5th Zone, City A
Jeremy Night went with Senior linda’s team. They didn’t follow the other groups; instead, they separated and entered one of the many isolated streets in the city.
The Team Leader, linda, had a plan. She was a native here and had known of many suspicious places since her childhood.
She hadn’t bothered to investigate them earlier, but now she had the chance. She wanted to know what was going on in those places.
Next, the Investigation Begins. Everyone wanted to know what was on Team Leader linda’s mind.
A few minutes later,
linda and the team walking on the road. Since there was no ti limit for the mission, she was quite relaxed.
Jeremy followed from behind. He noticed Theo and Freya looking at him from ti to ti, their gazes filled with contempt and disdain. They were not convinced that a newcor could take care of them.
Jeremy ignored them, focusing instead on the surroundings. His eyesight was better than the others; he could catch any anomaly.
He didn’t know what was wrong with the City Governors.
They wanted the Beast Tars to find the hideouts, yet they had publicly revealed their statent. At this point, the criminals could easily retreat further into hiding.
Ti went by, and linda stopped in front of one of the run-down buildings.
Seeing this, the team mbers were surprised. They didn’t know why the team leader was here. Everyone turned toward the old building.
linda’s gaze sharpened. This was one of the suspicious buildings, and she decided to go in and investigate.
She could have used her Lifeline beast for the search, but she didn’t want to do that.
If anything happened to a Lifeline beast, it would affect her ntal zone. Beast Tars rarely use their Lifeline beasts unless it is absolutely necessary.
"I’m going inside with the Tier-5 Beast Tars. The Tier-4 Beast Tars should assist from behind. As for the Tier-3 Beast Tar, they should stay outside and guard the place. Don’t allow anyone near," linda ordered.
After saying that, linda entered with two other mbers. The four Tier-4 Beast Tars looked at each other before following.
Theo and Freya exchanged a look; clearly, they were unwilling to stay back and wanted to join the search operation. Then they saw the newcor observing the area.
"Hmph," Freya snorted before starting her work. Theo went to the back of the building to guard.
Seeing these actions, Jeremy didn’t say anything. Instead, he used his eye ability to scan the building. His second eye ability gave him the power of X-ray vision. He saw the walls beco transparent.
The four-story building appeared empty. linda and the team were searching the first floor.
He realized Senior linda had picked this building right away, as if she knew sothing about it. His gaze moved further. The second floor was empty as well.
Unlike the others, the third floor was filled with items; there was no space to even move inside. He found no signs of life there.
Finally, he checked the top floor. His gaze penetrated the walls to find it empty and dirty. It looked as though it hadn’t been opened in years.
Jeremy withdrew his gaze and waited. He had checked the whole building, yet the team leader was taking her ti. He wondered if he should just go on a solo mission.
Ti went by,
Senior linda and the mbers returned an hour later. Her gaze fell on everyone, including Jeremy Night.
"This was one of the suspicious buildings on my list," she said. "We have thoroughly checked it. It was not a hideout. We can move to the next place."
Everyone agreed and resud the journey. linda walked forward while Jeremy followed behind Theo and Freya.
The team mbers were chatting and laughing. It didn’t feel like a typical mission; everyone had let down their guard. They forgot that it was entirely possible to encounter criminals at any mont.
Jeremy, however, remained naturally vigilant. His senses were powerful, and he overheard the conversations, morizing the nas of his team mbers. Theo and Freya kept an eye on him, but he avoided speaking to them.
Ti went by,
By the next morning, the team was tired and wanted a break. They rested in a large park located between two residential areas.
The mbers split up and started walking around the facilities. Jeremy was left alone, but he didn’t feel isolated. Instead, he used the opportunity to observe.
Out of curiosity, he activated his second eye ability. The park grounds beca transparent. Suddenly, his gaze paused on a tunnel access hatch. Beneath it, he saw an underground tunnel.
A sense of unease rose in his heart. In the dark tunnel, a stream of drainage water flowed. A second later, he saw movent, a human-like figure walking through the passage.
"Don’t tell ... is this one of the hideouts?" Jeremy thought.
The tunnel was an ideal place for criminals to hide. He had just caught the silhouette of soone. He wasn’t sure if he should check it out himself or inform the City officials.
The Red Moon Chamber had already offended the Skull Gang; there was no point in making a new enemy while the rest of his team wasn’t even taking the mission seriously.
Jeremy sees that other mbers are taking a stroll around the park. They weren’t aware of the danger. If the criminals were to attack now, then the mbers would suffer.
He sighed in his heart and continued to observe the underground tunnel. Not long after, one more person hunched back walking through the passage.
It was the second figure he spotted this ti. It’s necessary to know whether they were criminals or holess people.
At this ti, linda saw Jeremy Night was sitting alone. She shook her head before approaching him.
She then raised her eyebrows watching Jeremy’s reaction. She then followed his gaze and her gaze fell on the hatch.
She stopped her footsteps and her eyes glead with a twinkle.
