“What’s wrong?” Sheng Ning looked behind her, only to find that Lu Dabao was nowhere to be seen. “Where’s Dabao? Isn’t she coming with us?”
“Grandpa Su asked her to stay and mop the floor!” Chen Huaying’s gaze was fixed on Sheng Ning, filled with countless doubts and surprises…

“What are you doing?” Sheng Ning instinctively hid behind Chen Huaying for a mont, and upon realizing her actions, felt sowhat annoyed.
What was there to be afraid of? She hadn’t done anything wrong. If anything, it was the Su Family who had wronged her, and ng Ping owed her even more.
“Grandpa wants to invite you in for a visit, would you like to?” Su Huai’an’s voice was very soft, as if he was treading on eggshells. It was as though he was speaking to a butterfly, which might be scared away with just a slightly heavier tone.
ng Ping didn’t speak, instead, stroking his chin in a way that showed he was quite intrigued.
After the recent incident, Hai Lan too had beco smarter. She clenched her teeth, trying to understand what Su Huai’an was really up to.
“I can’t simply enter the Su Family’s house, Chen Huaying, let’s go!” With that, she tried to pull Chen Huaying away, but the latter stood still, eyebrow twitching.
“Sheng Ning!” Chen Huaying called out her na sternly, “I think you should go in and have a look!”
“What for?” Sheng Ning asked, puzzled. It was only now that she realized that Chen Huaying, who always stood up for what was right and was known for her straightforwardness, hadn’t said a single word since they ca out.
“Just go in and you’ll see!” Chen Huaying’s expression was strange, still appearing incredulous.
“Right!” Su Huai’an agreed, “How would you know if you don’t go in? Besides, this is your task, and you should rember that your task to deliver warmth hasn’t ended yet.”
Sheng Ning wanted to be a good worker, a qualified worker, an outstanding worker. She aid to do her best in every task given to her, even if it was just to deliver warmth.
Indeed, she should not let her personal feelings interfere with her normal work and studies.
“Alright!”
“This way, please.” Su Huai’an made a gentlemanly inviting gesture, which clearly showed the polish of his studies abroad.
It was then that everyone was surprised to see that Su Huai’an had only put on a thin cashre sweater despite the sub-zero temperatures outside, yet he hadn’t even frowned after standing for so long.
ng Ping snorted disdainfully. So he wasn’t the weak scholar everyone thought he was. No wonder his father and brother esteed him so highly.
The Su Family were just hypocrites.
The Su Family’s living room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Lu Dabao sat on the couch, nervously biting her nails. Had she said sothing wrong? Why was everyone’s reaction so strange?
Why did Chen Huaying look like she wanted to eat her up? Why were the glances everyone turned her way filled with such suspicion?
When the front door opened and the cold wind blew in, Mr. Su suddenly stood up, his movents quick and not at all like those of an old man.
“My granddaughter… my sweet granddaughter.” Mr. Su’s eyes brimd with tears as he looked at Sheng Ning with intense excitent. He wanted to move closer but was afraid it wasn’t real, afraid that raising his voice or moving too briskly might shatter this wonderful dream.
“I’m not your granddaughter,” Sheng Ning replied coldly.
