The following day:
The venue and date were announced by the First Year Departnt Head, Derek. The venue is at their Training Ground. The duel will be held tomorrow.
The Training Ground has a huge expanse of land. The Beast Tar and the lifeline beast can fully utilize the land.
They can fight without worrying about hurting others. So people think Roo Barrett is at a disadvantage in his duel because he doesn't have this much space to duel.
If it were the Training Ground, then his hybrid bird lifeline beast could have unleashed its strong power. Many students have a favorable opinion of May Lindsey.
...
STRIKER Departnt:
"They are showing favor to her. She can use her lifeline beast well inside the vast ground," Betsy said with a frustrated tone.
"Harumph!"
"They must have thought Brother Jeremy doesn't have a strong lifeline beast," Daniel said with dissatisfaction as well.
Jeremy, who was sitting near them, frowned. He also heard a lot of noise. He found that so people were convinced that the previous duel was not held at a similar kind of place.
"Those who are slandering didn't see the duel live," Jeremy thought.
He was tired of proving himself to everyone. He believes once he defeats the two S-Graders, the debate will end once and for all.
Jeremy then spoke with the two before leaving the class. He was going toward the Joint Training Facility. Since his opponent is going to be S-Graders, he can't be careless.
She is totally different from Roo Barrett. He can't be careless.
About 20 minutes later,
He walked into the Joint Training Facility. The mbers there were surprised to see him. Not long ago, he defeated Roo Barrett here.
None of them ca forward to disturb him. Jeremy walked to the end of the corridor before finding his favorite practice room.
Seeing that no one was using it, he entered.
"Damn, he has co here to practice!"
"Don't know what will happen tomorrow."
"I think Miss May will defeat him for sure."
"Let's see how long he can carry his smug look."
The other departnt students were discussing among themselves, but they didn't have the courage to speak in front of Jeremy Night.
Inside the Training Room, Jeremy began to practice the explosive steps. He knows May Lindsey might try to attack him from a distance tomorrow.
If his speed is low, then he might be hit by her ice attack. He had not seen her ice elent's power, so he doesn't know how to judge it.
As ti passed, he continued to focus on practicing. Not long after taking a rest, he switched to Triple Rapid Cuts. Then he started to practice sword skills as well.
anwhile,
The students inside the Joint Training Facility shared the news of Jeremy Night. It didn't take long for the news to reach the ears of May Lindsey.
"Looks like he is feeling the pressure," her mouth curved into an arc.
She was aware of Jeremy Night's combat skills, so he had worked on her weaknesses. But she will see the results of her efforts tomorrow.
...
Dean's office:
"If the girl wins, then it will be fine. But if she fails to win tomorrow, then the Senior Students might challenge that kid," Dean Carolyn said with concern.
In front of her, the old man Derek was sitting in the chair.
"Dean, I think the guys in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th years have more important jobs to do. The beast invasion has shown them the harsh reality."
"I doubt they would try to bully that kid, Jeremy. Even if it happens, I will stop them," old man Derek gave his word.
It was his idea to hold the duel between Jeremy Night and May Lindsey at their first-year training ground.
Carolyn's eyes flashed with worry. She actually wanted Jeremy Night to win. But the S-Grade talent is indeed more powerful than the A-Grade talent.
Even if Jeremy's A-Grade talent can surpass Roo Barrett's Sword Talent, there is still a gap when it cos to S-Grade talent.
"Dean, are you worried?" old man Derek asked.
"I know that kid can fight across ranks. But that was possible at close quarters. What if the girl attacks him from a distance? The power of S-Grade Ice Elental is abnormal."
"It can even affect Tier-3 Beast Tars to so extent. So I don't know what the kid is going to do," Carolyn said in a solemn tone.
From her tone, it was evident that she was not optimistic about Jeremy's chances.
Old man Derek found it hard to refute. That kid was good in all aspects except for distance fighting.
But these problems are not big issues for the Beast Tars. They can be solved by using the lifeline beast.
Yet for Jeremy Night, it was the biggest obstacle. They didn't see Jeremy Night using his lifeline beast for tomorrow's duel as well.
"I have so natural fruits. I will give them to the kid. If he can consu these, he might increase his strength by one rank," old man Derek said.
Hearing that, Dean Carolyn said, "Good. I, too, have so treasures. But if I give them to the kid directly, he might rely too much on them."
"Don't worry, Dean. I won't give them to him for free. I have so missions in mind for that kid," Derek replied.
About 20 minutes later,
Old man Derek found that Jeremy was training at the Joint Training Facility. He was surprised. He thought that kid Jeremy would be carefree.
Now he thinks Jeremy understood the seriousness. There is a horror of the S-Grade talent.
He doesn't know whether the Lindsay family had any ice techniques that could complent that girl's ice talent.
If it's the case, then they can only pray for Jeremy's duel tomorrow.
Just as he was about to visit the Joint Training Facility, he saw Jeremy Night coming back from training.
His eyes flashed with surprise.
Swoosh!
With a thought, he appeared in front of him.
"Kid, how are you doing?" he asked.
Jeremy startled upon seeing the old man's sudden appearance.
