Shattering Humanity Chapter 46: Where One Sees Value

Katsu, Saku, Shelly, Daisuki, and Itsuka are silent in shock.

The young students stare at the unexpected picture of their ntors prison photo. They look at the ntor and back towards the wanted poster encouraging the killing and harming of the Big Brother figure.

This man who is now feeling more like the enemy is standing 3 feet in front of his matching red eye and eye-patched comrade Silpheed.

Katsu(tears in his eyes): "Wait, does t-that an?"

Nephilim: "That’s right, as of right now, those sleezeballs see either your IceEyes and your lives as valuable. Or they see you as a risk to their growth and control of inco within the society. As of tomorrow, every ntor and student is going to see you as terrorists even your old classmates."

The picture that the mischievous man is holding up pops silently out of existence and suddenly reappears at Daisuki’s chest. Daisuki flinches but catches it, he opens his hand to the now crinkled poster of his old self. His dead eyes of regret in the picture. Then he gets a look of horror from the sudden realization.

Daisuki: "Wait... Neph... You just said ’lives’ and ’IceEyes’, you’re only talking about . Right?"

Nephilim’s expression is blissfully evil from the mans question and he can barely contain himself.

Nephilim: "Yes! That’s the look they probably had too Daiuski!Okay, okay, I can’t hold it back anymore."

He holds up the next paper, folded, without showing them. Like Daisuki’s it disappears, as if "from a fra" of reality and back into reality, halfway in Itsuka’s bust. She doesn’t blush as she pulls the paper out, but Saku does.

Itsuka opens the folded poster to see they used her Academy photo. It clearly shows her gorgeous face and her complete torso, abdominals and all.

Itsuka: "Didn’t you say sothing about those creeps, ’bidding’."

Nephilim biting his lip to avoid interrupting the montum with his excitent, holds up the next folded poster and without opening it, again, it disappears.

Shelly begins her catching motion before it even appears again and perfectly tis its appearance in front of her, as if knowing it was coming towards her.

It catches Nephilim’s attention.

Nephilim(to himself): "Huh, those pervs might have to miss out on one so I can test her abilities, hopefully she acquires an eye."

Shelly opens the paper while Neph holds the last 3 papers up and they individually pop in and out of existence. One in front of Katsu and two in front of Saku.Shelly’s poster has the sa general info format, her smiling beautiful face.

Nephilim smiles at the boys disappointnt of his bounty and teases him by pointing.

Nephilim: "The easier the job or less demand for an item, ans the less amount others are willing to pay. Maybe get an eye or get stronger. If you want respect don’t get injured less than 4 hours into an excursion. As far as the qualifying students are concerned, the reason you’ve only been nice to them, was to fool them. Now you’re a well known ’easy target’ but it is actually because those 3 ’Sisters’ believe you can be bait for the rest of the bounties."

Saku doesn’t even open either piece of paper and crumbles them up and tosses them.

Saku(pissed off): "Knowing you gave two papers ans there’s one for my dog too. This morning Gray told I no longer had to worry about my innocent and loyal dog being threatened, and now you want to tell this sick FUCKING JOKE?!"

Nephilim: "If I were you I wouldn’t worry about Gray anymore either. By the way, he wanted to tell you ’200%’. Probably whatever his eye saw and didn’t tell you I presu."

Saku grabs his SunSword, dual wielding, not having to worry about the heat to cause damage. He and Nephilim EyeEngage, Saku in pure rage and Neph smirking.

Nephilim: "Oh? Here we go?"

Daisuki: "Saku,NO!"

Saku: "Friend. STAY!"

The dog barks as to cheer on his master and Saku sprints towards his enemy. Nephilim doesn’t flinch even as Saku swings both bright burning swords downward towards each of Neph’s shoulders. Just in ti Silpheed stops the attack and their swords, red hot, are connected and their faces behind their blades.

Katsu: "Saku RELAX!"

Saku(still connected): "KATSU SHUT UP! IF YOU AREN’T GUNNA FIGHT, STAY OUT OF THIS!"

Saku then backs off and he looks at Silpheed’s eye patch. He EyeEngages with the eye patch and gets surprised.

Silpheeds single red eye shows their surprise as well and they disengage. Silpheed jumps back and whispers to Nephilim. Nephilim looks at the crew and grins.

Nephilim: "Well this looks like the best ti for us to part ways Dice. But don’t worry this isn’t a farewell forever, don’t let down, rember you’re now my investnts. Make those greedy pigs see more value in you."

Saku: "Wait I’m not done with-"

Before he can finish Nephilim disappears like one of the papers. Silpheed sheaths their blades and bows. They stand upright and vanishes too. Neither returned like the papers did.
