Throughout the night, the doctor was doing their utmost to save them.
Every one or two hours, they’d co out to report on the situation inside.
The baby’s condition wasn’t good, and Sumr Sutton’s was even worse — she was burning up to the point of losing consciousness.
In the middle of the night, the news from the doctor was that they were still desperately trying to save the pregnancy. By seven o’clock, when the sky was about to brighten, the doctor shook his head as soon as he stepped out.
Looking at the family, he hesitated to speak, "I’m sorry, we did our best, but we couldn’t save the child..."
Bang!
Old Master Walyon’s mind went blank, and a rush of blood shot straight to his head, causing his body to fall backward stiffly.
"Grandpa, Grandpa!" Ryan Walyon frantically caught him, hurriedly carrying him back to his room, "Doctor, co in quick! Hurry, hurry!"
The Walyon Family, busy through the night, started bustling again...
Sumr Sutton was still burning up, her mind turned to mush.
In a daze, she felt the intense pain in her stomach, yet she was already unconscious.
She dreamt a long dream, filled entirely with Adrian Walyon.
In her dream, she recalled their first eting, when he appeared before her, dazzling like the stars.
She dreamt of their marriage registration, her reluctance when signing the wedding agreent, the stiffness of her smile during the photos, and Sutton Gardens, the place they stayed during their honeymoon.
She dreamt of the garden full of peach blossoms he planted for her, the snowy beauty of Morning Garden like an ice kingdom, and the many good days after their wedding.
Sumr Sutton even dreamt that their baby was born — a beautiful daughter resembling him, small and warm, an adorable little bundle being held in his arms, warming his heart.
Outside the window, the rain was pouring heavily, the raindrops tapping against the window. In her dreams, Sumr Sutton suddenly woke up.
Upon waking, her stomach felt much emptier, as if sothing was missing from her body.
Sumr Sutton gently placed her hand on her belly, her eyes vacant as she stared into the curtain of rain outside the window, lost in thought once again...
...
She lay in bed for an entire day, not speaking a word.
After losing the child, the doctor used stronger dication, and though Sumr Sutton’s fever went down, her condition was worse than when she was sick.
Like a soulless being, she stared outside the window, lost in thought.
Ryan Walyon visited her several tis during als, speaking to her at length, yet Sumr Sutton seed deaf, unresponsive.
Not wanting to disturb her, Ryan Walyon quietly left the room.
Around half past nine in the evening, considering she hadn’t eaten properly for a long ti, he asked the maid to prepare so food and brought it to Sumr Sutton’s room.
Intending to coax her into eating, he opened the door only to find the room empty, with Sumr Sutton nowhere in sight!
Her warmth was gone from the bed; she seed to have left long ago.
With Old Master Walyon and Diana Wood both collapsed today, everyone else in the Walyon Family was frantically busy, and no one noticed Sumr Sutton’s departure.
Ryan Walyon stood dazed in her room for a while, gently closing his eyes.
Adrian Walyon was already gone, so perhaps she would never return to this ho again?
It’s just as well if she doesn’t co back!
Leaving like this is better; at least her future will be without so many potential dangers...
...
Sumr Sutton’s fever had not fully subsided, and she was still running a low temperature.
After leaving the Walyon family estate in the rain, she headed straight back to Morning Garden.
