The little fat man snapped out of his panic and, clinging to Xu Qigang’s leg, cried, "Boss, boss has been kidnapped."
Xu Qigang’s face dramatically changed, and with one hand, he lifted the little fat man, "Which direction did they go?"
"I... I don’t know..."
"How long ago?"
"Quick, almost half an hour ago."
"Whose blood is on you?" Xu Qigang knew the blood on the little fat man wasn’t his own the mont he encountered him.
"It’s... it’s Du Xiaosong’s. He got hurt trying to save the boss, took a knife to the body."
"Damn it!" Xu Qigang bellowed angrily, threw the little fat man on the ground, and quickly instructed before leaving, "Chen Yingjie, you go take a look."
"Yes!" Chen Yingjie responded, and Xu Qigang had already disappeared into the darkness.
The little fat man rubbed his eyes; when he didn’t see anyone, he rubbed them again. By the ti he ca to his senses to look for Chen Yingjie, he was gone, too.
Chen Yingjie was extrely disappointed with the little fat man’s responsiveness, lanting the sha of his being from the sa courtyard. He ran upstairs quickly, instantly spotting Du Xiaosong sitting on the ground covered in blood, the office in complete disarray.
"Who are you?" Du Xiaosong asked warily upon seeing him.
Chen Yingjie raised his hands, "I am Chen Yingjie, captain of the fourth squad of the War Wolf Rescue Team." He silently assessed, his alertness isn’t bad, and his reactions are decent.
"From the War Wolf Rescue Team?" Du Xiaosong relaxed considerably.
"Yep!" Chen Yingjie shrugged and quickly subdued the man as he let his guard down.
"Sorry!" Du Xiaosong grimaced as movent radiated pain from a cramped leg muscle to his abdon, yet he withstood it stoically, "The Second Young Master has been captured, please help rescue him."
"He’s fine. Our captain has already gone after them. If he can’t bring him back, then no one can," Chen Yingjie reassured as he knelt down to check Du Xiaosong’s wound.
"Thank you!" Worry for ng Ping etched on his sweaty face, Du Xiaosong hastily inquired, "It’s Captain Xu Qigang who went, right? Is it him?"
"Yep!"
"That’s great!" A trace of smile finally surfaced on Du Xiaosong’s cold, clammy face, though it contorted with pain due to Chen Yingjie probing his wound. "With Captain Xu on the case, everything will definitely be fine."
"Of course! Can you find anyone better than our captain?"
"No chance!"
Just then, the little fat man, finally catching on, ca in from outside. Upon seeing him, Chen Yingjie directed him to fetch the dical kit. The little fat man scurried to bring the dical kit, opened it, and found it quite well-stocked.
Chen Yingjie was skilled in his movents: cleaning the wound, disinfecting, stitching – all done in one smooth sequence without a tremble.
Du Xiaosong was tough, biting down through the entire process without uttering a sound. The little fat man watched at the side, cringing in sympathy.
After the bandaging was finished, Du Xiaosong gave Chen Yingjie a thumbs up.
Chen Yingjie washed his hands and casually wiped them dry with the little fat man’s clothing, "All good now? If there’s nothing else, I’ll be heading out."
"Take care, I owe you one."
Chen Yingjie didn’t pay much mind, but just as he stepped outside, he was suddenly hugged around the waist by the little fat man, his plump arms tightly encircling Chen Yingjie’s lean waist.
Du Xiaosong jumped in fright, closing his eyes, unable to look.
Chen Yingjie’s face darkened imdiately, "Let go."
"Ah..." The little fat man hastily released his grip.
Chen Yingjie brushed off disdainfully, "Little fat man, if you dare to get handsy again, I’ll beat you up."
"I was just worried you would leave. What would we do without you?"
Chen Yingjie snorted coldly, "Like that, rest assured, no one’s interested in you." With that, he left without further delay.
Du Xiaosong glanced at the little fat man, signaling, "Don’t make a scene, he’s off to rescue the Second Young Master. They’re definitely here for him, really nobody’s interested in you."
The little fat man rolled his eyes, "Alright! I just hope the boss is alright. No, with Living Yama on the job, the boss is definitely going to be fine."
The city lighting system in the eighties was really inadequate; co nightti, everything was plunged into darkness. Xu Qigang followed the scent of blood out of the building, heading north, moving swiftly. Tall but silent in his movents.
Crossing street after ancient street, Xu Qigang abruptly stopped. He bent down, gently touching the ground with his hand. There it was – a blood trail!
Following it, he indeed spotted bloodstains at intervals along the way.
A slight smile instinctively curved his lips, acknowledging the trail left as a clue – it seed the training he had with ng Fan in the past was not in vain.
Xu Qigang followed the clues left by ng Ping all the way to the outskirts. In fact, as he nearly reached the edge of the city, the trail had disappeared; he surmised they must have gotten into a vehicle or another form of transport, preventing them from leaving further clues.
After Chen Yingjie left, he followed Xu Qigang’s trail and directives to the back of a courtyard house. Standing in the dark corner, Chen Yingjie’s expression changed.
What place was this?
Suddenly, two n in leather coats erged from the alley opposite the door. Chen Yingjie hastily hid in the corner, observing secretly. The more he watched, the more alard he beca, a storm of dread rising within him.
