Chapter 1370: To Kill or to Save?
When Ye Tianxin received the award from the guest of honor, she had many thoughts running through her head.
It was a groundbreaking moment for her and her country. The trophy that she was holding on to signaled the beginning of an era. A movie from the Empire was also capable of winning a major award on the international scene.
The presenter passed the microphone to Ye Tianxin. “Ms. Ye Tianxin, can you please say a few words?”
“Ladies and gentlemen, good evening to you. I am Cherry from the movie, ‘Red Cherry’. I am an actress from the Empire, Ye Tianxin. I am honored to receive this award. I did not expect to win this award when I left my country. I feel like the big prize fell from the sky and dropped on my head. It has made me giddy and light-headed. I hope that this is the beginning where we can bring movies from the Empire out of the country to the international stage. We will continue to make better movies. At the same time, I want to thank the organizing mittee for their affirmation. Thank you.”
Ye Tianxin’s thank you speech was a spontaneous one. She had not prepared any speech in advance as she did not think she would win anything.
Ye Tianxin walked down the stage amidst the applause.
She handed the trophy to Yan Jun.
Yan Jun held the trophy and snorted. “It’s not made of gold.”
“Well, aren’t you greedy?”
Suddenly, the guest of honor on stage fell to the floor. Everyone was in shock.
Ye Tianxin was a medical student.
Under such circumstances, she could not just stand around and do nothing.
She lifted her long gown and walked back to the stage. She knelt in front of the guest of honor.
“Ms. Ye, can you please move aside? We need to bring the guest of honor down from the stage.”
Ye Tianxin looked at the man. “No, you cannot move him now.”
Ye Tianxin started to touch every part of the man’s body with her bare hands. When she placed her hand on his abdomen, she asked him, “Do you feel disfort here?”
The guest of honor was already in great pain and did not know what Ye Tianxin was talking about.
Ye Tianxin knew that the man was in grave danger.
The consequences would be dire if they delay any further.
“Who are you? Move aside. Don’t touch him.”
Ye Tianxin looked at the man who spoke. “If we wait any longer, he will die. Do you want to take this risk?”
“Are you a doctor? Are you a qualified medical professional? Do you know who is he?”
“Yes, move aside!”
Everyone was berating Ye Tianxin and trying to stop her from taking any action. They were afraid she might do anything wrong and put the man’s life in danger.
“Yan Jun, ask them to keep quiet.”
Ye Tianxin turned to look at Yan Jun who was standing behind her.
She took out a pen from one of the guests’ pockets. Holding it firmly with her hand, she stabbed the pen into the man’s abdomen.
“Ah…”
Blood flowed out from that spot. Everyone looked on, aghast.
“Do you feel better?”
The guest of honor nodded.
He wasn’t in that much pain.
“You’re in a very serious condition. You need to be operated on immediately. Don’t worry, I will go to the hospital with you. Trust me, I won’t hurt you.”
Ye Tianxin calmly instructed the staff to bring a stretcher over to carry the man off the stage.
She followed after them, with her long gown trailing on the floor.
Nobody expected such an ending to the awards ceremony which was being telecast live.
