“Ankaga, why didn’t you go to sleep?”

Ankaga explained as he saw Su Ming awaken.
“Hmm, where are Rhein and the others?”
Su Ming looked towards the other empty iron beds and then asked.
“They went back to the hangar.”
Ankaga stood up, stretching and replied.
Su Ming got up from the bed and said to Ankaga,
“Let’s go to the hangar too.
You can take a nap in the cockpit there.”
“Alright!”
Ankaga nodded.
Su Ming left the room with Ankaga and headed towards the hangar.

Half an hour later, Su Ming and Ankaga arrived at the hangar via a chanical platform.
The whole hangar was bustling with mbers of the Holy Army, moving stuff around.
Su Ming led Ankaga towards the docking area of the Slaughterer.
As they neared, Su Ming saw a group of Holy Army mbers working on the Slaughterer with welding sparks flying everywhere.
Rhein and others gathered together to watch.
“Rhein!”
Su Ming called out sowhat blankly.
“Boss, you’re here!”
Hearing Su Ming’s call, Rhein and the others ca over.
“What’s going on?”
Su Ming asked, confused.
“It’s like this, the Holy Army said they would repair cha and wanted to help fix yours.”
“What?
They know how to repair?
And they have materials?”
“Uh, we thought the sa.
But your cha was so broken, it couldn’t even stand without legs, so we just accepted their help.”
Rhein explained to Su Ming.
Upon hearing Rhein’s explanation, Su Ming walked closer to get a better look.
The sight before him exacerbated his headache.
He saw a Holy Army chanical repairer welding a tal pole to the Slaughterer, serving as a makeshift left leg.
The whole cha now looked strange and mismatched, like a person with a prosthetic limb.
Seeing Su Ming staring silently at the Slaughterer, Rhein tried to console him,
“Boss, it’s free so we can’t expect too much.
At least the cha can stand now.”
“Fine…”
Su Ming took a deep breath, trying to stabilize his emotions.
At that mont, his stomach also started growling, prompting him to ask,
“Rhein, is there any food?”
“Yeah, I’ll go get you so now!”
Rhein imdiately ran towards his cha.
Rhein soon ca back with a large pack of vacuum-sealed jerky and bottled water for Su Ming.
Su Ming opened the water, took a sip, then started eating the jerky.
As he ate, Holy Army personnel moving supplies nearby caught sight of him and stared in awe.
So were so distracted they bumped into colleagues walking in front of them.
“Why did you bump into ?”

Though the Holy Army personnel hesitated, they involuntarily swallowed.
Seeing this, Su Ming said to Rhein,
“Rhein, do we have more?”
“Yes, we have plenty of supplies on our side.”
“Get so for them.”
“Okay!”
Rhein and others imdiately went back to the cha to fetch more.
Soon, they ca back holding a pile of jerky, which Su Ming grabbed handfuls of and tossed to the Holy Army personnel.
“This doesn’t seem right…”
The Holy Army mbers, obviously touched, responded.
“It’s just a bit of food, nothing wrong with that.
Try so of our specialties.”
Su Ming reassured them.
“Well, then we won’t be shy.”
They unwrapped the jerky and shared it among themselves.
“Wow, this is so delicious.”
“The texture of this at is different from what we usually eat.”
“Yeah, it’s super tasty; I’ve never had anything like this in my life.”

The mont they tasted the jerky, they excitedly acted like children.
Watching this scene, Rhein and others felt a bit lancholic.
In the Federation Military Departnt, jerky was a common supply item, cheaper even than nutrition bars.
After finishing his jerky, Su Ming calmly asked Rhein,
“Rhein, any news about the Emperor?”
“Not yet, the Holy Army mbers who went out to search haven’t returned.”

Just then, a dilapidated Third Generation cha flew into the hangar flanked by a squad of Beast Teeth cha.
“Su Ming, it looks like they’re back!”
Rhein joyfully told Su Ming.
Su Ming turned his head toward the leading Third Generation cha and was montarily surprised.
Upon closer inspection, one could barely make out that the cha was a Gun Knight, one of the earliest models from 300 years ago, effectively an antique among antiques.
At that mont, the Gun Knight and its subordinates moved to their docking stations and secured themselves.

Novlin, dressed in Second Generation Exoskeleton Armor, jumped down followed by Bair and others.
Su Ming then led Rhein and others towards Novlin and her group.
Upon their return, Kaff and others hurriedly ca forward.
“Mister Su Ming.”
Novlin greeted when she saw Su Ming approaching.
