Chapter 759: Chapter 377 Divergence (Six-in-One)_6

Su Ming walked over and asked suspiciously.

“What are you doing here?”

When Admiral Taite and the others saw Su Ming coming over, they raised their fingers, pointing inside the room.

Su Ming turned his head to look at the slightly ajar door and heard the sounds of Lord Okens and Commander Alekde arguing.

“Have you lost your mind? Do you not know who that guy is?”

“Of course I know who he is, no need for you to remind .”

Su Ming looked at General Taite in astonishnt and asked.

“What’s going on, why did they start arguing?”

“Why else? Lord Okens and Commander Alekde have a disagreent over whom to support; one wants to support the Third Prince, the other the Seventh Prince. Now neither is willing to compromise, and they’ve been arguing for half a day.”

General Taite said in a deep voice.

Upon hearing Admiral Taite’s words, Su Ming’s heart imdiately sank.

He couldn’t believe Commander Alekde had been persuaded by the other side.

At that mont, the arguing inside the room beca even more intense, and Okens said angrily.

“Alekde, I’m done talking to you about this, you must follow my decision on this matter. Do you want to defy the Council?”

“Co on! The Council’s directive is to take over the Shabask Kingdom; it doesn’t matter who’s put in power. You’re pushing the Seventh Prince; that’s just your personal opinion.”

“This matter was fully entrusted to by the Council; I am the representative of the Council.”

“Troubles arise in the field; military commands may not always be obeyed. I have my own judgnt.”

“You’re impressive!”

Bam~

The sound of a heavy table slap could be heard.

Seeing the escalating argunt, Su Ming asked with a peculiar expression.

“Won’t you go in and try to calm them down?”

Admiral Taite and the others all turned to look at General Gabres and General Sigurd.

In the end, the two stood there with sullen faces and said.

“Don’t look at us; we’re not getting involved in this sort of political decision-making.”

Upon hearing this, Su Ming and the others each let out a helpless sigh.

Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Okens stord out with an angry face.

Everyone was taken aback and quickly stood at attention.

Finding so many people standing at the door, Okens angrily said.

“What are you all standing here for? Disperse!”

“Yes.”

Admiral Taite and the others promptly replied.

“Humph!”

Okens then flicked his sleeves and walked away.

Su Ming hesitated for a few seconds before quickly catching up with Okens.

He soon followed Okens back into the room, where Okens sat angrily in a chair.

Su Ming cautiously asked.

“Lord, what happened?”

Upon hearing Su Ming’s inquiry, Okens responded irritably.

“That Third Prince rit must have promised Alekde so incredible benefit, convincing him to support him for the throne. That fool isn’t even considering who rit really is!”

“Lord, does the Third Prince have a bad reputation?”

Su Ming asked with a furrowed brow.

“Bad is an understatent. That guy is a double-dealer, sinister and cunning, willing to use any ans to achieve his goals. Today, he might betray the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country to join us, and tomorrow he could sell us out!”

“Then, Lord, why don’t you tell Commander Alekde clearly that such a person is completely untrustworthy? Even if he gains power, he won’t keep his promises. It’s obvious he’s making empty checks.”

“Su Ming, you don’t understand; Alekde is not afraid of the Third Prince rit not keeping his promises. Because he holds significant military power, rit wouldn’t dare betray. Plus, rit will proactively keep his promises because he needs Commander Alekde! In fact, whoever ascends makes no real difference to the Federation; whether it’s the Third Prince or the Seventh Prince, there’s not much difference on the surface.”

Okens explained to Su Ming.

“Then why do you so strongly oppose the Third Prince’s ascension?”

Su Ming asked, looking at Okens with interest.

“Su Ming, listen to ; although we politicians often look at benefits, sotis it’s not just about benefits. If this Third Prince dares to betray Tianqi today, he’ll dare to betray us when the Federation is weak, there’s nothing he wouldn’t do! He promises so many benefits to us, early on he’ll dutifully deliver them, but as ti goes by, I don’t believe he can hold onto his restraint! Essentially, it’s the difference between having a feast today and having enough to eat every day.”

Okens said reasonably.

“Lord, shouldn’t Commander Alekde understand this reasoning too?”

“Of course he understands, the problem is the benefits promised are just too good. Let tell you one of the chips Alekde leaked: the Third Prince is willing to use the people of the Heavenly Revelation Divine Country and the Dark Star Empire to fight to the bitter end. When they are both exhausted, we can swoop in and harvest without much effort. Just this alone will save us untold amounts of effort, lives, and military expenses.”

“The promised benefits are truly extraordinary! Honestly, I’m tempted, but there’s a saying that poison, no matter how sweet, is still poison, and it will ultimately be self-destructive.”

Su Ming smiled wryly and said.

“That’s exactly right, but Commander Alekde won’t listen to , and I just can’t overpower him.”

“Lord Okens, without Commander Alekde’s support, how will you champion the Seventh Prince’s ascension? After all, all the troops here are under his command.”

“Alas, I know, which is why I argued so fiercely. If you think about it, Alekde is tempted to help the Third Prince for a reason, we cannot entirely bla him.”

Okens said calmly, with a hint of helplessness.
