The silence in the carriage stretched, taut as a bowstring. Shen Yu leaned back against the dark wood, his eyes half-lidded, watching the woman across from him crumble under the weight of her own mortality. He didn’t speak. He simply let the fear fernt.

ng Yan gripped her knees, her knuckles white. The heat in her belly was no longer just a discomfort; it was a roaring furnace, terrified by the prophecy of madness he had just delivered.

"What is it? Please," she finally choked out, leaning in until the distance between them evaporated. Her scent, a heady mix of rare orchids and cold, sharp fear, washed over him.

Shen Yu didn’t retreat. Instead, he leaned forward, invading her personal space until his breath fanned against the sensitive shell of her ear.

"It is a matter of elental balance," he explained, his voice dropping to a hypnotic whisper that vibrated in her chest.

"The Frozen Lotus Heart Fla is a Yin-attribute fire. Generally, it is excellent for won. However..." He paused, letting his gaze drift over her flushed face. "You are a woman, a pure Yin entity. You are consuming a Yin fla. You are adding ice to a frozen lake. Without a release... without a source of pure Yang to balance it... the energy has begun to rot."

"It has accumulated like sludge in your ridians," he finished, his tone turning clinically grim. "Rotting you from the inside out."

ng Yan’s breath hitched. It made terrifying sense.

"So, first," he commanded softly, "you must stop cultivating imdiately."

ng Yan nodded rapidly, her eyes wide. "Done. And the second?"

Shen Yu looked at her, his expression shifting to one of hesitation.

"The stagnation is caused by an excess of Yin Qi that has nowhere to go. Since I cannot use my own Qi to guide it out, I must use a technique from the ancient scrolls, a specific, manual massage designed to target the ’Sunken Yin’ acupoints."

He pulled back just enough to see her pupils dilate, the black swallowing the hazel of her irises.

"It can manually dredge the ridians and force the excess fire out of your body, providing instant relief," he whispered, the words hanging in the small space like smoke. "But... it is a physical treatnt, Senior. And it requires touching areas... far more intimate than your stomach."

He held her gaze, his golden eyes piercing through her defenses.

"If we are to save your life, Senior, you must decide if your dignity is worth more than your soul."

ng Yan stared at him, her heart thudding so hard it rattled her ribcage. She looked at his silver hair, his calm, clinical gaze, and then at the broad, calloused hands that had just made her feel more alive than she had in a decade.

A silent war erupted behind her eyes.

It wasn’t just about sha; it was about who she was.

Ten years ago, when her husband, Clan Leader Jin Wei, had died, the Jin Clan had been on the brink of total collapse. The wolves had circled, rival clans, greedy elders, debt collectors, all waiting to tear the family apart. It was ng Yan who had stepped out of the mourning hall, dried her tears, and beco a creature of ice and iron.

She had purged the traitors. She had stabilized the businesses. She had raised the clan from the ashes of tragedy to the peak of power, earning the title of the "Jade Widow", beautiful, untouchable, and cold.

For a decade, she had been a pillar of light, a solitary monunt to strength. She had never allowed a man to touch her, never allowed a mont of weakness.

To submit to this... to let a man, a junior, touch her in such a way... it felt like shattering the statue she had built with her own blood.

But then the heat flared in her gut, a sharp, agonizing reminder of her mortality. The ice was lting, and the fire was eating her alive.

Shen Yu watched the conflict play out on her face. The Primordial Yin-Yang Scripture humd within him, tasting the delicious, chaotic flavor of her emotions.

He saw the lust, yes, she looked like a woman on the edge of breaking, but he also saw the steel spine of a Matriarch. He realized then that she wasn’t just a "bitch in heat" to be conquered; she was a ruler fighting for her life. If he pushed too hard now, her pride might force her to refuse, even if it ant death.

He needed to give her a way out. He needed to be the one to offer her a retreat, so she wouldn’t feel cornered.

He leaned back, breaking the suffocating intimacy of the mont. The predatory gleam in his eyes vanished instantly, replaced by a look of profound, respectful understanding.

"I know, Senior," he said softly, his voice gentle and devoid of pressure. "This is not a decision to be made lightly. You carry the weight of an entire clan on your shoulders. Your reputation is your armor."

He folded his hands in his lap, the picture of a patient healer.

"Take your ti to think it through. We can discuss the treatnt again when you are ready."

ng Yan let out a shuddering breath she hadn’t realized she was holding, the air leaving her lungs in a ragged gasp. The steel tension that had held her spine straight finally snapped, and she slumped back against the velvet cushions, looking smaller than her title allowed.

She looked at him, not as a Matriarch looks at a junior, but as a drowning woman looks at driftwood. There was imnse gratitude in her eyes, but beneath it swam a dark, lingering terror.

"Thank you... Young Master Tang," she whispered, her voice trembling.

She turned her head sharply toward the window, unable to bear the weight of his golden gaze any longer. She stared at her own reflection in the darkened glass, a pale, feverish ghost of the woman she used to be.

The silence returned, but it was no longer empty. It was filled with the chaotic noise of her own thoughts.

She tried to ditate, to suppress the roiling heat in her lower abdon, but every attempt only made the "diagnosis" feel more real. She ran through the possibilities, each more humiliating than the last. Madness? Crippled cultivation? Or... his hands? The mory of his palm on her stomach ghosted over her skin, a phantom touch that made her thighs clench involuntarily.

Hours bled away in that suffocating silence.

Outside, the oppressive gloom of the forest finally began to surrender. The three moons dipped below the horizon, replaced by the bleeding grey and gold of the coming dawn.

As the sun crested the mountains, the Thousand Waves City revealed itself in the distance.

It was a beast of stone and spirit arrays, its towering walls stretching hundreds of ters into the sky, shimring with defensive formations that caught the morning light. It was a beacon of civilization, a symbol of the power she wielded, and the power she was terrified of losing.

The spirit beasts sensed ho and picked up speed, their hooves thundering against the paved road. The carriage rattled onward, carrying a predator and his prey back to the heart of the clan.

Shen Yu sat motionless, his eyes closed as if resting, but his mind was sharp, calculating the inevitable outco.

He didn’t need to speak another word. He didn’t need to push. The seed of fear had been planted deep in the fertile soil of her desperation, watered by her sha and her desire.

Now, he just had to wait for it to bloom.
