Now reading: Chapter 24 — The Line That Should Not Be Crossed from Shadow Ascension system, a Action novel by Nazareth.

The arena was silent in a way that felt unnatural.

Even the wind above the shattered platforms had stopped behaving like wind.

It waited.

Reyn stood at one end, calm now in a way that was more dangerous than his earlier aggression.

Kael stood at the other, barely steady on his feet, shadow energy gathering around him like a quiet pulse.

Both had reached the sa understanding.

This wasn’t about winning anymore.

It was about who could still stand after everything broke.

Reyn exhaled slowly.

“…Last exchange.”

Kael nodded once.

“…Agreed.”

The instructor’s hand froze in the air.

She should have stopped it.

She didn’t.

Because everyone watching understood—

This was beyond standard academy evaluation now.

This was revelation.

Reyn raised his hand slowly.

The air around him stopped moving.

Not compressed.

Not layered.

Just… stilled.

Like the world had paused to listen.

Lyra’s eyes widened.

“…That’s not wind manipulation anymore…”

The instructor whispered.

“…He’s controlling pressure equilibrium.”

Kael felt it imdiately.

The difference.

No movent ant no prediction based on motion.

No rhythm.

No pattern.

Just intent.

System flickered sharply.

====================

WARNING!!!

Enemy State: Absolute Still Domain

Prediction Model: Disrupted

====================

Kael exhaled slowly.

“…So you removed rhythm.”

Reyn nodded slightly.

“Yes.”

“So now you can’t read it.”

Kael looked at him for a long mont.

Then—

“…That’s fine.”

Reyn’s eyes narrowed.

Kael continued.

“…I don’t need rhythm.”

He stepped forward.

Into the stillness.

BOOM!

The entire arena reacted instantly.

Pressure collapsed toward him.

But Kael didn’t dodge.

He didn’t resist.

He aligned.

Shadow spread—not outward—but inward.

Like it was syncing with the still domain itself.

Lyra whispered sharply.

“…What is he doing?”

The instructor’s expression changed.

“…He’s matching the equilibrium…”

Reyn’s eyes sharpened.

“…You’re insane.”

Reyn moved first.

Not fast.

Not slow.

Just inevitable.

BOOM.

A single strike.

No wind blade.

No compression.

Just pure pressure collapse.

Kael reacted instantly.

Shadow ford.

But not a barrier.

A split.

CLASH!!!

The attack hit—and instead of exploding outward, it fractured across Kael’s shadow path.

The arena twisted.

Stone cracked inward.

BOOM—CRACK—BOOM!

Gasps erupted across the watching students.

“He redirected it?!”

“No—he divided it!”

Lyra’s eyes widened.

“…He’s not defending anymore…”

“He’s rewriting impact flow…”

Kael slid back slightly, blood spilling again.

But he was still standing.

Reyn stared at him for a mont.

Then—

He smiled faintly.

“…Good.”

BOOM.

The still domain collapsed.

Wind returned.

But it was no longer stable.

Now it was violent again.

Reyn raised both hands.

“…Lethal Convergence: Final Form.”

The arena scread.

Not sound.

Pressure distortion.

Everything bent inward again—but this ti with intent refinent beyond earlier limits.

Kael’s eyes narrowed sharply.

System erupted.

====================

WARNING!!!

Final Form Detected

Environntal Collapse Threshold Reached

Host Survival Probability: 18%

====================

Kael exhaled slowly.

“…Eighteen.”

A pause.

Then—

“…Enough.”

Shadow deepened violently around him.

Lyra stepped forward instinctively.

“…Kael, stop—!”

But it was too late.

Kael moved.

Not away.

Not forward.

Upward.

Shadow Step.

He appeared above the convergence field.

Inside the collapsing pressure layers.

Gasps erupted instantly.

“What is he doing?!”

“He entered it directly?!”

The instructor’s eyes widened.

“…He’s entering the collapse zone…”

Reyn looked up.

For the first ti—

Surprised.

“…You’re insane.”

Kael replied quietly.

“…No.”

“I’m precise.”

Kael raised his hand.

For the first ti—

The shadow didn’t form as blade or barrier.

It ford as absence.

A missing piece in the convergence.

System flickered violently.

====================

New Concept Detected

Shadow Break Evolution Initiating

====================

Kael spoke softly.

“…Break.”

BOOM!!!

The convergence field stuttered.

Just for a mont.

But in a collapsing system—

A mont was everything.

Reyn’s eyes widened sharply.

“…Tch—!”

Kael dropped through the gap.

Shadow Step—

Direct impact.

BOOM!!!

The strike landed on the convergence core.

A crack ford.

Then another.

Then—

CRACK!!!

The entire field destabilized.

Wind exploded outward violently.

BOOM—BOOM—BOOM!!!

The arena shook like it was being torn apart.

Students scread and shielded themselves.

Lyra covered her face.

“…It’s collapsing!”

The instructor shouted.

“Barrier—NOW!”

Energy shields activated around the arena.

Inside the chaos—

Reyn stood still.

Breathing heavily.

He looked at Kael.

Then smiled faintly.

“…You found it.”

Kael stood opposite him.

Barely stable.

Barely conscious.

But still upright.

“…Your core weakness,” Kael said quietly.

Reyn nodded.

“…And you broke it.”

Silence fell again.

Not peaceful.

Final.

Reyn lowered his hand slowly.

Wind faded.

Kael’s shadow receded slightly.

The arena stopped collapsing.

Not because it was fixed…

But because the fight was over.

The instructor finally spoke.

“…End of evaluation.”

A pause.

Then quietly—

“…Both of you are monsters.”

And for the first ti in the Central Academy’s history…

No one argued
