5th Zone, City A
The Wooden Crown Shop:
Jeremy Night was browsing through handmade crafts, but they appeared to be old. They were created before the mutation era.
However, the crafts were beautifully preserved. He went to the next shelf and saw that it held jewelry.
His eyes flashed with a glint as he examined the antique jewelry, but the unknown beast egg inside his ntal zone didn’t react at all.
He felt disappointed. Then, he went to the next shelf.
An old woman was seated behind the desk, reading a book. From ti to ti, she would look up at the young man.
She initially thought the young man had co here just to pass the ti, but she changed her opinion quickly. She found that the young man was serious in his search.
About 20 minutes later, Jeremy hadn’t found anything useful. The unknown beast egg hadn’t reacted at all. He decided to leave the place.
Just as he was about to leave, he heard the old woman’s words.
"What happened?"
Hearing that, he turned around and looked at the old woman.
"I ca to find antique items affected by the mutation," he said to her.
The old woman was surprised. She had not seen many people with this hobby.
However, those who had such hobbies usually possessed talent or a lifeline beast related to mutated antique items, so she understood.
She opened her desk drawer. There was a silver-plated storage box inside. The old woman took the storage box and placed it on the table.
Seeing that, Jeremy Night was shocked. He didn’t expect the old woman to take out such an item.
She opened the storage box. A glass vial filled with unknown glowing grains ca into view.
Jeremy was stunned. He hadn’t seen this type of grain before. The old woman noticed the young man’s reaction and was satisfied.
"These are called mutated sand grains. I found them during my pri days while exploring the big lake inside the Unexplored Area," she said.
Jeremy Night was shocked. He had heard about the Unexplored Area, but he didn’t expect to et soone who had explored that place.
Unfortunately, the unknown egg didn’t react imdiately. He was about to say no to her when he finally sensed a reaction from the unknown beast egg. It was subtle.
His eyes glinted with understanding. He decided to test it.
"Do you have anything else?" he asked the old woman.
The old woman was taken aback. She didn’t expect the Tier-2 young man to be so calm and composed.
"Wait here." After saying that, the old woman stood up and went inside a room.
Jeremy stayed there. He didn’t know what the old woman was going to bring out, but the glowing sand grains gave him hope.
However, the reaction from the unknown beast egg wasn’t that big. It showed that the energy was not high enough. He hoped the old woman would bring sothing useful.
A few minutes later, the old woman brought out another storage box. Seeing that, Jeremy’s eyes flashed with expectation. It was a wide, rectangular storage box.
The old woman placed it on the table and opened it. A blue, rectangular blue stone lay inside the glass container. The glass was not ordinary; it was specially made.
Buzz!
The unknown beast egg inside the ntal zone reacted strongly.
A sharp glint flashed in Jeremy Night’s eyes. His heartbeat started to increase. His guess was right; the unknown beast egg reacted to the mutated item.
So mutated items were easily recognized, while others were neglected, like the green pearl in that necklace.
Hereafter, he wouldn’t have to look for treasures everywhere. He could directly buy the mutated items.
The old woman watched the young man’s reaction. She was right. The young man’s reaction confird her guess.
"Either the kid has a talent that can use the mutated items without backlash, or his lifeline beast can use mutated items," she thought.
In either case, such Beast Tars were rare.
She asked, "Young man, what do you think of this mutated item?"
Hearing that, Jeremy collected his thoughts. He didn’t know that the old woman had already figured him out.
Jeremy said, "I’m interested in buying this stone."
The old woman smiled and said, "Unfortunately, it is not for sale."
The old woman’s words shocked him.
"Mutated items are not easy to find. Especially since this is not an object, but a naturally ford stone that stores imnse energy."
"Not everyone can use the energy stored inside. If anyone tried to use it, their bodies would burst open," the old woman said.
"Higher-tier Beast Tars require more natural energy, so the mutated stone is not useful to them," she added further.
Jeremy Night was shaken to the core. He didn’t expect her to figure out his plan. It appeared he was not the only one who used mutated stones for a breakthrough.
Quiet!
Jeremy Night beca quiet for a few seconds.
The old woman was smiling. She realized that the young man understood everything.
She let out a chuckle before saying, "Don’t worry, young man. This mutated stone seems to be useful to you. So, I will sell it to you."
Phew!
Jeremy heaved a sigh of relief. He was worried that he wouldn’t get the item.
"How much?" he asked.
"Like I told you earlier, it was not easy to get. So, give 50,000 credit points," the old woman said.
Jeremy was stunned. The price was higher than he had expected, but he was ready to buy it.
"Okay, I’ll pay." After saying that, he asked for her account details before paying the amount.
Then, the old woman gave him the storage box containing the rectangular mutated stone.
Jeremy took the item and stored it inside his ring. Then he left the shop. He wanted to go back to the organization as soon as possible.
He had a feeling that he would achieve a breakthrough this ti. The Tier-3 strength goal was not far away for him.
