Jeremy's eyes narrowed. He didn't want to use the starlight energy right now. He gripped the katana in his right hand tightly. His gaze locked onto the Tier-3 Corrupted Beast.
The Tier-3 Dog Corrupted Beast was growling in a low tone. It found the human prey hard to deal with. It waited for a few seconds before charging towards him.
The Beast sprinted forward so fast that it appeared in front of Jeremy in a few steps. Jeremy then carefully targeted the weakest area, which was the neck.
Stab!
He sidestepped at the right mont before thrusting the katana forward to stab. The blade ca in contact with the neck area.
At the sa ti, the Beast's sharp nails touched his body as well. A sharp glint flashed in Jeremy's eyes. He didn't want to retreat at this mont.
His katana blade was an inch away from stabbing the neck, so he confronted it.
Pfff!
The katana blade felt low resistance, so the blade managed to go inside the skin. Blood started to pour like water.
At the sa ti, the Beast's sharp nails left a scratch on his body. Jeremy felt a burning pain on his skin upon contact.
Thrust!
But he decisively plunged forward to deliver a heavy blow. The katana blade went further inside. The Dog Beast scread in pain.
Before the dog beast could do anything, he retreated backward. The katana blade left behind a serious hole in the neck, where blood was pouring out even more now.
If Jeremy left it like that, then the Tier-3 Corrupted Beast would bleed to death. There was no need for him to take further action.
But upon seeing the dog beast in pain, he noticed the razor-sharp teeth waiting to bite him.
Slice!
He moved forward, bringing his katana blade vertically downward to separate the neck. His actions were clean and smooth.
The Tier-3 Dog Beast's head was cut off. The decapitated head rolled on the ground. Blood started coming from the severed area.
Jeremy didn't waste any ti. He hurriedly moved forward to the location.
Shortly afterward,
He arrived at the lookout post. He saw a man-made tent. Right now, it was in tatters. The area around the tent was vandalized as well.
It appeared that sothing had happened. Seeing that, Jeremy walked quickly. When he got closer to the tent, he got a clear look.
There were Beast Tars in front fighting against the Corrupted Beasts. Corpses of the slain corrupted beasts were mounted on the other side.
It was the first ti he witnessed sothing like this. He had been to the wilderness with his Night Family Team before. But even during that ti, he hadn't co across such a situation.
Jeremy didn't know what to do. He carefully looked around to see if anyone needed help.
"DON'T LET ANYONE OF THEM REACH THE CITY WALL!"
Soone in front shouted. Hearing that, Jeremy understood the situation. The team here was getting overwheld by the number of Corrupted Beasts.
Jeremy quickly channeled the starlight energy to cover the katana blade with starlight power. So far, no one had noticed his presence, including the corrupted beasts.
They were not far away from him. It was just that everyone was busy holding the beasts back. Jeremy sensed a crisis ahead.
The ominous feeling was not comparable to that of the Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts. It was much more sinister than that.
Swoosh!
Suddenly, the Beast Tars fighting in front failed to contain one of the corrupted beasts. Because of this, the beast slipped away from them and started rushing towards the City Wall.
Jeremy, who was standing in its way, was ready to confront it. It was another Tier-3 Corrupted Beast. The beast charging forward sensed no danger ahead.
But when it got further away from the front line, it saw a human prey hiding in its way. The Tier-3 Corrupted Beast charged forward without fear.
The Beast Tars in front realized that one of the low-tier beasts had slipped away. But they could only let it go, as they were clearing out other corrupted beasts in front.
Swoosh!
The starlight-filled katana blade shone. The light was so bright that the beast closed its eyes for a mont.
Slice!
Jeremy took the opportunity to strike forward. His katana blade danced in the air before striking the beast's body with great precision.
Stab!
After several slashes and stabs, the Tier-3 Corrupted Beast stopped breathing. Jeremy's eyes flickered. He didn't want to disturb the people in front.
More importantly, he sensed the ominous aura coming from beasts above Tier-3. Jeremy didn't want to beco cannon fodder.
His mission was just to patrol the city wall border. Instead, he had helped the Patrol Team by killing several beasts. So he chose to hide here and wait for any slipped-away beasts to attack.
Ti passed,
The Beast Tars in front gained the upper hand as ti went on. More Corrupted Beasts started sustaining injuries. Due to their injuries, their hunting speed was slowed down.
So of the beasts started retreating under the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts' command. From ti to ti, the Corrupted Beasts launched surprise attacks to test the defenses of the human prey.
This ti, the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts had helped a couple of Tier-3 and many Tier-2 Corrupted Beasts reach the City Wall. If the Patrol Team was not strong, then the Tier-3 Corrupted Beasts would have been enough to cause serious damage to them.
Jeremy hadn't seen another beast slip away. Because of this, he waited patiently. When he saw that so of the Corrupted Beasts fled back in fear, he thought the situation was back under control.
He noticed it didn't take long for the Beast Tars to relax as well. Besides, the corpses of the corrupted beasts were piled up like mountains.
Seeing that, Jeremy's eyes turned solemn. He could only imagine how the pressure must have felt. The Beast Tars in front had to stop the Tier-4 Corrupted Beasts, but they also had to focus on eliminating other low-tier beasts.
Jeremy felt even more motivated to improve his strength.
