Kael stood at the edge of the empire’s outer road.

Behind him, the Darkwood Forest disappeared into mist and silence.

Ahead of him…

The Aether Empire.

Tall walls stretched endlessly across the horizon, engraved with glowing mana sigils that pulsed like a living heartbeat.

Guards stood at every gate.

Nobles passed through in carriages lined with gold.

rchants shouted.

Citizens bowed.

A world built on power.

Kael stepped forward.

No longer the broken child who had been dragged into a forest to die.

But sothing… different.

A guard at the gate raised his hand.

“Halt. State your identity.”

Kael stopped.

For a mont, silence passed.

Then he answered calmly.

“…Kael Draven.”

The na hung in the air.

At first, nothing happened.

Then—

Laughter.

Two guards laughed openly.

“Draven? That trash died years ago.”

“Get lost, kid. If you’re trying to impersonate nobility, pick a better na.”

Kael didn’t react.

But the shadows beneath his feet shifted slightly.

A subtle movent.

Almost unnoticed.

The second guard stepped forward aggressively.

“You’re lucky we don’t arrest you for disrespect—”

He never finished.

Kael vanished.

WHOOSH.

A shadow flicker.

The guard’s voice cut off mid-sentence.

Silence.

The other guard froze.

“…Huh?”

Kael reappeared behind the first guard.

His hand lightly resting near the man’s neck.

Snap.

A soft sound.

The guard collapsed instantly.

Dead.

No warning.

No struggle.

Just silence.

The remaining guard’s face turned pale.

“You—YOU—”

Kael tilted his head slightly.

“…I’m not here to argue.”

The guard stumbled backward in fear.

Kael stepped forward slowly.

No rush.

No anger.

Just certainty.

The empire that abandoned him…

Would now recognize him.

He walked past the gate.

And no one dared stop him again.

Inside the city, rumors spread instantly.

“The Draven na was spoken at the gate.”

“A dead heir has returned.”

“Impossible… that trash had no mana.”

But Kael ignored all of it.

His focus was elsewhere.

The system screen flickered in front of him.

Kael exhaled slowly.

“So they noticed.”

Good.

A faint pressure suddenly spread through the city air.

Kael paused.

Predator’s Instinct flared violently.

Danger.

Not weak guards.

Not scouts.

Sothing stronger.

Much stronger.

From above the streets—

A voice echoed.

Cold.

Familiar.

“…So you’re alive.”

Kael slowly looked up.

Standing on a rooftop across the street…

Was a man in black armor.

Mana radiated from his body like a storm.

One of the Draven enforcers.

Ranked beyond normal guards.

A hunting dog of the family.

The man’s eyes narrowed.

“You should have stayed dead.”

Kael’s expression remained calm.

“…And miss this reunion?”

The air went silent.

Then—

The enforcer moved.

Instantly.

BOOM!

The ground cracked as he launched forward.

Too fast for ordinary humans.

But Kael didn’t move.

Not yet.

He waited.

One second.

Two.

At the last possible mont—

Shadow Step.

WHOOSH!

Kael vanished.

The attack slamd into empty space, destroying the ground.

The enforcer turned sharply.

“What—?!”

Kael reappeared behind him.

This ti…

Sothing had changed.

The shadows around Kael were deeper.

Heavier.

More responsive.

The system flashed.

Dark energy condensed instantly.

The enforcer turned just in ti—

A streak of shadow cut across his shoulder.

He staggered back in shock.

“You actually—”

Kael didn’t let him finish.

Again.

Shadow Blink.

WHOOSH!

Another strike.

Then another.

Fast.

Precise.

Relentless.

The enforcer roared and unleashed a wave of mana.

BOOM!

Buildings cracked.

People scread and fled.

Kael was thrown back but landed silently.

He exhaled.

“…Still not enough.”

The enforcer charged again, furious now.

But Kael closed his eyes for a split second.

And listened.

Not to sound.

But to shadows.

Everything slowed.

The man’s movent beca predictable.

Kael stepped forward.

Just one step.

Then—

Shadow Command activated.

The shadows beneath the enforcer’s feet rose.

Like chains.

They grabbed him mid-charge.

The enforcer froze.

“What is this—?!”

Kael walked closer calmly.

For the first ti…

There was no panic in his eyes.

Only control.

“…This is mine now.”

The shadows tightened.

Crack.

The enforcer collapsed unconscious.

Silence returned.

Kael stood in the middle of the ruined street.

Breathing slowly.

A notification appeared.

The hunt had officially begun.
