The scene of the incident was crowded with many people, all of them providing support.
It was unknown if anyone was buried in the area that had collapsed, so the rescue team didn’t dare to use machinery; they dug with their hands.
The driver was also at the scene, digging inch by inch with the other rescuers.
Sumr Sutton scanned the crowd but didn’t see Adrian Walyon. Without thinking, she crouched down and started digging with the rescue workers.
The rescuers who were present were all n, rough and rugged, finding this hand-digging task quite strenuous.
Sumr, a delicate girl, looked fragile and found this work much more challenging than the n did.
Her skin was tender, and after a while, her fingertips started bleeding from the digging, but she seed oblivious, numbly continuing to dig.
The driver was particularly worried about her.
She was soone the entire Walyon Family took special care of!
What if sothing happened to her, how would they explain it?
"Young Madam, please stop digging and rest. Leave it to us!" The driver tried to stop her, but Sumr seed not to hear and stubbornly continued to dig.
She groped around in the dirt for a while as if she had discovered sothing.
Her body went rigid, and she tentatively reached further in, pulling out a mobile phone.
The driver dusted off the phone, his face turning pale with shock, "It’s the Young Master’s!"
Sumr fixed her gaze on the phone, feeling slightly dizzy.
Her senses seed numb, her mind buzzing.
Other rescue workers at the scene rushed over and joined her in digging.
"There might be soone here! Everyone, please help and be careful!"
Sumr stared blankly at the phone for a while, then buried her face in the dirt and continued digging.
Her vision was blurred, her senses numb, her brain empty. She couldn’t see, hear, or feel anything, only chanically digging through the dirt.
Without finding Adrian, she kept digging, piercing through the ground near the phone, her hands bleeding profusely, only to find emptiness beneath.
No one!
Sumr stared blankly at the scene, suddenly stunned.
The rescue workers were still digging in other areas, managing to save a few construction workers, but no one saw Adrian Walyon’s figure.
Sumr, unable to find him, refused to leave.
She seed drained of all energy, slumped to the ground, staring blankly at the dirt mound.
...
Outside the scene, a car suddenly stopped beyond the cordon.
Paul Walyon, with sharp eyes, spotted the people inside the car and hurried over, placing his arms gratefully on the person’s shoulders, "Adrian, you’re okay! That’s such a relief!"
Adrian Walyon had already been ho, found no one there, guessed everyone must be at the accident scene, and drove over.
"Where’s Sumr?" Adrian didn’t answer him, scanned the scene, and asked in a deep voice.
"Sumr’s inside! She’s been in there for quite a while now!" Paul pointed behind him.
Adrian pushed him aside and took large strides into the accident scene.
The scene was very dark, and with piles of construction materials, walking wasn’t easy.
Adrian, stepping forward heavily, reached the rescue site, pushed aside the people blocking him, and imdiately saw Sumr Sutton slumped on the ground.
