With herbs in hand, Sumr Sutton was especially happy.
She didn’t really understand what Manuel Ink ant when he told her to be careful when she went in earlier.
To Sumr Sutton, stealing the herbs didn’t seem that difficult after all.
Quietly creeping from the garden back to the living room, seeing Manuel Ink, Sumr was a bit excited.
"Manuel Ink, I got it! I got it!" She was overly joyful, yelling so loudly it echoed across several floors of the castle, and as she danced with excitent, she dropped a bunch of herbs she was holding.
What she was doing now was stealing from the Ink Family, yet she could still share her excitent with Manuel Ink so openly.
Manuel Ink’s eyelid twitched, thinking she was being a bit too flamboyant. He stood up, intending to cover her mouth, but just as he reached out, the figure of Old Master Ink slowly descended from the castle’s stairs.
His gaze swept towards Sumr Sutton, and seeing the scattered herbs from several ters away, Old Master’s expression darkened.
Sumr didn’t expect him to co down at this mont. Getting caught red-handed left her a bit embarrassed.
She bent down, quickly gathering the herbs off the floor, intending to hide them away, but it was clear the old man had already seen everything.
Slowly, he stepped towards her, his expression stern, the first ti Sumr had seen him look so serious since she arrived.
"Do you know how troubleso it is to cultivate these herbs?" He asked, standing beside her.
Although Sumr Sutton didn’t know, she could easily imagine.
"Grandpa Ink, I can pay you for the cultivation costs."
It seed the old man didn’t take her words to heart.
"The Ink Family doesn’t treasure these things!" He reminded her coldly.
"Every herb, from planting to being ready for use, takes at least a few years, not to ntion the professional care it requires. Now you say you can just take them away?" Narrowing his eyes, he gave Sumr Sutton a long look, his gaze landing on the herbs in her hands.
Afraid he would take them back, Sumr retreated several steps, cautiously hiding the herbs behind her back.
"These herbs, as long as Grandpa Ink you are willing to part with them, whatever terms you offer, I will agree." The herbs were sothing Sumr was determined to get, the terms of negotiation, no matter what the Ink Family asked for, wouldn’t matter to her.
The old master rubbed his forehead with his fingertips, as if contemplating her words.
He looked at her for a long ti, taking deep breaths again and again, seemingly infuriated by Sumr Sutton, but not knowing how to deal with her.
"Since the herbs have already been picked, I don’t want them anymore; they’re all yours. Just stay with the Ink Family for two years." After a long silence, he threw this sentence at her and strode upstairs.
His words seed to leave no room for negotiation, turning back and heading directly upstairs.
Sumr Sutton stood there in shock, her mind buzzing.
Two years?
With the Ink Family?
This ti she went abroad secretly, without saying a word to Adrian Walyon.
Let alone staying with the Ink Family for two years, even if she stayed here for three weeks, once Adrian found out she was gone, there would surely be chaos back ho.
After Old Master’s words, Sumr Sutton stood frozen for a long, long ti.
Manuel Ink stood beside her, watching her without a word.
Seeing the struggle on Sumr’s face, he thought she would outright refuse the old man’s request.
To his surprise, after half an hour of silence, her expression gradually cald down.
Turning her face to Manuel Ink, she said sothing that even surprised him, "I accept Grandpa’s request."
