Lily Winslow stood not far away, silently watching the direction in which Watt Bennet and Sumr Sutton left.
Watt Bennet pulled Sumr Sutton toward the quiet corner of the garden. Arriving under a tree, his body suddenly stood up, pinning her back onto the trunk.
His leg was still injured; it hadn’t healed for many days, and when he stood up, he seed very strained, even breaking into a cold sweat on his forehead.
However, his body pinned Sumr Sutton down hard, with a force completely unlike that of an injured person.
"Don’t provoke !" he warned, his voice cold.
"What have I done?" Sumr Sutton was not at all afraid of him. Instead, she sneered after his words, "Mr. Bennet went as far as moving houses just to avoid seeing . Whatever I do, what has it to do with Mr. Bennet?"
"Sumr!" Watt Bennet growled her na softly.
Sumr Sutton raised her face, eting his gaze with pure fury in her eyes.
"Did I say anything wrong? Isn’t it true? You’re the one who keeps trying to push away. Don’t forget, it’s you, Mr. Bennet! Watt Bennet, I tell you, since you don’t care a bit for , I don’t want you anymore!" She pronounced each word with decisive bluntness.
Watt Bennet seed dumbfounded for a mont as if her words had left him stunned.
Sumr Sutton ignored him, pushed him away, and sulked, heading off in another direction in the garden.
Lily Winslow stood a short distance from them, listening to their conversation from start to finish, digging her fingertips into her palm repeatedly.
She had never understood why Watt Bennet purposely treated Sumr Sutton coldly, but she clearly saw how much Watt cared for Sumr.
Even to the point of distancing himself from his own family because of this woman!
Lily Winslow’s heart felt extrely unwilling, quietly staring at the direction where Sumr Sutton disappeared for a long ti, then slowly followed after her.
Sumr Sutton sulked and walked quickly.
The sunlight today was sowhat intense, and Sumr Sutton wandered around the garden for a while, stumbling upon a deserted room, only hoping for so coolness, and walked inside.
It was unclear who had lived in this room before, but it was spacious. Although unused, it wasn’t dilapidated.
After entering, Sumr Sutton looked around the room, taking it all in.
She stared at everything set up in the room, gazing intently.
Outside, after she entered, there was a faint sound, like the door being locked.
Sumr Sutton was too focused on studying the items inside the room to notice.
After touring the whole room, she tried to leave but tugged on the door several tis, realizing it wouldn’t open.
She stared at the tightly closed door, her heart sinking in an instant.
If she rembered correctly, the path she just took was quite remote, without a single servant in sight in the garden.
This room’s location, the Winslow Family probably doesn’t have people coming by usually, right?
Sumr Sutton even doubted if anyone passed by within fifty ters of this house.
If she was trapped here and never found, what would she do?
No food, no water, unable to contact others, would she just wait to die?
...
Not long after Sumr Sutton left, Watt Bennet, feeling uneasy about her, started searching for her in the garden.
Hardly two minutes into his search, Lily Winslow suddenly erged from a direction.
Lifting her face to look at him, Lily Winslow pointed towards the Winslow Family’s main gate and, calmly said, "Brother Watt, are you looking for her? She just left the Winslow Family."
