Bruce nodded.

’To stabilize her mind when resistance failed to appear. The absence of pressure is often more dangerous than pressure itself. That calming essence, it’s a passive effect of one of my titles.’

For a long mont, Vaelith was silent.

The mana currents around the core slowed to a near standstill.

[...You did not break the world’s restriction,] Vaelith finally said. [...You carried her around it.]

It understood now.

Bruce smiled faintly.

’That’s the safest way.’

[...Nine rings,] Vaelith said.

Its voice trembled, not with fear, but emotion joy. It was naturally happening with such an advancent from an inhabitant of this world.

Vaelith could help but sigh as he said. [...For an inhabitant of this world... I am truly grateful. You cannot imagine how happy I am right now.]

[...But I am also shocked. What I witnessed borders on what I thought go be impossible.] Its glow sharpened. [...Even among world guardians, such manipulation is unheard of.]

Bruce t the hovering crystal calmly.

’I didn’t do it alone. Sophie’s focus, her will, her technique, those were hers. I only made sure the path didn’t collapse beneath her feet.’

Silence fell again.

Then,

[...You are dangerous, Bruce Ackerman,] Vaelith said. [...Not because of your power, but because of how precisely you use it.]

Bruce shrugged lightly.

’I’m a surgeon. Precision is the point.’

The core dimd slightly, then steadied. Vaelith wanted to ask what a surgeon was, but knowing Bruce, he knew that Bruce most of the ti never reveal stuff related to his past.

[...She will change the balance of this world,] Vaelith said at last.

Bruce glanced toward Sophie, who stood quietly nearby, still glowing faintly with her newly forged power.

’This is just the start of her rise,’ he said.

Not wanting the conversation to continue further, he simply said, ’That’s enough for today.’

Vaelith fell silent at once, the vast presence withdrawing without protest. Bruce didn’t bother indulging the world guardian’s lingering curiosity. He had said what needed to be said. With a calm thought, he issued another command, instructing Vaelith to return them to Sophie’s place.

Space folded.

In the next instant, they both vanished, and they were standing inside Sophie’s house once more. The sky outside was still dark, the world caught in that quiet stretch of ti a few hours before dawn. The intensity of what had just happened slowly bled away, replaced by a gentle exhaustion that settled into their bones.

Neither of them spoke much. Words felt unnecessary.

They simply looked at each other, exchanged a small, knowing smile, and headed toward the bedroom together. When they lay down, Sophie turned onto her side, facing him, her expression softer now, unguarded.

"I’ll co with you when the sun rises," she said quietly. "To visit your family. It’s been so long... I’m already missing Lily’s cuteness."

Bruce blinked, surprised for only a mont before warmth spread through his chest.

"Alright," he replied. "They’ll like that."

Her lips curved into a satisfied smile, and not long after, sleep claid them both.

When Bruce woke, the first thing he noticed was the empty space beside him.

The second was the nice sll.

Warm oil, eggs, sothing savory and comforting that imdiately grounded him in the mont. A faint smile tugged at his lips before he even opened his eyes fully. He already knew what was going on.

Pulling himself out of bed, he followed the scent to the kitchen. As expected, Sophie stood by the stove in casual clothes, her hair loosely tied back as she focused on the pan in front of her. She looked... normal, in the best way possible. It was just Sophie cooking breakfast like a normal girlfriend.

She glanced over her shoulder when she sensed him.

"Morning," she said with a smile. "You woke up fast."

"Hard not to," Bruce replied as he took a seat. "That slls good."

She laughed softly and finished plating the food, setting two olettes on the table before sitting across from him. They ate together without hurry, exchanging small, easy comnts, about how quiet the morning was, how unreal the night still felt, how she was still filled with gratitude that he had helped her through everything. It was simple conversation, but it ward him more than anything else had in a long ti.

When they were done, they prepared quickly. Sophie moved with her usual efficiency, while Bruce finished just as fast.

"Ready?" he asked.

She nodded.

Bruce pulled her into his arms, and the world blurred.

Less than a minute later, they arrived at his ho.

Sophie straightened instinctively, smoothing her clothes as if bracing herself out of habit. She glanced at the ti, then toward the street. "Your speed is as impressive as always," she said lightly.

Bruce was about to reply when Ash reacted.

The little dragon perked up instantly, crimson eyes lighting up as he sensed sothing familiar nearby. He wriggled in place, letting out an excited cry.

"Kyyy!"

That was all the warning Lily needed.

The front gate flew open as she rushed out, already halfway through a greeting before she fully registered what she was seeing. Then she froze.

Two figures stood in front of her.

For a heartbeat, she just stared, then her face lit up completely.

"BIG BROTHER!" Lily shouted, joy overflowing as she practically skipped forward. Her gaze snapped to Sophie, recognition sparking imdiately. "And, big Auntie Sophie?! You’re back too?!"

Her happiness was unfiltered as she looked between them, excitent bubbling over. "You both ca together?" she added, already bouncing on her feet.

She didn’t wait for an answer. Lily rushed in and hugged them both tightly. After pulling away from Sophie, she wrapped her arms around Bruce again and pouted, looking up at him. "Big Brother... you didn’t co back last night."

For just a split second, mories of their intense exercise from the night before surfaced in both Bruce’s and Sophie’s minds. It instantly made the two of them feel awkward.

"Cough, cough," Bruce coughed and said quickly. "I was helping Sophie with sothing important."

Sophie turned her face away, shoulders shaking slightly. As she tried hard not to laugh at Bruce awkwardness.
