Training Ground:

Boom!

Seeing a massive snow wind tornado coming toward him, Jeremy was dumbfounded. He was prepared for everything, but this attack ca unexpectedly.

The cold was bone-chilling. Jeremy was frozen in place. He didn't know whether he could destroy the tornado with his Starlight blade.

Buzz!

Just as Jeremy was hesitating to respond, the unknown beast egg inside the ntal zone reacted. It felt pure and natural from the surroundings.

It started to absorb the natural energy from the snow wind tornado. Jeremy was taken aback. A mont ago, he was feeling bone-chilling coldness.

Now the cold was gone completely. He imdiately understood what was going on. His lifeline beast was absorbing the natural energy from the attack.

He figured it out in a fraction of a second. Jeremy's mouth curved into an arc. His lifeline beast was helping him right now. He didn't know whether it was intentional or unintentional.

But he was going to use this opportunity.

Swoosh!

Jeremy started retreating; the snow tornado continued to follow him. With the help of his unknown egg lifeline beast, he was able to withstand the coldness.

At the sa ti, the unknown egg was getting free resources of natural energy.

As ti passed, the snow tornado started to get weaker. It was losing its energy in the blink of an eye.

Hoo-hoo-hoo!

The Snow Owl was puzzled. Its attack was supposed to have taken down the opponent. Yet the opponent was freely moving around, chased by the snow wind tornado.

Instead of the opponent, the tornado was getting weakened.

The Snow Owl lifeline beast's emotions were felt by May Lindsey as well. Her eyes flashed with doubt. She didn't know what was going on.

She could tell that the 20-foot size tornado attack had beco less than 10 feet. She didn't know what was weakening her lifeline beast's attack.

"Interesting," the old man Derek muttered to himself.

Because he could see Jeremy Night was absorbing the energy from the tornado. At first, he hadn't noticed it either.

But as ti went on, he found out that Jeremy Night was weakening the attack.

"This kid?"

"What ability else does he have?" he thought.

He wondered whether Jeremy Night was using his lifeline beast's ability.

Gasp!

The students exclaid in surprise. Everyone was making fun of Jeremy Night a few minutes ago. Now they felt as if their faces had been slapped.

Jeremy Night remained unhurt. Yet the massive tornado had beco a small-sized tornado.

"Do you think Jeremy Night is using his lifeline beast ability?"

"It must be his lifeline beast."

"Such a formidable lifeline beast. It's absorbing the enemy's attack."

"Damn, no wonder he was fearless."

"Note it down!"

"We know about Jeremy Night's lifeline beast ability right now."

The students discussed among themselves, as if they had discovered a huge secret about Jeremy Night's lifeline beast.

The departnt instructors were surprised as well. This was the first ti they were able to learn about Jeremy's lifeline beast ability.

Though Jeremy Night didn't summon it, the lifeline beast's ability alone shocked them. Imagine if Jeremy could use this absorption ability against the opponent's lifeline beast attack.

Then he would be basically unbeatable. The instructors looked at each other's faces in shock because they knew Jeremy's profile information was confidential.

They couldn't view it unless their Dean Carolyn permitted it. But they didn't know their dean herself couldn't view Jeremy's profile.

"Is it his lifeline beast?" Ariel Burt asked.

"To be honest, I don't even know," Jacob said with a smile.

He knew that Jeremy's profile information was confidential, so it was their first ti learning about Jeremy Night's lifeline beast ability.

Betsy Lowe and Daniel Stone were shocked. They were impressed by the lifeline beast's ability. If they could have such a lifeline beast's ability, then they could enter the wilderness without any worry.

"Looks like Jeremy will win. We were worried unnecessarily for him," Betsy said with a chuckle.

"No wonder Brother Jeremy was confident," Daniel Stone muttered with relief.

Now they didn't have any pressure. But the pressure was on the other side. Everyone was expecting the S-Grader to do well. If May Lindsey lost the battle, it would be a humiliation for all the S-Graders.

"This is unbelievable," Victor Scott said while watching the duel.

He could hear people's conversations as well.

"Lifeline beast ability," his expression darkened.

He didn't know whether Jeremy could use this ability against him.

Because he used poison, if Jeremy Night used this ability against him, maybe he would receive backlash. Thinking about it, his mood beca better.

"Having Spider Lord Talent is not bad," Victor Scott said to himself.

He thought his talent was better than May Lindsey's when facing Jeremy Night.

Ti passed.

Hoo-hoo-hoo!

The Snow Owl was trying to increase the wind energy again. It was flapping its wings hard. Yet the tornado was a sign of collapse as it ran out of energy.

As ti passed, the snow wind tornado collapsed. In the blink of an eye, the ground returned to normal. There was no sign of snow wind energy whatsoever.

Gasp!

Jeremy Night gasped for breath. In order to let his lifeline beast absorb all the energy from the tornado, he had been running around tirelessly.

Now that the snow wind tornado was gone, he could attack.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night started sprinting toward May Lindsey. He didn't want to give her another chance. The snow wind tornado had already surprised him.

He didn't want to face another similar attack.

Hoo-hoo-hoo!

The Snow Owl charged toward the opponent.

Jeremy's eyes flickered. He didn't stop but continued his sprint.

When the Snow Owl beast got closer to him, Jeremy was able to see its movents clearly. The Snow Owl beast wanted to tear him down with its talons.

SWOOSH!

Jeremy evaded the attack before running toward May Lindsey. The Snow Owl caught the empty air with its talons. It had missed catching the opponent.

Boom!

May Lindsey shot ice spikes continuously at Jeremy Night.

Swoosh!

The sharp ice spikes moved at fast speed toward the opponent with a whistling sound.

By the ti the attack reached Jeremy Night, he had finished imbuing the starlight energy in it.

Cut!

His starlight blade t the ice spikes. All of them were getting destroyed one by one.

Jeremy paused for a mont before destroying the ice spikes. Once he destroyed the ice spikes completely, he decided to implent his final plan.

A couple of seconds later,

He began dashing toward May Lindsey using the explosive steps.

A powerful force generated under his feet, which imdiately increased his speed.

Swoosh!

This sudden burst of speed surprised everyone watching the duel.

In the blink of an eye, he reached her.

May Lindsey's eyes flashed with fear. She was caught off guard by his sudden increase in speed. Her Snow Owl was coming to her side. But Jeremy didn't plan on giving her any chance.

Before she could attack, he appeared before her. Instead of using the blade, he used the handle to knock her out.

Tud!

May Lindsey felt sothing strike her head. The next second, she felt her mind go blank. Then she dropped to the ground.

Hoo-hoo-hoo!

The Snow Owl made a sound before disappearing back to her ntal zone. This all happened within a minute.

Phew!

Jeremy heaved a sigh of relief. The explosive steps and triple rapid cuts were his trump cards. He thought the triple rapid cuts might co in handy.

But he used the movent technique in the end.

Gasp!

A loud exclamation sounded among the students who were watching the duel right now. May Lindsey was knocked out before their eyes.

The Snow Owl was rendered helpless without the Beast Tar. It was forced to go back.

Everyone saw Jeremy Night had used so kind of movent technique to increase his speed. It not only caught May Lindsey off guard; it also surprised everyone.

Swoosh!

"Kid!"

"So this was your trump card. You cleverly used it against your opponent," Old Man Derek said to Jeremy after appearing before him.

He recognized the movent technique called "The Explosive Steps."

He had thought that the kid might use so kind of ability as a trump card. But the explosive steps were not on his list.

A mix of emotions flashed in his eyes. Before, no one was optimistic about Jeremy Night's duel against May Lindsey.

But he had proven everyone wrong in this duel. He had the strength to defeat an S-Grader. That too, he defeated the opponent and her lifeline beast as a STRIKER without summoning his lifeline beast.

Jeremy was not in the mood to talk. He was beaming with happiness. His heart was at ease. He had done sothing remarkable.

He defeated an S-Grade Beast Tar with the sa power using his A-Grade talent.

Old Man Derek saw that Jeremy was digesting the mont.

He turned toward the crowd and said, "May Lindsey was knocked out. She was unable to continue the duel. So the winner is Jeremy Night," he announced to everyone.
