Phryne sneered at the carnage around her, rolling her shoulders like a beast preparing to pounce."Well now… soone's brought a zoo." Her eyes raked over the wolves, the dragons, the Silverback, and Igris's flaming silhouette. "That's fine. I like breaking pets before breaking their masters."

She pointed her axe toward Damien."And after them, I'm ripping you open."

Her hand snapped upward.

"Everyone! Kill them all!"

Ishtar Familia mbers charged forward, blades drawn, voices quaking between rage and fear.

Damien tilted his masked face to the ceiling, a quiet breath escaping him."I didn't expect it to go this far…" His shadows coiled at his feet, trembling like beasts impatient to be unleashed. "But… why not."

His hand opened.

His magic burst outward in an eruption of black fla.

"Arise."

The word slithered through the inn like a command from the underworld itself.

Bodies twitched.Armor clattered.Blood-slick limbs lifted from the floor.

The dead guards. The fat rchant's hired swords. The fallen Ishtar adventurers. And finally Tammuz's corpse, muscles still warm, lifted upright as black mist devoured his form.

[Elite Soldier Acquired. Na Required.]

Damien's eyes narrowed."…Welco to the team, Adonis."

Tammuz's shadow form knelt once, then rose with a slow, regal poise fitting the new na.

Around them the Ishtar mbers scread.

"THEY'RE MOVING—THE DEAD ARE MOVING!"

"Kord's corpse—he's—he's attacking !"

"Is that… Tammuz? Tammuz, stop—STOP!"

"What kind of magic summons THIS MANY?!"

The inn beca a battlefield drowned in terror.

Shadow Soldiers lunged at their forr comrades.

The infant dragons spat gouts of fire, setting banners and curtains ablaze.

The Silverback slamd a man against the wall hard enough to crack plaster.

Adonis struck down a panicked level-two with surgical precision.

And Igris carved through two spears at once, flas dancing off his armor.

Phryne alone didn't flinch.

Instead, she grinned wide enough to show all her teeth.

"Witchcraft, huh? This is new." She stomped once, splintering the floorboards under her heel. "Doesn't matter. I don't care if you're a summoner or a freak with forbidden spells."

She hurled herself forward, axe raised.

"I'm taking your pretty little body apart!"

The impact shook the entire inn.

Phryne t Igris's blade first, the crash reverberating like thunder. Sparks shot outward. Damien lunged in, daggers slashing at Phryne's face, but she twisted aside with terrifying speed. The blade grazed her cheek; she spat blood and laughed.

"Mm… feisty. I'll enjoy breaking that spine."

Adonis swung from the left. Phryne t the strike with her elbow, the sheer force sending the Elite Shadow staggering back.

She was fast. And strong. And vicious.

One on one, she'd have crushed him.

Even now, with all three surrounding her, she fought like a storm of muscle and malice.

She kicked Igris across the room.

She drove her shoulder into Adonis, slamming him into the wall hard enough to crack brick. She caught Damien's wrist mid-slash, twisted, and nearly shattered his arm before he slipped away.

"Hah! You run like the rest of the pretty ones." Phryne licked her lips. "I've had plenty of boys scream underneath . So fainted before I even ward up. But you…"

Her grin sharpened.

"I'll savor you."

Damien's dagger plunged toward her throat, but she parried it with the flat of her axe, spinning into a brutal kick that sent him sliding across the floor.

He felt the pressure. She was overwhelming.Even together, they weren't enough.

Adonis and Igris rushed her again, buying Damien precious seconds, but Phryne's level difference was rciless. She carved through them like a butcher handling livestock, battering them back step by step.

Damien exhaled.This wasn't enough.

He prepared to push deeper, even if it risked revealing too much—

A voice rang from above.

"Uchide no… Kozuchi!"

Light descended like a warm storm.

A brilliant gold radiance washed over Damien.

Over his shadows.

Over the entire room.

The magic enveloped him, sinking into bone and blood and mana.

Haruhi stood on the balcony, trembling but resolute, hands clasped in prayer.

Her voice shook."Good sir… please… do not fall here…"

A roar of power erupted through Damien's veins.

His stats surged. His shadow soldiers trembled as the sa power intertwined with their forms. The level boost wasn't just his.

It was theirs.

Phryne froze.

"…What… what is this?" She stumbled back a half-step, confused, then furious. "Why are you glowing?! STOP THAT!"

Damien didn't answer.

He blurred forward.

Phryne's eyes widened."What—?!"

He appeared right in front of her.

Igris followed.

Adonis appeared at her flank.

Phryne swung wildly, but her strength no longer eclipsed them. Her dominance shattered instantly under the weight of Damien's boosted force.

Adonis grabbed her left arm and pulled.Bone tore. Flesh ripped. Phryne shrieked.

"STOP—NO—NO—WAIT—!"

Igris cleaved through her right arm, severing it cleanly.

Phryne howled, stumbling back, blood spraying across the floor in thick arcs.

Damien stepped forward.

Her eyes shook. She backed away on trembling legs.

"W-wait—stop! STOP! PLEASE! I—I'll—"She saw his mask. She saw no pity in it.

"DON'T—DON'T KILL ! I CAN—"

She never finished.

Damien's blades crossed once.Twice.The third strike took her head cleanly.

Phryne Jamil collapsed in silence, her blood pooling across the inn's floorboards.

The battlefield went quiet.

The silence after Phryne's death felt heavier than the corpse itself.

Damien stepped over the severed head without pause. His shadows receded behind him, still trembling with leftover bloodlust. The remaining Ishtar Familia mbers—maybe a dozen—stood frozen. So dropped their weapons. So trembled so violently their armor rattled.

Samira and Lena stood back-to-back, blades shaking, eyes wide with horror.

Their captain lay decapitated.Their vice-captain torn apart.Half their comrades slaughtered by an enemy who didn't even bother to speak.

Damien's gaze settled on Phryne's corpse.Cold. Unreadable.

"You don't even deserve to be a Shadow…" he muttered, voice low behind the mask. "Rot, bitch."

Then he walked toward the last survivors.

Samira sucked air through her teeth.Lena's legs nearly buckled.

Damien lifted his blade.

Aisha dropped between them in a heartbeat.

"Damien, NO!"

He halted mid-swing, eyes narrowing behind the mask.

Samira blinked."Damien?!" she gasped, voice cracking. "Damien… that's you?!"

His jaw tightened.

"Well," he said flatly, "there goes my cover." He pointed the dagger toward their throats. "Now they have to die."

"W-wait!" Haruhi's voice rang from the stairs. She ran down barefoot, still glowing faintly from magic, ears trembling. "Hero, please! No… not them!"

Damien tilted his head slightly, silent.

Haruhi stumbled between Aisha and the two won, bowing deeply."Samira and Lena… they were good to . They protected . They fed when the others wouldn't. They whispered warnings to when Ishtar tried to sell off. They aren't like the others…" Her eyes glistened. "Please… don't hurt them…"

Aisha exhaled hard."She's right. And Damien… you've already destroyed the familia's backbone." She gestured to the carnage. "You killed half of Ishtar Familia tonight. The captain and vice-captain are dead. Do you understand what that ans?"

Damien said nothing.

Aisha continued."Ishtar will crumble under her own weight now. Scandals will co. Enemies will swarm. You don't need to kill the ones who showed kindness to Haruhi."

Damien stood still for several seconds. The inn crackled with small fires around them, the sll of burnt wood and blood intertwining.

Finally, he sighed.

"Fine."

Samira and Lena sagged in relief, trembling, but Haruhi froze as Damien continued:

"But you won't speak my na to her. Not a breath. Not a whisper. Understood?"

Both won nodded violently.

"Oh," Damien added quietly, "and I still need to do this."

Before they could react, he vanished.

Three black blurs struck simultaneously.

Damien.

Igris.

Adonis.

Samira and Lena went limp instantly, collapsing into Aisha's arms, as she stared at Damien with shock only to be on the receiving end of his own punch, knocked out as well

Damien turned toward Haruhi, the danger fading from his posture as if a switch had been thrown.

"Let's go, princess," he said, reaching a hand toward her. "Your friends are waiting."

Haruhi nodded softly and took his hand, her tail trembling with relief and fear. Shadows swirled around Damien's feet, and together they stepped out of the ruined inn—leaving behind the shattered remains of Ishtar Familia.
