The room was in complete disarray, petals were scattered everywhere, and the bed was a sight too tragic to behold.
The sheets were even worse, she couldn’t bear to look at them.
On the white sheets, there were many dried stains. Sumr Sutton just stared at them, her cheeks blushing again.
Adrian Walyon shot her a sidelong glance, his lips curling into a smug smile.
Sumr Sutton quickly pulled the sheets off, awkwardly clutching them as she tossed them into the washing machine.
Afterwards, she briefly tidied up the room and went downstairs.
She was starving at this point. Adrian Walyon had dismissed the servants; with only the two of them in the villa, Sumr Sutton had to fend for herself.
Before she could start cooking, a call from the Walyons interrupted her.
"Both of you co back!" Old Master Walyon barked, then hung up.
The couple had just gotten their marriage certificate yesterday, and Adrian Walyon had rushed to bring Sumr Sutton ho for their wedding night.
Now that she was part of the Walyons, by tradition, the new daughter-in-law should have stayed with the Walyon Family from yesterday!
Adrian looked at Sumr Sutton beside him, pondered for a mont, then helped her put on her coat before taking her out the door.
Sumr Sutton never quite liked the atmosphere at the Walyons, but today she was actually eager to be there.
At the Walyons, she only had to deal with Diana Wood’s unpleasant expressions, which was better than staying in the villa with Adrian Walyon always ready to do such things.
When they entered the house, the entire family was already gathered.
As soon as Sumr Sutton stepped in, at least a dozen pairs of eyes imdiately turned to her.
She felt exactly like a monkey in a zoo being ogled by everyone.
However, her expression remained natural as she lifted her head, her gaze eting theirs with composure.
Old Master Walyon saw her, his face devoid of much expression.
He squinted and just quietly observed her, his emotions unreadable.
Ever since Diana Wood knew Adrian Walyon had independently gotten the marriage certificate, she had been fuming but speechless.
Her face stiff, her expression wasn’t very pleasant.
The atmosphere in the hall was a bit chilly.
Old Master Walyon fixed his gaze on Sumr Sutton for a while before speaking, "Since the certificate is signed, you’re part of the family now. You two should find a ti to move back in."
His words essentially marked his acceptance of Sumr Sutton.
Though it was unclear whether this was voluntary or if Adrian Walyon had already married Sumr Sutton, leaving no choice but acceptance.
As the words echoed, Diana Wood couldn’t help but bitterly remind, "Being the Walyon Family’s daughter-in-law isn’t easy. The kind of ssy things you did in school shouldn’t happen now that you’re in the Walyon Family. We can’t afford any loss of face. If problems arise, don’t bla us for not fitting in!"
She spoke bluntly, setting the tone right when Sumr Sutton walked in.
Sumr Sutton found her words piercing.
What had she done that was so ssy?
Sumr Sutton, not one to let herself be slandered without reason, t Diana Wood’s gaze directly, retorting, "What did I do that’s so ssy? Please clarify so I can correct myself, ma’am!"
Sumr Sutton wouldn’t allow herself to be baselessly maligned, but Diana Wood saw her response as cheeky defiance, her face imdiately darkened.
Just barely a day in, was she already not giving Diana any respect?
"How dare you speak like that?" Diana Wood said, her face darkening as she slamd the teacup, "Sumr Sutton, let tell you, don’t think because Adrian protects you, you can disregard everyone else. No matter what, I am still Adrian’s mother! If I force Adrian to choose between you and one day, who do you think he’ll choose?"
