The next day, she was late again!
By the ti she arrived at the company, it was already two-thirty in the afternoon.
This can’t even be considered as tardiness, it’s considered absenteeism!
Sumr Sutton was especially embarrassed and hadn’t stopped complaining about Adrian Walyon all the way there.
The departnt manager checked his wristwatch, his face tightened again and again.
"Miss Sutton, it’s already afternoon," he reminded her with a stern face.
"Manager, I was wrong. I’ll co in a few hours early every day tomorrow and the day after, and I won’t take any breaks. I’ll make up for the few mornings I’ve been absent, okay?" Sumr Sutton admitted, her attitude genuinely sincere.
"Miss Sutton!" The manager placed the docunts in his hand down with a clatter and adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose, reminding her, "Every company has its own rules. If everyone who was late made up for it like you suggest, what would we need the clock-in system for? What are the rules set for?"
What he said was valid.
Sumr Sutton hung her head and said nothing.
She was late first, and if she got scolded or punished today, she’d accept it.
The manager stared at her for a good while, his fingertips continuously massaging his temples.
He seed to be quite troubled by Sumr Sutton, especially since this wasn’t the first ti she was late.
She was still a newbie, not even considered a formal employee yet, and how many tis had she been late since she joined Royal Delight?
Sumr Sutton’s tardiness was truly unintentional; each ti it was due to Adrian Walyon’s excessive demands.
Before she encountered Adrian, she was known as a model student, never late from childhood to adulthood.
But ever since Adrian appeared in her life, Sumr Sutton has been late for classes, late for work, late for gatherings with friends, and when she was in the Walyon Family, she needed to get up early every day to greet the elders and was still late.
She seems to have not been on ti for quite a while.
Sumr Sutton even thought, if one day she was dismissed from Royal Delight, it definitely wouldn’t be because of her capability issues, the biggest reason would probably be Adrian.
The manager continued to look at her, casting glances at her repeatedly before saying with a stern face, "Just as well, the company is shooting a scene today, and they’re short-handed on-site, why don’t you go lend a hand!"
This was his punishnt for Sumr Sutton; she had been late too many tis and the manager didn’t know what else to do with her...
Sumr Sutton was indeed excessively late today, undeniably at fault.
She accepted the manager’s arrangent.
"Alright." Without saying much more, she simply asked the manager for the specific location of the set and hurried to the scene.
The snow had stopped today, but it was still very cold outside.
Sumr Sutton sneezed just as she walked out of the company building.
The manager only asked her to go to the set, but Sumr Sutton didn’t know who was filming there.
When she hailed a cab and arrived, she unexpectedly found that the female lead was Lorraine Hughes.
The filming site was outdoors, at a location scattered with variously sized lakes.
Because of the cold weather, all the lake surfaces had frozen over today.
When Sumr Sutton arrived, Lorraine Hughes was filming a scene with the male lead, running on the ice.
Sumr Sutton checked with the director what she needed to do when she got there. The director just threw her a line, "Wherever there are people in need, go there."
Sumr Sutton could only wander around the site, finding tasks for herself to do.
The weather today wasn’t just cold; the snow had stopped, yet it was even colder than yesterday.
During filming, Lorraine Hughes was so cold that she couldn’t stop shivering.
