Sumr Sutton took a taxi back to Sutton Gardens herself, fearing the matter at school couldn’t be hidden from Adrian, she prepared a dinner in advance to calm him down.
Sumr Sutton’s dinner was prepared richly; usually frugal, she clearly had enough for just two people yet prepared about a dozen dishes.
All catered to Adrian’s tastes.
The flavors were French, each dish took considerable effort from preparation to plating.
When Adrian returned, the villa was unlit, only a few candles were lit in the dining room.
The candlelight was dim, yet the atmosphere was just right.
Adrian slowly walked over, looked over the table of dishes, stunned for a mont.
So elaborate?
The sudden sense of ceremony almost made him think they’d reached their wedding anniversary.
However, he’d only just married Sumr Sutton not long ago.
Adrian stared at the food on the table for a long while, confused as to what Sumr Sutton was up to today.
"You’re back!" Sumr Sutton ca down from upstairs, greeted him, ca to his side, and helped him take off his jacket.
"What’s the occasion today?" Adrian asked, puzzled.
"Nothing really, just got ho early, had enough ti, so I just prepared casually." Sumr Sutton looked at him, calmly speaking.
"Really?" Adrian looked at her suspiciously, questioning her words.
"Otherwise?" Sumr Sutton feigned calmness as she sat down, poured him a glass of red wine.
Today is neither a wedding anniversary, nor their birthday, or any other holiday, Adrian couldn’t think of why she prepared this al.
Without paying much attention, he sat down.
Tonight, Sumr Sutton was unusually attentive, after seating, she leaned her body toward him, persistently helping him with dishes, "Try this one, although it’s my first ti making it, I think my cooking skills are pretty good."
"And this one too, try them all!"
"How does it taste? Give so feedback!"
Adrian felt that she was being overly attentive tonight.
He turned his face, quietly looked at her beside him, and slowly uttered, "Did you do sothing guilty at school?"
Sumr Sutton felt suddenly panicked, having been seen through by him, but her face showed no reaction at all.
