The whole night, lying on the sofa, she kept tossing and turning, not knowing how long it had been before she finally dozed off for a little while.
Early the next morning, sounds of clinking and clanging arose from the ground floor of the villa.
The volu wasn’t loud enough to reach upstairs.
The man woke up at seven.
When he went downstairs, the dining table was set with steaming breakfast, thickly cooked multigrain porridge, side dishes of pan-fried dried fish, vegetable hearts, and several others made from vegetables.
These were the most homade dishes, ones that were often seen on the table in Morning Garden, a few that Sumr Sutton was adept at making.
The man stood at the entrance of the dining room, quietly staring at the steaming porridge on the dining table for quite a while, inadvertently lost in thought.
Sumr Sutton erged from the kitchen carrying two glasses of milk and set them on the table. She looked up, giving him a sweet smile, "Good morning!"
The corners of her lips curved slightly, a signature Sumr-style smile.
It was only the night before that she ca to this villa for the first ti, but upon arriving, she never treated herself as an outsider, naturally falling asleep, waking up only to busily attend to kitchen work, as if she were the mistress of the place.
The man took a deep breath, his gaze coolly turning to her, reminding her coldly, "Miss Sutton, isn’t it ti for you to leave?"
"Aren’t you going to the office later? Whether I leave now or later, I’ll leave anyway, and later I can even drop you off," Sumr Sutton disregarded his words, took a seat, and began eating breakfast with her chopsticks.
"Try this, you used to love it."
"And the porridge, living alone, you probably didn’t have much chance to drink sothing this steaming hot, have more."
"This is also sothing you like, I made everything according to your taste."
Sumr Sutton spoke to herself, the man took a deep breath, unexpectedly interrupting her, "Miss Sutton!"
He seed to want to say sothing, but before he could, Sumr Sutton spoke in his place, "Are you going to say again that you told you’re not the person I’m looking for?"
Man, "..."
"My mory is good, no need to remind so many tis," Sumr Sutton said casually as she gently shook the milk, her tone indifferent, "But as for you, you got hurt last ti, who knows if you damaged your brain, I think Mr. Bennet should go for a check-up."
She seed to have forgotten who was the real owner here, inside soone else’s territory, yet she made sharp and ambiguous remarks.
At the dining table, the atmosphere instantly cooled down.
The man’s face darkened sowhat.
Sumr Sutton rely glanced at him indifferently, noticing his changed expression, but she didn’t care, continuing with her al as if nothing had happened.
In a few bites, she finished her breakfast and sat quietly waiting for him.
The man seed helpless against her, staring at her with a cold face for a long while, ultimately saying nothing.
With his head down, he silently started eating his own al.
This made Sumr Sutton’s lips unconsciously curl up.
He was still the sa as before, no matter how much she provoked him, ultimately he would just coolly glance at her.
He was always indulgent towards her.
If it were any other man being openly and subtly mocked by Sumr Sutton like this, he would have surely kicked her out long ago, right?
Sumr Sutton carefully considered, from the ti she entered here last night until now, how many of her actions had the man in front of her permitted?
Sumr Sutton couldn’t even count for herself.
