Chapter 1224: Chapter 454: Passing the Buck

At this mont, generals approached Admiral Xinlad at the front row, enthusiastically greeting him.

“General Xinlad, you’ve co to attend this eting too.”

“Hmm, I was originally planning to take a good rest for a while and not deal with matters. But I received a notification from the Council, so I had to co over.”

Xinlad replied with a bit of emotion.

“Lord Xinlad, how could you not be involved? The Federation is in dire need of people now; it can’t do without you!”

“That’s right, Lord Xinlad. Even though you didn’t get promoted to General this ti, that position is sooner or later yours.”

“Exactly….”

The crowd flattered him in quick succession.

“I appreciate your kind words.”

Xinlad smiled in response.

At this mont, a middle-aged man in a Junior General Uniform, with dark skin and a robust build, approached Su Ming and greeted him proactively.

“You must be General Su Ming?”

“Hmm, and you are?”

Su Ming curiously examined the man in front of him, having no recollection of him.

“My na is Wang Feng, the garrison general of Earth Fla Star. Very pleased to et you.”

“The pleasure is mine.”

“Well, is there anyone sitting next to you?”

Wang Feng asked with a cheerful smile.

“No, please have a seat.”

Su Ming replied politely.

Wang Feng then sat down beside Su Ming, wanting to exchange a few more words, but for a mont, he didn’t know what to say.

Then several more generals approached, greeted Su Ming, and took nearby seats.

Su Ming imdiately felt the oddity; he seed to be more popular than before, with many people intentionally approaching him.

But it was normal, given that at the current Council seating, everyone seated was grouped in clusters, with very distinct factions.

At that mont, the sound of firm footsteps was heard.

Su Ming turned his head to see a man in a General Uniform, with a chiseled face and sun-darkened skin; his body was all muscular like steel, leading a group of officers, walking in with great presence.

All the eyes at the scene were drawn to him.

Su Ming, watching this scene, curiously asked Alifei.

“Who is that person? He seems very imposing.”

“This guy is quite impressive. He’s Admiral Alotren, the garrison general of the Tianlan Star defense line, very adept at defensive battles, known as the impregnable iron wall! He’s in charge of the rear production area, which is a cushy job. Oh, I forgot to ntion, this guy is aligned with Long Lan, yet here he is at this eting too.”

Admiral Alifei introduced with so surprise.

“Hmm, I understand.”

Su Ming nodded slightly.

At this point, Alotren walked to the front row area, exchanged a few brief words with Long Lan, Farren, and others, and then sat in the first row, with the generals beside him taking seats behind.

The entire Council Hall gradually started to buzz with activity.

At this mont, Gakels entered through the main door with a tense expression.

The eyes of Su Ming and the others all focused on Gakels, and they quieted down.

Gakels stepped up to the podium, swept his muddled gaze across everyone present, and said in a deep voice,

“Thank you all for coming to this joint eting.”

Clap, clap~

Su Ming and others raised their hands and began to applaud, as proper procedures were necessary.

Gakels raised his hand to signal everyone to stop and then, with a serious expression, said,

“Let’s start discussing matters now, first regarding the funding allocation for the Abyss of Descent and the Tidal Star Sea. The internal defense line of the Abyss of Descent suffered a massive attack from the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country; although we eventually won, nearly half of the defense weapons were destroyed, with significant casualties and a severe shortage of resources, desperately needing a large amount of funds and supplies! As for the Tidal Star Sea, the defeat there also requires a lot of funds and supplies.”

Upon saying this, Dawn Hall fell into a deep silence; no one picked up Gakels’ words.

Gakels was not embarrassed and sighed while saying,

“Although the Federation managed to bring back a lot of resources this ti, all those resources have purposes, and the surplus is very little. The funding that the Federation can provide is limited. I hope everyone can lend a helping hand at this crucial mont, contribute money if you have money, contribute supplies if you have supplies, contribute weapons if you have weapons, anything would help.”

Yet the scene was still dead silent, as if everyone had beco mute.

Farren, watching this, grumbled helplessly,

“Has everyone beco mute? Can anyone say anything?”

At this point, a council mber reluctantly stood up and spoke,

“Lord Gakels, Lord Farren, the subsidies for Earth Fla Star haven’t co through this year, and the lower levels are demanding them. Where do we find money and supplies for donations? Can’t we get a bit allocated to us this year? Our situation is dire.”

Hearing the council mber’s words, Su Ming also rubbed his forehead, speechless.

Here they were soliciting donations, yet the leading council mber was asking for subsidies in return.

Hearing Councilman Kang An’s words, Gakels and Farren both had their expressions slightly contorted, but there was nothing they could do about it.

“The subsidy matter will be discussed later, please sit down.”

Gakels said in a deep voice.

“Understood.”

Councilman Kang An sighed lightly and sat down.

“I won’t say much more about the donation issue. I hope after the eting, everyone can contribute whatever little they can. anwhile, I will also call for public donations.”

Gakels did not continue to dwell on this matter.

“Understood!”

Everyone responded in unison.
