Her voice, although not loud, possessed a natural affinity, like a gentle breeze calming one’s heart naturally.
The commotion at the scene diminished sowhat.
Sumr Sutton wanted to check the situation with other staff, but as soon as she took a step, a sudden crackling sound ca from above, accompanied by the flas of burning wires.
Soone scread beside her, "Oh my god!"
Sumr had yet to grasp the situation when a figure suddenly lunged at her with lightning speed in the darkness, causing both their bodies to crash heavily onto the floor behind them...
Imdiately followed by a huge crashing sound behind them, sothing dull fell from above.
The spot where it landed was precisely where Sumr Sutton had been standing.
Everything happened so abruptly that Sumr’s mind froze for several seconds.
She regained her senses amid the thick scent of blood carried by the wind.
Soone among the workers used a flashlight and shone it in Sumr’s direction.
Seeing her lying on the ground with a man pressed against her, the worker seed startled.
"Mr. Walyon..."
The familiar address left Sumr montarily stunned, her gaze shifting abruptly to the man still pressed against her.
The one who had just saved her was Ryan Walyon.
His body shielded hers, seemingly injured, with tightly knit brows, teeth clenched, and his complexion pale.
Sumr snapped out of her daze in seconds, swiftly climbing up from the ground.
"Jimmy, are you alright? Where are you injured? I’ll call the doctor right away!" She crouched beside him, grasping his arm, inspecting him thoroughly.
Ryan forced a smile at her, shaking his head, "I’m fine."
His words were sowhat weak, evidently pale yet still smiling to reassure her.
Sumr ignored his words, her gaze lingering on his soaked shirt for several seconds.
Ryan seed to have been hit on the back.
A massive chandelier base fell, weighing dozens of pounds, directly striking his lumbar spine.
His back was bleeding, his clean shirt stained red, seemingly the bone was also injured.
Sumr stared at him for a long while, feeling extrely uneasy inside.
"Actually, you didn’t need to do this." She wasn’t worth such a sacrifice.
"What I choose to do is my own business, it has nothing to do with you." Ryan resisted the pain as he stood up, one hand supporting his lower back, seemingly not intending to go to the hospital.
But he was already so injured, how could he not go to the hospital?
Fearing his condition would worsen, Sumr handed off her work to others, pulled him by the arm, and left the set, "Let’s go to the hospital and check it out first!"
Lorraine Hughes glanced at the shattered chandelier on the ground, then couldn’t resist watching Sumr’s departing figure.
Even Ryan Walyon protects her like this...
What did Sumr Sutton ever do to deserve this?
...
After accompanying Ryan Walyon to the hospital, Sumr spent several hours, taking scans and having the doctor perform detailed examinations.
Ryan’s bones were injured, his spine slightly deford.
Just listening to the doctor’s report made Sumr feel intense pain.
After accompanying Ryan through the check-ups at the hospital, Sumr wanted to remind him of the things to watch out for upon returning ho. Yet Ryan seed completely indifferent to these matters.
