The rainy weather makes cleaning the courtyard quite unpleasant.
The leaves can’t bear the weight of the rain, and when they fall on you, it feels like being hit by marbles.
It’s unclear how much ti has passed, but suddenly, the sound of branches breaking echoes from the garden.
"Baxter, I told you I can handle this myself!" Sumr Sutton assud Zoe Baxter had co and wanted to send her back, but she froze upon seeing a figure in the distance.
Adrian Walyon stood two ters away, holding an umbrella, fixedly staring at her.
His gaze wandered slowly, up and down her body, surveying her from head to toe, his deep-set eyes emitting a chill.
Sumr Sutton had been out in the rain for quite a while, completely soaked by now, with her clothes sticking damply to her body and her hair tangled ssily across her cheeks, looking as disheveled as could be.
Seeing him appear suddenly made her pause, and the resentnt in her heart surged once more.
She walked a few steps towards him and swung her fist at him, "It’s all because of you, and you have the nerve to co here, to see how badly I’m being punished today?"
Afraid of the dorm supervisor seeing them, she pushed him, trying to move him outside, "Get out, get out! n can’t enter the girls’ dormitory!"
Adrian Walyon just stood there without moving.
He kept looking at her, the coldness in his gaze like sharp ice blades, making Sumr Sutton’s body feel cold.
Her hand was frozen on his chest, and she dared not press on any further.
Adrian Walyon’s expression was frightening, his eyes filled with chilliness, causing Sumr Sutton’s heart to panic.
She thought she had offended him with her audacity.
While struggling to co up with an excuse to escape punishnt, Adrian Walyon suddenly shoved the umbrella into her arms and lifted her up.
Sumr Sutton stiffly leaned in his embrace, stunned as she gazed at his increasingly handso face above in the rain mist, unable to regain her composure for a while.
"Are you stupid? Punished and didn’t even call ?" His voice remained cold, the words sharp, yet at this mont, they sounded nothing like the annoyance they used to in Sumr Sutton’s ears.
"Actually, it’s okay." She was still a student, and Sumr Sutton abided by school rules.
Adrian Walyon ignored her, holding her as he continued to walk out of the campus.
Sumr Sutton was drenched, her clothes were even dripping water.
As he held her in his arms, she wet a large area of his clean jacket.
The servants at Sutton Gardens said he had a cleanliness obsession.
Yet at this mont, he seed entirely unconcerned.
Sumr Sutton stiffly let him hold her, feeling sowhat confused inside.
The rain continued to fall, droplets pattering onto the umbrella’s surface above them, bringing a slight chill.
The autumn wind and rain poured in, causing Sumr Sutton to shiver, instinctively burrowing into Adrian Walyon’s embrace.
Walking along, Adrian Walyon’s body stiffened as he lowered his gaze, discreetly glancing at her.
Having been in the rain for so long, Sumr Sutton’s hands and feet were already numbed by the cold.
She didn’t care about anything else, her survival instinct drove her to hold tightly onto Adrian Walyon.
Like a small, frostbitten creature seeking the only warmth in a cold night, she clung tightly to him, trying to absorb so warmth from his body heat.
Adrian Walyon quietly watched her like this, his ink-black eyes showing faint ripples of emotion...
