"But then..." His tone dragged on a bit, looking Sumr Sutton up and down, his fingertips gently tracing his chin.
He seed to be contemplating sothing, thought for a good while, and unexpectedly said, "If you could beco one of us, that would be another matter entirely."
"If it’s for one’s own family, it doesn’t matter if I lose everything, let alone decades of hard work," the Old Master sighed again.
Bang!
Sumr Sutton’s head lightly exploded, she looked at him in disbelief, unable to believe what she had heard.
What does it an?
Is she to be traded for herself?
But, what for in the Ink Family?
To be a workhorse? Or, with Manuel Ink?
In her eyes, Manuel Ink was a solitary and aloof moon, the purest moonlight, cold and sacred, unmatched by anyone.
Even including herself.
Sumr Sutton was stunned for quite a while after the Old Master Ink spoke, then her gaze stiffly turned to Manuel beside her.
She was observing his reaction, but little did she know, Manuel Ink’s face showed no emotion from start to finish.
This version of him made it hard for Sumr Sutton to figure him out.
Sumr remained silent for a long ti after the Old Master’s words, lowering her head, she expressed her stance, "This matter is really important to . If the Inks can tell the treatnt plan, I don’t mind being a workhorse for the Ink Family in the coming years."
"A workhorse?" The Old Master lightly scoffed at her words, seemingly amused, "Our Ink Family usually rides cars, not horses."
Sumr Sutton, "..."
The Old Master gave her a sidelong glance and added, "All kinds of models, changing every month."
Though his words were teasing, his disdain for Sumr Sutton was genuine.
Sumr fell silent after his words.
Besides this, she really didn’t know how to negotiate with the Ink Family.
Just as she was at a loss on what to do, beside her, Manuel Ink’s calm voice sounded, "Your clothes are wet, go upstairs and change first!"
Sumr couldn’t think of a better solution at the mont, so she had to let it go for now.
Anyway, the Ink Family hasn’t driven her away, and since they haven’t, she’ll continue to stay here until this family agrees to help her!
What Sumr lacks in nothing else, she truly excels in determination and perseverance.
She’s not afraid to hold out against this family!
Following the maid upstairs, it seed while she and Manuel Ink had gone to find the Old Master, the maid had already prepared her clothes.
A pile of little dresses in various styles for young girls had been prepared.
With the maid’s assistance, Sumr casually changed into one, then slowly went downstairs.
When she reached down, Manuel Ink was not there, only the Old Master Ink was in the living room.
The Old Master appeared to be particularly restless; even though it was pouring rain outside and he had only returned for about ten minutes, he was itching to go out again.
Seeing Sumr Sutton, the Old Master turned his head to greet her, "I’m about to head out, care to join?"
Sumr Sutton was actually afraid of him, not because the old man had a bad temper or looked scary, but after the incident when they got back, she felt deep down that this old man was a dangerous figure.
Whenever she was with him, Sumr felt like if she wasn’t careful, her life might just be toyed away without her knowing.
