Black Fla Star City Lord Mansion·Administrative Building’s waiting hall.
A man with a tall and straight figure, dressed in a black suit, with a clear-cut, rugged face, deep and icy eyes, a hawkish nose, and thin lips, sat quietly waiting in his chair.
Behind him followed two male subordinates, the one on the left was muscular and tall, standing at 2.1 ters, with bushy eyebrows and large eyes.
The man on the right was short, with dark skin and an anxious expression.
“Your Highness Yakes, you have been sitting here for seven days.
You can’t keep on sitting like this, your body won’t take it,”
the short man said with a worried tone.
“It doesn’t matter, Kaber,”
Yakes replied with an extrely determined look in his eyes, not at all shaken.
“Ah, Laken, won’t you say sothing?”
Kaber turned to address the large man standing beside him.
Laken rely lowered his head in silence; with no choice under the eaves, he had to bow his head.
He understood better than anyone how proud Lord Yakes was, and that he wouldn’t be doing this if it weren’t for the Kingdom.
Just then, a man dressed in the attire of an administrative officer, his face lined with wrinkles and his temples white, walked by with his hands behind his back, his brow deeply furrowed, accompanied by so subordinates.
“Lord Roli, may I ask…
about the City Lord…”
Yakes hurriedly stood up to inquire.
“Your Highness Yakes, don’t waste your energy any longer, the Black Fla City Lord will not see you.
Nor will he allow you to go to the Federation.
The Federation, although deeply saddened, will not intervene in the affairs of Actons Kingdom,”
Roli stated bluntly and cruelly.
Yakes’s facial expression twitched upon hearing Roli’s words, but he clenched his teeth and continued,
“Lord Roli, please let see the City Lord just once.
If that’s really not possible, at least let go to the Federation.
I will not give up, the Imperial Army is already invading our country.”
“Why can’t you understand?
Just leave!”
“Lord Roli!”
“What are you standing there for?
Please show His Highness Yakes out!”
Roli could not be bothered to exchange further words with Yakes and directed his subordinates instead.
The subordinates approached one by one, extending their hands with unfriendly words.
“Please!”
Yakes’s left hand clenched into a fist, his knuckles cracking, but he still walked out with his subordinates.
Soon after, Yakes and his two companions were escorted out by the City Lord Mansion’s personnel.
“What do we do now, Lord Yakes?
The Federation, those cowards, seem to have their hearts set on being turtles, concerned only with pulling their resources back and not caring about anything else,”
Kaber asked urgently.
Yakes took a deep breath, his holand was engulfed in a tumultuous storm, teetering on the brink of collapse.
Yet at this most critical juncture, the Federation’s betrayal filled him with despair.
However, Yakes refused to accept his fate, a raging inferno kindled within him.
He raised his head, his eyes fixed on the majestic doors of the Black Fla City Lord Mansion, his gaze sharp as icy blades, sending shivers down the spine.
It was then that Mia, accompanied by Su Ming and Rhein, appeared at the bottom of the stairs leading to the City Lord Mansion’s gates.
Su Ming inadvertently caught Yakes’s piercing gaze, causing his brow to furrow instantly.
“Let’s go!”
Yakes spoke coldly, then turned and led them down the stairs.
Soon, Su Ming and Yakes’s group passed by each other.
At that mont, Su Ming stopped, turning to look at Yakes’s receding figure, falling into contemplation.
Su Ming was certain this man was no simple character; that brief eye contact felt highly dangerous to him.
“Su Ming, what’s wrong?”
Rhein’s voice called out, snapping Su Ming out of his thoughts.
He quickly ca to his senses and replied,
“Nothing, I’m coming.”
Imdiately afterward, Su Ming quickly followed the others.
Mia led Su Ming and Rhein to the interior of the City Lord’s Mansion·Administrative Building.
The entire administrative hall was decorated very simply, with no excessive adornnts, and even the floor was laid with the most ordinary black square tiles.
However, the place was bustling with people dealing with formalities, among whom were many officers in military uniforms.
“Alright, I’ve got so things to handle.
You two go to window number 1 and process the paperwork for Hai Lan and her daughter.”
Mia directed Su Ming and Rhein.
“Teacher, are you sure we can manage?
They won’t make things difficult for us, will they?”
Rhein asked with so doubt.
“Just tell the person processing, this is requested by the Imperial Court Academy, and their superiors have already been notified.
Let them check with their superiors.
After the paperwork is done, wait for at the City Lord’s Mansion’s main gate.”
Mia instructed them briefly, then walked further inside.
Su Ming and Rhein exchanged glances and headed toward window number 1 in the administrative hall.
When they reached window number 1, they faced a queue of people.
Su Ming and Rhein patiently lined up.
About an hour later, it was finally their turn.
The person attending to them was a woman with fashionable attire and brown curly hair who looked at Su Ming and Rhein and asked, very coldly.
“What service do you require?”
“We need to process temporary passports and exit docunts for Hai Lan and Catherine from the Neutral Country!”
Su Ming stated their intention clearly.
The woman at the counter, as well as the people lined up behind Su Ming, all looked at the two with disbelief.
“It can’t be done!”
The female staff mber didn’t even think before she flatly rejected them.
The people behind Su Ming then spoke up with laughter.
“Buddy, did a donkey kick your head?
Helping soone with this sort of request at such a critical ti, who do you think you are?”
…
Su Ming sighed lightly as he reviewed everyone’s reaction; it seed like Black Fla City truly took people for granted.
Granted, this could bring in a wealth of benefits, but being too ruthless wasn’t necessarily a good thing.
Who knows, maybe one day the tides would turn.
Then Rhein spoke up very bluntly to the female staff mber.
“What do you an it can’t be done?
We’re here on behalf of the Imperial Court Academy.
And your supervisor has been briefed, go and check for yourself.”
Upon hearing Rhein’s words, the woman at the counter imdiately switched her attitude one hundred and eighty degrees and apologetically said.
“Please, don’t be upset.
I will verify it right away, and if there’s no problem, I’ll get it done for you!”
The people on-site were also stunned, watching Su Ming and Rhein in amazent, then one by one they shut their mouths.
Su Ming and Rhein stood quietly waiting.
…
More than two hours later.
Su Ming and Rhein, holding the completed paperwork, squatted at the entrance of the City Lord’s Mansion, bored out of their minds waiting for Mia.
“Teacher Mia, what in the world is taking so long, why hasn’t she co out yet?”
Rhein said, feeling puzzled.
“I’m not sure, probably held up by sothing.”
Su Ming replied calmly.
Just then, Mia ca out of the City Lord Mansion, her expression sowhat grave.
Su Ming and Rhein quickly stood up to et her.
Mia spoke directly to the two as they approached.
“If you need to buy anything, hurry up and do it, we’re getting on the ship and leaving tomorrow morning.”
