City B-Wilderness
Jeremy Night understood that he had low chances of escaping unscathed. He put away his handgun and held the katana tightly.
He covered the blade edge with the starlight thread.
He was already feeling terrible pain in his organs. He was hurt, but he had no chance for distraction. He had figured out the weakness of the beast.
Boom!
The insect beast turned around and charged towards him. The massive beast wanted to squash the human. Though it was blind, it was using its senses to find his accurate location.
Jeremy didn’t move from the spot. Instead, he held the katana tightly and executed the "Blade One" move.
He felt a mysterious power in the blade as he executed the move. He realized it could be the result of an interdiate sword skill.
Cut!
The blade went in a wide arc. It followed the trajectory of the Blade One move. Just as the beast appeared above him, he moved and targeted the abdon.
The starlight blade swept across the abdon. Combined with the Blade One move, the blade went smoothly into the skin before widening the cut.
Puckak!
A deep red line appeared on the abdon. The next second, a torrent of blood gushed forth from the wound.
Shriek!
The insect beast was injured again. It was already bleeding from its compound eyes. This ti, it worsened the condition of the beast.
Swoosh!
In a blur, the insect beast moved away from the spot. Jeremy could only see a blur in his eyes. The movent speed of the insect beast was undoubtedly fast; he was no match for the beast.
Even so, he had hurt the insect beast badly. He stood up and fled from the place. He was going to the next destination. Obviously, his speed was slow because of the internal injuries.
He also didn’t want to co across other beasts. He doubted the insect beast would co back again. He had inflicted a terrible injury to the eyes and abdon, the weakest areas of the insect beast.
Ti passed.
He found another secluded spot near a mountain rock. He climbed the mountain rock and found crevices there. He entered one of the crevices and checked the place.
He didn’t find any presence of corrupted beasts. Only a small human body could enter the crevice. He doubted there would be any higher-tier beast with a smaller size.
After entering, he leaned back against the wall. Then, he took the healing herbs from the storage ring.
Before coming here, he had necessary items sorted in the ring. They ca in handy right now. He considered the herbal treasures one by one.
When the healing energy entered his stomach, he imdiately felt a sense of relief. He knew it was not over yet. In his internal vision, he saw the injured parts.
He closed his eyes and started running the inner breathing thod. The natural energy from the surroundings entered his body.
He guided the energy according to the route. When the energy flowed through the passage, the injured spots were healed automatically. Fortunately, his veins and ridians were stronger.
The purple tinge in his veins was especially special. To this day, he doesn’t know what it was. He believed it was one of the reasons for his strong veins and ridians, but he didn’t have ti to experint.
What’s more, he felt different while performing the blade move. He knew his sword skill had improved. His current progression was at an interdiate stage, but the power was sothing else.
He couldn’t find the answer because of a lack of knowledge. He decided to seek more knowledge once he was done with the mission.
Ti passed.
He spent another night healing his internal injuries. He had consud all the healing resources. Combined with the healing internal energy, his injuries were all gone.
The next morning, he woke up and resud his journey. This ti he was cautious. He did not use the exposed vacant land.
He used the cover of the vegetation to move forward. His eye ability was helping him to avoid the corrupted beasts.
A few hours later,
He reached the destination. He heaved a sigh of relief. He had been delayed by various factors, but now that he had reached the destination, he was sure to find the rumored relic.
Right now, there was a crowd gathered in front of an old ruined palace. He had read sothing about it. Even before the mutation era, this place was considered to be a ruin.
After the mutation era, this place had changed. Those who had explored it at that ti had died under mysterious circumstances. The reason for the deaths was unknown.
Later, people stopped coming. Now, because of the rumors, the Beast Tars had co to the place. Still, this ruin was only one of the possible locations.
No one was sure that the rumored relic was hidden here. Since the place was connected with the mysterious deaths, so thought that it could be related to the relic.
Jeremy frowned. He was not in a hurry to get close. He was going to use his x-ray vision from a safe distance.
He had been to dangerous areas before, especially the Black Lake back in his hotown.
He knew what the mutation had done to so of these places. He thought the old ruin in front of him could be similar.
So, he wouldn’t get near. If he didn’t find anything, then he would leave.
He started using his x-ray vision. Everything beca transparent in his eyes. His gaze passed through the old structures.
His gaze ca across old debris and broken items. His gaze went even deeper. Obviously, his vision could only go a few ters underground.
He didn’t find anything except the rock. He didn’t give up. He spent a good hour exploring the place through his eyes.
He didn’t find anything. He started to think whether the rumored relic was actually a rumor. It would be a waste of ti.
He didn’t co to any conclusions. There was still one last place on the list. It was also the least visited place on the list.
"Ruins of the old city," Jeremy uttered.
No one went to the place because the place was a habitat for corrupted beasts. It had been taken over by the corrupted beasts. No Beast Tars went there except for a mission.
