Huo Shen, Are You Sick?

After saying that, An Xiaowan pushed the three dishes to the center of the table.
Suddenly, Huo Shen’s hand that had just picked up his chopsticks dropped heavily on the table. A look of displeasure flashed across his narrowing eyes.
At that moment, the air seemed to turn cold and stifling.
Lu Yange nodded his head eagerly, swiftly reached out and picked the food with his chopsticks, and put them in his mouth.
As he started eating the food, Lu Yange’s eyes lit up. “Hey, it’s very good! But it tastes different from what your cooks would usually prepare.” Looking at Huo Shen, he asked with curiosity, “Have you changed cooks?”
As he spoke, he delightfully picked more food with his chopsticks and put them in his bowl.
Although the dishes were presented poorly, they were superb in taste and also fresh, cooked with just the right spices and temperature for perfect softness.
It tasted just like… a good home-cooked food.
The surrounding air temperature dropped a few degrees more.
Huo Shen’s handsome face was clouded with gloom, his eyes dark like an endless abyss. It was impossible to perceive his thoughts.
Sensing something wrong, An Xiaowan turned to look at Huo Shen.
On the other hand, the gluttonous Lu Yange was still pletely oblivious. When he was done with the food in his bowl, he extended his claws towards other dishes for more. To top it all off, he continued his praises with a mouthful of food. “The food is absolutely delicious. Brother Huo, which cook is this, can I borrow him for a few days?”
Right after he said that the air temperature went from cold to freezing point as if you could hear the ice crack any moment now.
Huo Shen put down his chopsticks and raised his eyes to look at An Xiaowan. There was a strange smile looming on his face and eyes. It made one uncertain if it was truly a smile and yet made one feel rather unnerving.
An Xiaowan blinked hard, not quite understanding what was going on in Huo Shen’s mind.
Could it be Huo Shen was unhappy about her casually chatting with Lu Yange?
“Hmm, it was possible. He is an extremely possessive and stubborn man…”
An Xiaowan thought to herself.
With that in mind, An Xiaowan hastily tried to explain, “Young Master Lu, I was the one who prepared these dishes…” As she said that, she used her chopsticks and picked up food from one of the dishes that Huo Shen had earlier eaten. She then brought the food to Huo Shen’s lips in an attempt to serve him.
However, Huo Shen’s didn’t reciprocate to her actions, and his lips tightened even more.
As he heard An Xiaowan, Lu Yange suddenly coughed and sprayed almost all the food from his mouth.
Lu Yange hurriedly put down his chopsticks, terror rapidly covering his handsome face.
“Oh god… one must always watch what es out of his mouth and what goes in!”
Lu Yange silently scolded himself.
“Brother Huo, please don’t take my words seriously just now…” Following which, he quickly wiped his mouth and stood up, preparing for his escape.
“Well… I just remembered I have something to do. Guess I’ll make a move first, Brother Huo, I’ll drop by again another time!”
An Xiaowan looked up just in time to catch Lu Yange’s shadow before it disappeared in a flash. Then she turned back and met with Huo Shen’s mystifying dark eyes. His eyes staring right at her made her suddenly jump with fright.
She immediately calmed herself down, then swiftly lifted her leg to sit on Huo Shen’s lap.
An Xiaowan moved her hands, snaking them around Huo Shen’s neck, as she put on a tantalizing and seductive smile. “Mr. Huo, are you sure you don’t want to try my cooking?”
“I don’t want anything that can be tasted by just anyone.”
Huo Shen’s face was icy cold, the corner of his mouth curled into an arc of disdain.
With a flick of his slender fingers, he tipped the dish in her hand onto the floor.
An Xiaowan stared in disbelief. Her two hours of hard work, now splattered all over the floor in a split second.
The loud noise of the plate being smashed startled everyone.
Assistant Luo and the butler were also stunned, both turned to first look at Huo Shen, then at An Xiaowan.
There was dead silence.
A frown appeared between An Xiaowan’s brows, and she was burning with rage. She could not bear it any longer.
She suddenly stood up and broke smiled bitterly.
“You won’t taste it, and you also won’t let others taste it. How senseless!”
An Xiaowan’s hair, tied up in a bun, suddenly fell around her face. It made her look even more enchanting.
She took one step nearer to Huo Shen and said in a cold voice, “Just like how you have hidden something lovely in your house, that you don’t let anybody touch and neither would you touch yourself. Mr. Huo, don’t you think that’s kind of sick?”
Everyone in the house gasped and held their breath.
