5th Zone, City A
Ti went by,
The 48th Team mbers realized the seriousness of the matter.
Leader Norman and the other mbers found it hard to believe because the local news dia was showing that the deaths of the Skull Gang mbers matched the raid ti.
Leader Norman was in disbelief. He was sure that they didn’t kill anyone. They only raided the underground basent club. They never raided the second place.
So, he thought soone or so group might have targeted and killed the four Skull Gang mbers. He hoped that his team wouldn’t be targeted.
Max, the Tier-5 Beast Tar, was puzzled as well because he knew that the shady street was empty that day. No one was seen walking on the street.
He then thought of one particular person. That person was none other than the young man, Jeremy. Max shook his head because he had told Jeremy Night to leave the place at that ti.
If what was shown in the dia was true, then the young man could have witnessed the fight. He had thought of it as a joke. He doubted whether young Jeremy Night witnessed such an incident or not.
But he didn’t even think for a second that Jeremy Night was the one who attacked and killed the four Skull Gang mbers.
Not only were the 48th Team mbers thinking like that, but the other teams also thought soone else had taken down the four illegal gang mbers. But the bla landed on their Red Moon Chamber.
Head Office
That evening, Head Harold got a call from the City Governor’s office. He was surprised. It was a call from one of the City Governors.
He asked about the Skull Gang raid mission. It was the mission given by him, but he didn’t order them to kill their gang mbers. He wanted to know whether the Red Moon Chamber Team had crossed the line.
Head Harold was shocked. But he was sure that the team mbers didn’t do such actions because it was the 48th Team. They wouldn’t dare to go against his order. So, Head Harold started to defend his team.
The City Governor was then convinced that Head Harold was speaking the truth. Why would he lie to him? The consequences for lying would be severe.
The City Governor then ended the call after getting confirmation. Head Harold’s eyes sharpened. It may have seed the city was bright without any trouble, but the undercurrents were surging.
The factions were in competition with each other. He thought soone must have spread malicious rumors against them. It could be the campaign of Silver Dominion and Ashen Circle.
Head Harold thought they must have been the reason behind this rumor.
But he wanted to confirm sothing now. He summoned the 48th Team to his office. He had only read the reports; he didn’t even et them in person. Right now, he wanted to see them and learn things from their own mouths.
On the other hand, Leader Norman and the others were shocked. They didn’t know why Head Harold was summoning them, but they didn’t dare to disobey.
Leader Norman could guess sothing already. Before going to Head Harold’s office, he warned the others not to talk about Jeremy Night. If Head Harold found out, they could face severe punishnt.
The female Beast Tar, Lily, sighed. She had a different opinion, but for her team’s sake, she was quiet.
Max also warned the others. He told them that soone was targeting them by putting false bla on them, so it was necessary not to reveal the involvent of Jeremy Night.
If they did, they would beco the laughingstock of not only the Red Moon Chamber but also the whole city.
Max once again warned them. He didn’t want them to loose-talk to Head Harold. If Head Harold found a clue, it would be hard for them to hide the matter.
The other mbers were scared. But in the end, everyone decided not to talk about Jeremy Night. Then they went to Head Harold’s office.
Creak!
Upon entering the office room, they all stood in front of Head Harold’s desk. Including the team leader, there were ten mbers there.
Harold’s gaze fell on them. His gaze then locked on Leader Norman and Max. They were the Tier-5 Beast Tars on the team.
"You are Norman, right? Tell what happened," Harold asked.
He had read the reports, so he knew the nas of the Beast Tars.
Leader Norman was stunned. Then he collected his thoughts.
He said, "Head, we went to the shady street to do our mission that day. But the whole street was empty during the middle of the night."
"Then we went to the underground club and raided the place. Everything went smoothly. Not even a big fight occurred. The authorities then took the criminals back to the prison cell," he added.
Hearing that, the other mbers nodded their heads.
Max was vigilant. He was worried that Head Harold could cross-question them because Norman’s explanation was simple.
The next second, Head Harold started cross-questioning the others, but not Leader Norman. The other mbers were dumbfounded.
They were panicking inside. Yet, they were able to give the sa answers without doubt.
Finally, Max was asked a couple of questions. He answered them carefully. It filled the potential loopholes.
The other mbers were obviously shocked in their hearts. Max did better than them. Head Harold won’t be asking similar questions again.
Head Harold narrowed his eyes. He found sothing was not right, but he didn’t know what it was. He then began to ponder.
He realized that their mission reporting was simple. It was so simple that it was hard to believe their words.
"You guys are telling that you have completed the cri-fighting mission easily? That too, against one of the illegal organizations, the Skull Gang mbers?" Head Harold said with a smile.
Hearing that, everyone shuddered. Leader Norman’s heart skipped a beat. He realized that they had underestimated Head Harold. It was not easy to fool him.
Max was shocked as well. He had thought there was no loophole. After hearing Head Harold’s words, he realized the mistake as well.
