Su Yuan scratched his head as he looked at the three remaining people and asked.
“Father, don’t worry about it; we’ll handle it ourselves.
You and mother go back first; I’ll hang out with my classmates and then head ho.”
Su Ming politely declined his father’s kind offer.
“Alright, have a good ti together then; we’re leaving first.”
Su Yuan and Zhao Ning didn’t seem to be disheartened and promptly agreed to leave first.
After his uncle and aunt left, Chen Tong turned to Su Ming and said,
“With just the four of us, let’s not go to a hotel or anything like that; it would be too boring.”
Chen Tong voiced his thoughts to Su Ming.
On one hand, he felt that it would be uninteresting, and he also didn’t want Su Ming to spend too much.
“Then where should we go?”
Su Ming was also a bit stumped for a mont.
At this point, Mink’s eyes lit up, and he said to Su Ming and the others,
“I know a great spot!”
“Where?”
Both Su Ming and Chen Tong looked curiously at Mink.
Just as Mink was about to explain to Su Ming and the others, Zhao Ran suddenly saw Principal Luo Ken accompanied by a group of reporters heading their way and hurriedly warned them,
“We need to hurry; Principal Luo Ken is coming with a bunch of reporters.”
Su Ming and the others turned their heads for a glance and were instantly startled.
“Let’s get moving; this guy is definitely after Su Ming.
If he catches us, we won’t be able to escape for at least two hours.”
Chen Tong said with a dark expression.
“Go!”
Su Ming imdiately led Chen Tong and the others to make their escape.
….
An hour later.
Su Ming and the others arrived on the west side of Upper City·Echo Street, each carrying a plastic bag.
“Mink, what place were you talking about?
Isn’t this a comrcial street?”
Su Ming had been here before; it was an entire street dedicated to selling clothing, jewelry, luxury goods, and other comrcial items.
“Don’t ask so much; just follow , and you’ll see.”
Mink confidently played the mysterious card.
Not wanting to press further, Su Ming and the others had to patiently follow him.
Soon, the four of them arrived at Echo Street·Sky Rail Main Support Pillar.
A massive, three-hundred-ter-tall alloy structure stretched all the way to the sky.
The base of this structure was enclosed and featured a securely closed iron gate.
Usually, this place was devoid of people, but if necessary, one could open the iron gate, go inside, and climb the external spiral staircase for maintenance work.
As Su Ming and the others were wondering why Mink had brought them here, he nonchalantly pulled out a key and easily unlocked the tightly sealed gate.
“Quick, let’s go in.”
Su Ming and the others were startled and hastily went inside.
Mink followed, closing the iron door behind him.
Soon after, the group climbed up the maintenance spiral staircase.
About fifteen minutes later, they reached a tallic platform jutting out at 250 ters.
“It’s right here.”
Mink said cheerfully, with a cool breeze blowing over them.
Standing on the maintenance platform, Su Ming gazed into the distance, taking in the beautiful scenery of Upper City District.
At that mont, a sky rail train zood by in the distance, roaring over their heads.
“Wow, sky rail!”
Zhao Ran exclaid excitedly.
“This place is cool, isn’t it!”
Mink sat down on the ground and opened the bag he was carrying, pulling out bottle after bottle of beer.
“Pretty good!”
Su Ming sat down and then took out several packets wrapped in synthetic paper from the plastic bag he was carrying.
Zhao Ran crouched down to help open the synthetic paper, revealing the sauce-coated at and jerky inside.
Chen Tong opened four bottles of chilled beer and handed one to Su Ming and the others, then took a curious sip and asked,
“Mink, how did you know about this place, and how did you get the keys?”
Su Ming was also curious as he looked toward Mink, as this place wasn’t one just anyone could find.
Mink smiled and replied,
“My father is a sky rail maintenance engineer, I often co here with him.”
“I see.”
Su Ming and the others suddenly realized.
“Let’s make a toast.
After today, we’ll probably all go our separate ways.
It’ll be hard to get together again in the future.”
Mink raised his bottle and said.
“Sure!”
Su Ming and the others clinked their beer bottles and each took a big gulp.
However, when they finished drinking, they all fell into silence, looking sowhat lancholic.
Just as Mink had said, after today they would each go their own way.
Seeing the heavy atmosphere, Su Ming said with a smile,
“Don’t be so sad, it’s not like we’ll never see each other again.
Maybe the schools we apply to will be in the sa city.
Mink, tell us where you plan to apply?”
“My scores are pretty good, I plan to apply to the academy in Rain Capital; I have relatives there, so I’ll get so help.”
Mink didn’t hide anything and directly shared his plans, which of course were arranged by his parents.
Su Ming nodded and turned to look at Zhao Ran.
“And you?”
“My scores aren’t enough, I only got 141 on the comprehensive exam, so I can only apply to the schools in Thirteenth District.”
Zhao Ran responded regretfully.
After hearing this, Su Ming then looked at Chen Tong and said,
“What about you, Chen Tong?
Why not apply to the academies in Starlight City?
Although you only just passed the comprehensive exam, your cha score is high, you should be able to choose a good school.”
“I’ll think about it, I haven’t decided yet.”
Chen Tong said very hesitantly.
“What’s there to hesitate about?
If you have a choice, of course, the schools in Starlight City are the best.”
Su Ming looked at Chen Tong with a trace of puzzlent.
“Sigh, I’m not sure yet.”
Chen Tong said sowhat fumblingly.
Seeing this, Zhao Ran imdiately tried to persuade Chen Tong,
“Chen Tong, why don’t you apply to Starlight City with Su Ming?
It’s a place with more prospects!”
“I’ll think about it; I haven’t decided yet.
We still have a few days before the deadline to submit our choices.
Let’s not talk about this anymore, let’s talk about sothing else!”
Chen Tong awkwardly changed the subject.
“Then let’s talk about dreams.
Do you guys have any dreams?”
Zhao Ran tilted his head, thought for a mont, and said,
“Of course.”
Mink was the first to respond.
“Your dream isn’t still to get into Imperial Court Academy, is it?”
Su Ming teased as he looked at Mink.
“No, I’ve co to terms with reality now, my abilities are limited!
My dream now is to join the military after graduation and beco a brave soldier!
This was also my father’s dream once, he didn’t fulfill it, but now I will.”
Mink coughed and explained.
“That’s pretty good, what about you, Zhao Ran?”
Su Ming then turned to Zhao Ran.
“Well, I don’t want to join the military.
My dream is to live a peaceful life, make lots of money to support my parents.
Both of them are public servants in Thirteenth District, but their salary is very limited; it wasn’t easy for them to raise .”
Zhao Ran thought for a mont and replied.
“Not bad, and you, Chen Tong?”
Su Ming promptly looked at Chen Tong and asked.
