, and it was a little cold.

’Might as well try the spell circle’

Roman had been able to project his fireball spells in a circle, but he couldn’t hold it for long, so casting the spells would be easy, but sothing crossed his mind.

Roman placed the paper in front of him and took a deep breath. Roman focused on the paper and the spell circle drawn on it.

He held a shirt in one hand, stretched his other hand forward, and started to create the circle in the air.

A faint white glow ford. Lines began to shape—then it vanished. Roman infused Mana in his eyes so he could see the spell circle.

He tried again.

This ti, he focused harder, slowing his breathing, thinking only of the circle and the shirt in his hand.

Again, the spell circle ford... but the edges started to shake. The lines broke apart.

"Damn, I didn’t think it would be this hard" Roman whispered under his breath.

He wasn’t giving up.

Again, he tried. And again.

But each ti, it beca harder. His head began to ache, and sweat rolled down his face. His hand was already shaking from holding it upright so long.

The glow wouldn’t hold. No matter how many tis he tried, it kept slipping away before he could finish. It was like he was losing focus midway.

He dropped his hand and sat down on the floor, frustrated.

"Why is this so hard?" he muttered.

He stared at the paper.

The circle looked simple. Just a few lines in the action circle, a few runes. But doing it in his head, projecting it, was sothing else. Every small mistake, every shake of his hand, made it collapse.

He wasn’t scared of casting it wrong—he was scared of it blowing up in his face if he forced it.

Roman leaned back against the bed.

"Alright. One more try," he said.

He stood up, held the shirt again, and slowly began projecting the spell circle once more.

The white light flickered. The lines moved into place, and the circle looked stable.

Roman’s heart raced.

He held it there, fingers steady, sweat rolling down his temple. The shirt in his other hand began to glow slightly.

Roman sighed and dropped the shirt. But a small smile appeared on his face.

"It’s getting better," he muttered. "I’ll get it soon."

Just then, he heard the door open.

Ava stepped in, wiping her face with a towel. Just like he thought she had been training outside.

Roman quickly hid the paper placing it into his pocket before turning towards her.

"Hey."

"Hey," Ava said. "You been resting?"

Roman nodded. "Yeah, I was waiting for you"

She didn’t ask more, just tossed the towel on her bed and stretched her body then she sat on the ground in front of her bed.

"Well then, let’s get started," Ava said.

"You were just training. You should rest a little before we start," Roman said.

"I’m the one teaching you. I’m good to go." Ava replied.

"If you say so." Roman sat in front of her. Ava had a weird smile on her face, and he knew exactly why.

"So what should we start with, still Mana control?" She asked.

"No, I’m already training on my own. Teach how to project a spell circle. Also, you can teach a new spell in the process," Roman said.

Currently, he was sure Ava would do anything for him, because she wanted to get laid, and he was going to; after all, she was his path to increasing his spell power.

If his spell power was increased then his illusion spells would be stronger.

"Alright, since you’re an elental mage which fla spell do you want to learn?" Ava asked

Roman had no idea of any other fla spell. He could guess from his knowledge of books and movies, but he wasn’t sure if it was the sa in this world.

"Just teach any one, a simple one" Roman replied.

"Alright, fla arrow, it’s easy to cast but does real damage depending on the caster"

She raised her hand, and a red spell circle began to form in front of her. It was sharp and fast—every rune locking in place perfectly.

"This is the circle for Fla Arrow," she said, holding it in place for Roman to see.

Roman studied it carefully. He already knew so basics, but the way Ava created the circle so smoothly made him feel a little jealous.

This was sothing he was struggling to do so minutes ago.

"Now watch," Ava added with a smile as she raised her other hand. Another spell circle ford, and she created a wall of ice out of thin air.

The fla spell circle glowed brighter, and a burning arrow made of fire shot towards the ice she created.

The ice stopped the fla, but so parts broke off. She stopped both spells. Then, she projected the spell circle for the fla arrow again.

"Your turn," she said with a proud smile.

Roman took a deep breath and stretched his hand forward. He started projecting the circle like he had seen, but it was shaky.

Lines appeared, then faded. Runes were out of place. The circle flickered, then vanished.

He sighed. He could see the spell circle in front of him but doing it was different.

Roman tried again.

This ti, he slowed down. The spell circle started to form, but midway his hand trembled and the whole thing collapsed.

Ava didn’t say anything. She just watched quietly.

Roman kept trying, again and again. Each ti he got closer. The circle was starting to form properly, but sothing always threw it off—wrong rune, weak focus, trembling fingers.

"You’re rushing," Ava finally said. "Slow your breathing. Feel the mana flow, don’t force it, your Mana control is a little better, try harder"

Roman nodded.

He closed his eyes for a mont, took a deep breath, then tried again.

His hand moved slower. The glow returned. The lines locked into place—one rune, two runes, three.

The full spell circle ford.

Roman’s eyes widened. It was holding, it was working, but then a notification appeared in his head.

Imdiately, the notification appeared. Roman lost focus, but instead of the spell breaking down, it was already complete, so a fla arrow was created.

"Shit!!" Roman mouthed as it was pointing towards Ava, but before the arrow could be fired he pushed his hands sideways.

A small arrow of fire shot out suddenly from the circle, straight toward Ava’s bed.

It hit the sheets.

Smoke shot up, and a corner of the blanket started burning.
