Sheng Ning suddenly beca a bit worried, "Will I get food poisoning?"
"Noodles!" Xu Qigang uncomfortably averted his gaze, "I can only cook noodles."
Sheng Ning’s curiosity was piqued, wondering if he used to eat noodles for every al at ho. "So what did you eat at ho before? You couldn’t have mooched off other people’s als every ti, right?" His mother-in-law couldn’t cook, and his father-in-law’s skills were not to be tested.
"My dad is good at making fried rice, and I’m good at boiling noodles," Xu Qigang coughed lightly, answering with utmost seriousness—as if he were attending an important eting.
"Hahaha..." Sheng Ning couldn’t hold back and burst into hearty laughter, "Living Yama, so this is your specialty? Then what would you not be good at?"
"Don’t laugh." Soone beca annoyed and embarrassed.
Sheng Ning leaned into his embrace, "I was wrong, let taste the noodles you’re good at."
Xu Qigang let her go and sat opposite her instead, putting so distance between them.
The noodles were fresh out of the pot, the scent that had woken her up. Sheng Ning took a deep breath, the fragrance with his presence in it was happiness for her.
She picked up the chopsticks and tentatively took a bite.
"Delicious! It really tastes great!" Sheng Ning was full of praise.
Xu Qigang was skeptical, "Really?" His own noodles were barely acceptable. To say they were delicious—they didn’t co close to matching a thousandth of her culinary skill.
"Mm!" Sheng Ning quickly ate a quarter of the bowl but ultimately couldn’t eat anymore and put down her chopsticks. "I’m full." To be honest, better-tasting than it looked, for him, it was indeed his best effort.
Xu Qigang took her chopsticks and ate the remaining three-quarters himself.
After the al, he comnted seriously, "Not tasty!" as though the slender bowl had been made by soone else, having nothing to do with him.
After eating, the young couple each occupied half of the desk—one busy with a report, the other with writing Phoenix. Xu Qigang, when engrossed, was especially attractive—with a straight nose, a firm chin, every line perfectly in place.
She foolishly stared, forgetting to write.
"You made a wise choice having Su Hai handle it for you," Xu Qigang suddenly pulled her drifting thoughts back. She looked down at her Phoenix novel notebook and blushed.
"You know I’m Rebirth?"
"My wife is really capable," Xu Qigang praised.
Because of his words, Sheng Ning blushed even more. Please, could he not say such suggestive things with such an abstinent face? It was plainly unfair.
Suddenly, Xu Qigang put down his pen and looked at her intently.
Sheng Ning also involuntarily swallowed, nervously looking at him, "What’s wrong?" He suddenly seed so intimidating, his oppressive presence almost made it hard for her to breathe.
"Do you know? Right now, I wish I could just hide you away at ho, not letting anyone see you. Even a glance from soone else makes want to kill," he was a man with a strong sense of possession.
Sheng Ning’s face went pale, "Are you angry? Is it about ng Ping? I didn’t expect to encounter him today." The al at noon made her restless, and she didn’t dare to look ng Ping in the eye. However, she could clearly feel his gaze sticking to her constantly.
Even though Xu Qigang’s look was cold enough to freeze soone to death, ng Ping paid no heed.
She knew, ng Ping was just that imperious, never considering others’ feelings or the situation. She was furious inside but had no choice but to hold back her temper. Because today was the New Year. Because it was at her grandfather’s house, and she didn’t want to make waves—and even less did she want any connection with ng Ping.
