The next afternoon, after school, Lin Xiang’s first thing upon returning ho was to go to her room and look at the papers on the desk.
Sure enough, just like yesterday, there were faint marks in the blank spaces.
Lin Xiang traced the more noticeable marks, compared them, and once again found a high accuracy rate.
"Girl, it’s ti to eat!"
Lin Xiang went to the kitchen to fetch the food and discovered that Mrs. Lin had cooked potato noodles today.
"Your Fifth Uncle went to the market in town today and specifically sent over so potato noodles and soup base. Yesterday, Aunt Ge ntioned that the kids at ho enjoy this, so I thought I’d make it for you."
Lin Xiang brought several bowls of noodles out to the table in the courtyard, while Aunt Ge brought two bowls into the bedroom.

During the break, Lin Xiang went to the third-year office to find Yu Xiui, and as soon as she entered, she was surrounded by several teachers.
"Lin Xiang, take a look, do you have a different approach to solving this problem?"
Teacher Zhang handed Lin Xiang a test paper that the head of teaching had brought back from the county. In mathematics, the head had brought back six sets of papers, and Teacher Zhang was currently looking at the sixth set.
Several mathematics teachers were stumped by the last big problem in the paper.
Lin Xiang examined the test paper and silently picked up so paper and a pen to start calculating.
She wrote down her approach to each question so that when Yu Xiui returned to the office, she could see the other teachers gathered together, still whispering and arguing.
Such scenes in the office were commonplace, and Yu Xiui paid little attention, instead pouring a cup of water for Lin Xiang and gesturing for her to sit.
"I brought you here today to talk about two things."
"Teacher Yu, what is it?"
Yu Xiui took out the entrance exam paper from the first week of school. The top one was a math paper, and surprisingly, it was a perfect score.
"Have you considered that with your current grades, studying in the second year might be a waste of ti? If you’re willing, we can let you directly enter the third year, and you could take the college entrance exam in July this year. It would save you a year."
Lin Xiang couldn’t help but fall silent for a mont.
She had just been thinking about this matter when Yu Xiui brought it up.
Initially starting from the second year was because Lin Xiang wasn’t sure how challenging the exam in the seventies would be, whether she could handle it, and she thought an extra year would help solidify her foundation.

Thus, Lin Xiang agreed to Yu Xiui’s suggestion.
Yu Xiui secretly breathed a sigh of relief, "I’m just glad you agreed. I was really worried you’d be too stubborn to accept."
Having said that, Yu Xiui took a thick stack of test papers from her desk, covering all subjects.
"Have you decided whether to choose arts or sciences for the exam?"
"Sciences." Lin Xiang replied without hesitation.
Although the arts were seemingly easier, the range of majors she could choose from was too narrow.
Yu Xiui separated the history and geography papers, leaving the rest for Lin Xiang.
"You have one week to complete all these papers, after which the third-year teachers will collectively review them. If your total score reaches 350, you’ll be allowed to advance to the third year."
"Alright." Lin Xiang agreed readily.
There were quite a lot of papers, but since current exams were mostly self-printed by the school, the layout didn’t save space. Overall, though, there weren’t many, and excluding politics, she could complete all other subjects within a day.
"Now I’ll talk to you about the second matter."
Yu Xiui’s tone suddenly turned serious, and Lin Xiang couldn’t help but feel tense.
Yu Xiui first looked at her colleagues in the office, seeing that everyone was still seriously discussing the last major problem in the test paper, and nobody noticed them, she then whispered, "I heard you rented a house in the city, the one at the Ge’s place specifically. Did you see Ge Yuanyi?"
Lin Xiang didn’t expect Yu Xiui to ask about Ge Yuanyi. She was montarily stunned, then shook her head, "Although I’m temporarily staying at the Ge family’s house, Aunt Ge said that Ge Yuanyi encountered so unpleasant things before, and she locks herself in her room every day. It’s been almost ten days since I moved in, and I’ve never t her face to face."
Although Ge Yuanyi had secretly gone to her room to fill out the test papers, they hadn’t interacted directly.
Yu Xiui sighed heavily, "What a pity. Ge Yuanyi had great grades and was likely to get into a good university, but because of that incident, she... never mind, let’s not talk about that. I’m ntioning Ge Yuanyi to suggest that if possible, you should avoid staying at the Ge family’s house."
"Why?" Lin Xiang asked instinctively.
Aunt Ge had been very kind to them.
Even though the neighbors on both sides often made sarcastic remarks, it hadn’t disrupted their normal life.
Besides, the Ge family residence was close to school, just about a ten-minute walk.
Lin Xiang was quite satisfied with everything.
Yu Xiui lowered her voice, "Just trust on this, Lin Xiang. I wouldn’t harm you. If you truly have nowhere else to stay and don’t want to live on campus, I can help you find a place that’s no worse than the Ge’s."
Considering Lin Xiang was Tiantian’s savior, Yu Xiui wouldn’t cause harm to her.
She said this because there was another undisclosed reason.
"Teacher Yu, I understand. I’ll head back to class now."
Yu Xiui saw that Lin Xiang wasn’t taking it to heart and couldn’t help but remind her again before letting her leave with the stack of test papers.
When Lin Xiang returned to the classroom, the class had already started.
She filed a report, and Mr. Wen let her in without saying a word.
On the contrary, Chen Xiangqin, seeing Lin Xiang bringing in a stack of papers, looked at her twice.
The bell finally rang for the end of class, and Chen Xiangqin imdiately approached Lin Xiang, "Lin Xiang, what did you just bring in? It looked like test papers?"
"What else could it be? It must be test papers; the teacher gave her special treatnt!" Kong Jingjing comnted sarcastically from behind.
The scores for the entrance exams were announced for only two subjects so far, yet Lin Xiang’s results were higher than Chen Xiangqin’s and Kong Jingjing’s.
The top two positions in the class were at risk, and Kong Jingjing felt no goodwill towards Lin Xiang, as though Lin Xiang had taken what was supposed to be her number one spot.
