At this mont, Sumr Sutton was really uncomfortable, with nausea in her stomach and waves of pain in her abdon.
For a pregnant woman, traveling on bumpy mountain roads was never pleasant. On the way up the mountain, she drove carefully to minimize her suffering.
Encountering falling rocks from the mountain, the car flew up and then back down—it was sothing beyond her control.
If she had driven a bit slower, it’s the people who would’ve been in danger!
Sumr Sutton didn’t ask any more questions. She held her stomach, closing her eyes once again.
"Hang in there a little longer, we’ll be at the foot of the mountain soon." Adrian Walyon, unaware of what she had just gone through, was worried about her condition and accelerated the car a bit.
He drove sowhat hastily, increasing the speed, with the sole focus of getting Sumr Sutton to the hospital as quickly as possible.
However, what Adrian Walyon didn’t expect was that when they reached the spot where Sumr Sutton had her incident, the road was blocked by rocks that had rolled down the mountain.
Adrian Walyon stared rigidly at the blocked road ahead for a while, then turned his gaze to the seemingly unconscious Sumr Sutton beside him.
Did the rocks fall after her car had already passed, or was it when she was just going by?
Seeing her excessively pale face, Adrian felt his heart tighten.
On the road winding up the mountain below them, several car lights shone through just then, as if soone was coming up the mountain in the middle of the night.
Judging by the lights, there were quite a few cars coming up.
Adrian Walyon’s car lingered in front of the blocked road for quite so ti.
Given the current situation, descending the mountain seed impossible. What should they do?
Adrian Walyon didn’t know what condition the baby in Sumr Sutton’s stomach was in, and he feared that if they didn’t get to the hospital in ti, she wouldn’t make it through the night.
But with the only road down the mountain blocked, Adrian had no other options.
Could they call soone to move the stones off the mountain in the middle of the night?
With rain pouring down, who knows how many hours it would take for help to arrive.
In such an ergency with no better option, Adrian slowly reversed the car and drove back toward the direction of the resort.
Surely, a resort of such size would at least have a basic dical team.
Just as their car left, the next group of cars intending to go up the mountain arrived at the blocked road.
With the road blocked, Adrian couldn’t get down the mountain, and these cars couldn’t go up either.
A person sitting at the front of one car stared in the direction of Adrian’s departing vehicle for a long ti, then took out a phone and made a call, "The road is blocked, we can’t get through..."
...
Sumr Sutton kept her eyes closed from start to finish, remaining in a heavy sleep.
Adrian Walyon tried to revive her consciousness while driving, "Sumr, hold on a little longer, we’re almost there!"
At this ti, Sumr Sutton’s stomach was in pain that left her mind blank and her eyes blurred.
Ignoring him, she dozed off with her eyes shut.
Adrian was anxious beyond belief, repeatedly accelerating the car.
The rain was still falling, raindrops pattering against the windows, enveloping the entire mountain in mist.
Adrian’s nerves were taut as he worried about Sumr Sutton’s condition while ensuring the car was driven without mishap.
The slightest error could affect the lives of a family of three!
By the ti the car arrived at the resort hotel, it was already past midnight.
Lorraine Hughes hadn’t gone to bed yet. After checking into a room, she went to the front desk with an umbrella to borrow a phone charger.
When Adrian Walyon’s car stopped outside the resort, she turned her face to look in its direction.
Seeing first Adrian Walyon stepping out of the car, she was taken slightly aback.
