At that mont, the Su Family was once again undergoing a storm. The old patriarch sat on the sofa in the living room, holding his cane, while Su Hai stood expressionlessly at the entryway. Su Yun, who had arrived in a cheerful mood, was turned away at the door and had to stand awkwardly in the yard.

The old man had been silent for nearly ten minutes, and the food on the table had long since gone cold.

Su Hai glanced over and frowned slightly. Although he was the youngest of the three, he was truly the most indulgent towards Su Yun. He had been standing up for his sister since before he was of age, solving most troubles whenever they arose.

Even though he had his grievances towards his sister, he never held them against her, but this ti he was very angry, extrely angry.

Su Hai looked at his watch, calculating that it was ti for Father to take his dicine. He had planned to look for Ningning after the eting, but to his surprise, the old man received the news so quickly. Before he could make ands, his sister returned without a clue of the gravity of the situation.

Hmph! Just as he predicted, the Su Family had staged another drama for others to witness.

"Dad, do you really not want anymore?" Su Yun stood in the yard, her hands and feet ice-cold, her entire body numb. "Dad, it’s too cold outside, can you let in first?"

She loved beauty and dressed thinly. The evening was colder than dayti, and she couldn’t bear the freezing cold.

The old man snorted coldly, "You can’t even endure this much? Then why didn’t you think about Qin Youmin, who froze to death on the roadside while searching for you?" His words were rciless, harsher than any scolding or quarreling from before—a sign that this ti he was thoroughly resolved.

Su Hai’s brow twitched, sensing that the situation was spiraling out of control.

"Dad, what are you talking about?" Su Yun trembled all over, "Qin Youmin brought it upon himself. We were together willingly, and I made it clear to him not to look for when I left. He chose to search; how is that my fault? He caused his own death, what does it have to do with ?"

The old patriarch gasped for air and nearly fainted.

Outside the wrought iron yard wall, Sheng Ning halted her steps abruptly. Her pale face, hidden under the dim yellow light, showed no hint of color, and her lips were tightly bitten, the force of it even drawing threads of crimson blood.

"What nonsense are you speaking?" Su Hai rebuked sternly, "Apologize to Dad right away."

"What did I do wrong? Why should I apologize?" Su Yun stubbornly held her head high, refusing to apologize at all. "I was with him once, but do I owe him? Like he deserves it, he’s nothing!"

Su Hai held his forehead in frustration, truly at a loss for words. "If it weren’t for Ningning, it would indeed be inconsequential to part on good terms, but you have Ningning, a continuation of you two. You should at least give Qin Youmin enough respect for Ningning’s sake."

"All because of her... Just because of her..." Su Yun’s eyes filled with intense hatred, "I shouldn’t have given birth to her in the first place!"

"You scoundrel! How can you say such a thing? If we were all like you, then should I also say I regret having you?" The old patriarch’s cane flew straight from the living room, hitting Su Yun and causing her to fall awkwardly to the ground, a red bump swelling on her forehead soon after.

"Dad, how can you hit ?" Tears surged in Su Yun’s eyes, "I am your daughter, your own flesh and blood. How can you hit for an outsider?"

Sheng Ning closed her eyes slightly, a pale smile on her face. Outsider... Indeed, she was an outsider! Her surna was Sheng, not Su, not Qin. She thought that rebirth would allow her to change many things, but so things can’t be altered just by effort.

She stumbled away, the chasm in her heart finally fracturing into an unbridgeable gulf. She held no hatred towards her grandfather, in fact, she respected him greatly and wanted to repay his kindness, but she was unable to cross the emotional barrier within her heart.

"Just go! And never co back." The old patriarch shakily stood up, his vision blackened, and he fell straight to the ground.

Su Hai reacted extrely fast, darting over to steady the person in ti. "Doctor, have the doctor co over imdiately."

"Right away!"

Because it was anticipated, the doctor was always on standby.

It took a while for the old master to co around, struggling fiercely, refusing treatnt, while the doctor, sweating profusely from his forehead, urged, "Old master, your blood pressure is too high. You could easily have a cerebral hemorrhage..."

"Dad, are you alright? Dad, are you driving away? All because of that wild girl, Sheng Ning..."

"Shut up!" Su Hai’s harsh words and furious voice left Su Yun’s mind blank with fright.

Was even Xiao Hai treating her with such ruthless indifference now? All for Qin Youmin, all for Sheng Ning, was this how they treated her? She was the precious daughter of the Su Family, their treasured pearl. Why, just because Sheng Ning showed up, did she suddenly have nothing?

Just because she’s her daughter? No... That’s not it, she didn’t have this daughter, she didn’t want a daughter. When she had abandoned Sheng Ning back then, she hadn’t intended to take this daughter back.

She was a bastard, not her daughter. Qin Youmin was an insult to her, sothing she never wanted to bring up again in her life.

Su Yun lay sprawled on the ground, the cold floor unable to quell the burning hatred and rage in her heart.

In only a few steps, Su Hai carried the old master to his room, saying sternly, "Dad, please don’t be angry with sister!"

"Don’t call her sister!" the old master commanded sharply.

"Yes, yes, yes... But you need treatnt. If sothing happens to you, who’ll stand up for Ningning?"

Su Hai’s words caused a spark in the old master’s eyes, after which he stopped struggling and cooperated with the doctor’s treatnt.

"Doctor, the old master is in your hands," Su Hai called out, then turned and walked out to stand above Su Yun, looking down at her.

"Xiao Hai, are you going to treat this way too?"

Su Hai squatted down, his gaze complex as he looked at her, "Su Yun, why have you beco so obstinate, so selfish? Ningning is your own daughter. Aren’t you just stabbing a knife into Dad’s heart by treating her like this? Dad went to such lengths for Ningning at his age, traveling so far. Do you realize how your actions today could render all his efforts futile?"

"What did you call ?" Su Yun hadn’t absorbed a word he’d said, fixated only on Su Hai not calling her ’sister.’

"Su Yun!"

"Say that again?" Su Yun’s eyes reddened. "Dare you say that again?"

Su Hai couldn’t help but curl his lips in scorn, "Don’t you see it yet, at this point?"

"See what?"

Talking to her felt like it was lowering his own IQ, Su Hai thought, "If you disown your own daughter, Dad will disown his daughter too."

Su Yun’s heart skipped, looking at him incredulously, "What about you? Are you going to disown too?"
