Deluca spoke with a stern face.
"I refuse."
Celeste looked pitifully at Su Ming.
Su Ming frowned, he hadn’t expected Dr. Deluca to want to take back Celeste. But it made sense, after all, Celeste was soone reliable.
"I think Celeste should stay with ; I can’t operate the V-series bio-ch without her."
Su Ming took a deep breath and said.
Deluca and the others looked at Long Bai.
Seeing Su Ming speak up, Long Bai responded indifferently.
"Relying solely on Celeste won’t be enough for defense; it won’t have much effect. The urgent task now is to perfect all the Light Computers, and activate multiple Light Computers for combined defense."
"Yes!"
Seeing Long Bai’s stance, Deluca didn’t argue further.
"Oh yeah!"
Celeste was very happy upon hearing this.
Su Ming smiled slightly as well.
At that mont, heavy footsteps could be heard, and Su Ming and the others turned their heads. A tall man, standing at 2.3 ters with a sturdy build, wearing Fourth Generation Heavy Armor and sporting a rugged beard, approached with a group of subordinates.
"Lord Long Bai, all the Chilami inside the Xi Guang Laboratory have been cleared out."
"Hecacus, you’ve done well."
Long Bai spoke calmly.
"That is my duty."
Hecacus replied solemnly.
"Have your n withdraw from the Xi Guang Laboratory and handle the external security. Once the lab resus normal operations, your task will be complete."
Long Bai instructed Hecacus.
"Yes!"
Hecacus answered respectfully.
"Everyone, disperse!"
Long Bai then turned to the crowd and announced.
"Alright."
Everyone responded in agreent.

A mont later, Su Ming and Long Bai walked out of the Xi Guang Laboratory.
Su Ming quietly followed next to Long Bai, the atmosphere was sowhat delicate.
Long Bai then broke the silence, giving Su Ming a word of caution.
"Everything you saw on the second floor underground must be kept confidential, don’t ntion it to anyone."
"Understood."
Su Ming nodded in agreent.
He was indeed curious about what was behind the doors, but since Long Bai had explicitly said so, Su Ming wisely chose not to inquire further.
Sotis, the more you know, the quicker your demise. However, the secrets hidden within the Xi Guang Laboratory are nurous indeed.
"You did well in the rescue of the Xi Guang Laboratory. The corresponding rewards will be settled later."
"Thank you, Lord Long Bai."
Su Ming responded respectfully.
"Alright, get so rest."
Long Bai said to Su Ming.
"Yes!"
Su Ming stopped and replied respectfully.
Long Bai then left directly.

Su Ming lay on his bed browsing the Star Cluster Forum, which was filled with posts about the Starlight City’s Level One Alert incident.
"It was really terrifying, what on earth happened yesterday?"
"Not sure, the officials haven’t clarified either; I just heard from rumors that Chilami invaded."
"How could there be Chilami in Starlight City?"
"Seems like they escaped from S District."
"What’s going on, isn’t S District the Xi Guang Laboratory?"
"Yeah, I heard many people died, and the central hospital of Starlight City was locked down, stopping services for ordinary patients."

Su Ming scrolled to this point, then swiped up on the interface, noticing a latest announcent post pinned to the top of the hopage.

"Old Era 4621, August 3rd, the Federation Governnt held an ergency joint eting, during which 136 mbers including Bai Kedi jointly impeached the Biological Departnt of the Xi Guang Laboratory, accusing the bio-cha they developed of being extrely dangerous and highly unstable, with significant hidden risks. They are demanding the termination of the project and the destruction of related products."
"Old Era 4621, August 3rd, the Federation Governnt held an ergency joint eting, during which the Federation Finance Departnt issued a financial warning, proposing a military spending cut plan."

As Su Ming read these announcents, his heart sank to the bottom.
As expected, the after-the-fact bla had arrived. Although they managed to control the situation swiftly yesterday, pressing down most of the rampaging bio-chas in S District, so fighting still spilled over to adjacent areas, causing casualties to civilians.
But what shocked Su Ming the most wasn’t the impeachnt against the Xi Guang Laboratory, but the proposal to cut military spending. With the Federation currently at war with Dark Star and Tianqi, no one but a fool would propose cutting military spending at this critical juncture, not even in the face of a fiscal deficit.
The occurrence of such a situation suggests only one possibility: the financial deficit must be enormous, on the verge of a total collapse, and truly untenable.
If that were the case, things would get very troubleso.

Suddenly, Su Ming’s bracelet vibrated, and a ssage popped up.
"Dear Admiral Su Ming, due to your outstanding performance in the defense battle at the Xi Guang Laboratory, you are hereby rewarded with 6000 military rit points...."
Su Ming was sowhat surprised as he read the settlent information; Long Bai’s efficiency was indeed impressive.
At this mont, another ssage unexpectedly popped up, containing just one word.
"Good!"
This ssage was sent by Senior Sister Irelia.
As he looked at this ssage, Su Ming froze, his mind montarily unable to process it.
What did that "good" an?
He quickly regained his composure, imdiately scrolled up to review the chat history, and discovered that the last ssage he had sent to Senior Sister Irelia after the Star Storage event was:
