"Who do you think did this?" Xu Qigang asked casually.
"Definitely ng Ping!" Sheng Ning blurted out, imdiately regretting his words and wishing he could bite off his tongue. "Sorry, are you upset?"
"Not at all!" Xu Qigang shook his head, his handso face filled with worry as he pursed his lips, "It’s understandable that ng Ping would do such a thing, but it’s too impulsive."
"Could it be dangerous?"
"Do you know who the man is?" Xu Qigang originally didn’t want her to know, preferring to handle these grim matters himself. All she needed to do was happily be his little wife and strive for her dreams.
"Yes! I recognized his voice. Do you think ng Ping could be in danger? Could that man guess it was ng Ping who did it?" Sheng Ning grabbed Xu Qigang’s sleeve anxiously, "ng Ping didn’t know about this initially; it was only told to him because Chen Huaying couldn’t figure out who the man was."
"Right!" Xu Qigang nodded. "It would only take half a day to investigate it thoroughly."
"So what should we do? Should we pretend we don’t know?"
Xu Qigang laughed at her question, "ng Fan is my brother, how could I pretend not to know when his brother is in danger?"
"But..." This developnt was sothing Sheng Ning had never imagined. ng Ping was too terrifying; his move was practically cutting off Bai Tian’e’s lifeline!
Exactly! He was always such a fearso person, unscrupulous and extre. She could already imagine how miserable Bai Tian’e’s days would be in the future; she probably wouldn’t even be able to die if she wanted to.
Su Hai parked the car and ca over. Seeing them standing by the road, he urged, "Are we still talking about the newspaper, or about that man?"
As Su Hai spoke, he kept observing Sheng Ning’s expression, clearly able to read sothing on Xu Qigang’s face. Having undergone rigorous counter-surveillance training, he knew how to conceal his emotions.
Sheng Ning’s expression confird his guess. "Do you guys know who the man in the newspaper is?"
"No!" Sheng Ning shook his head.
"Ningning, don’t lie to your uncle, there’s nothing he doesn’t know," Su Hai said proudly.
"So who is it?"
Su Hai pulled out a newspaper from his work bag and pointed to the background, "If I’m not mistaken, this is the Provincial Command Center, looks like a lounge. It seems Bai Tian’e’s lover is no small fry!"
Sheng Ning shivered, thinking everything was too terrifying. How can brains even work like that? To guess so accurately from just a background; it seed Su Hai still had more to say.
"Alright, stop standing there, or the old man might co out the gate to welco us."
The trio walked in, and the old man was indeed standing at the door, eagerly watching. Upon seeing the young couple, he was overjoyed and handed them red envelopes before they even had a chance to pay respects.
Su Hai, feeling jealous, said, "Dad, you really are biased."
Su Huai’an agreed, "Exactly, am I even your biological grandchild? Where’s my red envelope?"
"Go on, go on... You’re all grown-ups, why do you still want red envelopes?" The grandfather sched privately; of course, his private money was ant for his granddaughter, not to be spent carelessly.
"Grandpa, am I really your own?" Su Huai’an joked, "Am I soone you picked up?"
"Nonsense, how could you be soone I picked up? If anything, it would be your dad who picked you up."
