The last ti was playing the zither; this ti, Gu Zhiqi was preparing to play the flute.
Coincidentally, she had quite a few instrunts collected in her Portable Space, including a flute.
Gu Zhiqi still didn’t plan to show her face, but she intended to show her back.
Before recording the video, Gu Zhiqi specifically dug out an ancient costu to change into, but as for her hair, she was too lazy to style it, so it hung casually at the back of her head.
After changing clothes, she took her phone and left the room.
Just as she stepped out, she ran into Su Yunling coming out of the study.
Seeing her dressed like this, Su Yunling paused for a mont, raised an eyebrow, "Are you starting to prepare for the lantern festival?"
Gu Zhiqi shook her head, "I’m planning to record a video."
Su Yunling’s eyes showed a tinge of inquiry, "A video?"
Gu Zhiqi nodded and then asked Su Yunling, "Can I use your backyard for a bit?"
Su Yunling’s backyard was quite beautifully arranged, and she planned to record the video there.
Su Yunling nodded, then stepped forward to follow Gu Zhiqi, "I’ll help you record the video."
Gu Zhiqi’s eyes curved slightly, "Then I’ll rely on you, brother."
Su Yunling’s eyes curved in return with a smile but said nothing.
After arriving at the backyard, Gu Zhiqi walked to the flower stand and reminded Su Yunling, "Rember not to videotape my face."
Seeing Su Yunling nod, Gu Zhiqi stood with her back to him and took out the flute.
Su Yunling raised an eyebrow slightly, surprised that this child knew how to play the flute.
"You can start now."
As Gu Zhiqi’s voice faded, Su Yunling pressed the record button.
Soon, the sound of the flute echoed in the garden.
The haunting flute sound drifted like wisps of smoke, soft like lingering emotions, seemingly fragile enough to be scattered by a gust of wind, yet impossible to stop from penetrating one’s ears.
Listening to the flute lody escaping from Gu Zhiqi’s lips, Su Yunling suddenly recalled an ancient text, "A guest plays the cave flute, leaning on the song to harmonize. Its sound wails, as if lanting or yearning, as if weeping or telling, with lingering sound, continuous like a thread."
Unconsciously, Su Yunling found himself enchanted, as if transported to another space.
Until the tune ended, Su Yunling was still struggling to extricate himself from that space.
Initially, the music felt sorrowful, but strangely, the more he listened, the more it fascinated and cald him.
After listening completely, it felt like a breeze had swept through his mind, leaving an unprecedented sense of calm and ease.
It seed so of the negative emotions buried deep also vanished.
"Hmm? Why hasn’t it ended yet?"
Suddenly, Gu Zhiqi’s voice rang in his ears.
Su Yunling returned to his senses to find Gu Zhiqi standing next to him, reaching out to press the pause button.
Due to the motion, they were very close.
For a mont, Su Yunling could even feel the warmth emanating from Gu Zhiqi.
Just a second ago, his emotions had been soothed by the flute’s lody; the next mont, with Gu Zhiqi’s proximity, his mood could no longer remain calm.
Realizing he had forgotten to press pause, Su Yunling cleared his throat and spoke, "Uh, sorry, I got carried away listening."
Gu Zhiqi casually waved her hand, "No problem, we’ll just edit it out later."
Listening to her, Su Yunling paused before asking, "What’s this video for?"
Gu Zhiqi: "To gain followers."
As she spoke, she buried her head, fiddling with the video she just recorded.
Using the phone’s video editing function, Gu Zhiqi clipped off the part showing her face.
Afterwards, she opened the Cloud Shadow App.
